More stuff done...with pictures!!
Pic #1 & #3 Wreaths for the church doors. Got a great deal on these, pre-made at Michaels for $17.99 plus I got to use 15% off over a weekend and got them for around $15. Then decorated and hung the B's with hot glue and ribbon
Pic #2 & 4 My bouquet : ) Got the flowers at Michaels as well, they match the wreaths on the doors. I just bought 2 "pre-made" bouquets wrapped them together with tape then wrapped them with ribbon. I can't decide if I want to add some ribbon that hangs down or not?!?!? But I love them!! Pic #5 Is my tears of joy. I ordered the packets off ebay like most people do. I got 100 for $5 with shipping and all then I began the process of cutting paper and printing little cards. I put 2 tissues in each packet and I had to trim the ends a little to get them to fit Pic #6 & 8 Cake table letters. We decided "Fall in Love" was going to be our theme..loosly. I got the letters at Hobby Lobby for $.99 a piece then applied 2 coats of paint to each one then added the stick pearls I had left over from the tears packets. Pic #7 Our centerpiece for the other 10 tables. Below is the centerpiece for 15 of our tables and we want to use both short and tall ones. My aunt had the hurricanes left over from previous weddings and was kind enough to let me use them. I wanted to have "flowers" in them since I didn't the other centerpieces. So I choose to make more pomanders : ) I will have a flickering candle in the hurricane vase and 2 tealights in the side holders. I am trying to tie everthing together so people see a theme/familiarities in the ceremony and reception. I AM OPEN TO ALL COMMENTS AND SUGGESTIONS!!! So feel free to make any you may have : ) |

DIY Wedding
3 Months from today!!!
I can't believe how quick the time is going! It seems like we just had 6 months and it felt like forever. I have been moving right along on my DIY stuff. I will be posting pics soon but I am at work right now and don't have them.
Bought some very nice wreaths for the church door at Michaels and I am in the process of painting letters to hang in the middle. Have almost all my pomanders done, 3 left!!! Need to finish up my tears of joy also and print water bottle labels. Have 9 centerpieces left to finish for my other tables and still need to do the groomsman bouts. Questions: We are inviting 330 people, we are guessing about 260 will attend. 1. How many tears of joy should I do? 2. How many bottles of water should I label? |

Water Bottle Labels
Has anyone used the Avery White Sticker Paper to make the labels?
http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Products/Crafts-%26-Scrapbooking/Scrapbooking/White-Sticker-Paper_53202.htm#reviews I was thinking about using it then using my paper cutter to cut it to size after printing. My concern was on how well it sticks. Also they have "White sticker paper" and "Project Sticker Paper, white" and I am not sure the difference. Any insight on this would be much appreciated!!! |

A few more things..
I got my tears of joy container figured out. I got this bronze bucket to hold my tears of joy and made a sign then tied it to the handles. I think I'm going to make about 75 packets. We are inviting about 330 people but of course not all will come nor will all want a packet. My bucket will only hold about 40 packets so I think I may find a small tray to fit the bucket on then lay the rest out on the tray....Just an idea not totally sure yet.
The other 2 pics are of my wedding wishes jar and sign. I got inspiration from another WBC blogger but I don't remember who, sorry!! We are having a tradiitional guest book but I wanted to do this as well. I think I am going to place it either on the entry table at the reception or make a picture table and place it on there...still up in the air about that as well. More too come soon!!! |

Silk Flower Pomanders
I was orginally going to do tissue paper pomanders in order to save money. I loved the first one I did but realized it wasn't going to hold up very well til October. My FMIL told me Hobby Lobby was having 50% off flowers last week so I went and got a few stems to play with and LOVED THEM! I hot glued them to the styrofoam ball along with the ribbon I used. They are nice because you can kind of space them out and fluff them to fill in the gaps.
I got the styrofoam balls at Michael's and used the 50% of one item coupon they had last week and got each ball for $1.87 then my stem of flowers came with 12 heads on it and it was $5.99 at Hobby Lobby. I used two spools of the gross grain 2/$3 sale at Michaels and two spools of the glitter dot ribbon $1.00ea at Michaels. And I got a 12 pack of pew hangers at Hobby Lobby 50% off for $5.00. We have 17 pews in our church on each side. So we are going to put one on every 3rd row and alternate the colors. We will have 2 pews with the multi colored flowers and 3 of the brownish-orange color. |

Stress!
DIY Wedding with 108 days to go!
So up until this point we were going to use a wedding planner/coordinator for the wedding. We are paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves and decided it wasn't worth money when we could do it on our own. So I took on the task of making tissue pomanders, tears of joy, photo card box, 10 more centerpieces than the previous ones mentioned, door decorations, cake table and head table decorations, programs, and that's just the start!
Money wise I have been very frugal and have gotten great deals! I can't be anymore pleased with the cost of all the DIY stuff. Mainly, it's the time and stress of it all. My MOH lives in Indy right now and leaving at the end of July to move to Reno, NV. My other MOH works 2nd shift and has a 1 year old at home, my BM has a 1 year old and works different shifts. Then I have a "Bridesman" who really has no interest in helping with my DIY projects which I completely understand. Plus my DIY projects are not really team friendly, unless I give them the whole project to do, can't really make an assembly line for those projects. I am afraid I am getting in over my head when it comes to time. Oh the stress of it all....my FH has been wonderful and very helpful (as he can be). He is very vocal and tells me what he does and doesn't like which I appreciate greatly! I know it can be done I just have to stay focused and use my time wisely!! Any suggestions on making my projects easier or more effecient? |

Wedding Decoration
Table centerpiece
I decided to decorate 15 of my tables with this set up
A 8' floating candle dish with a floating pumpkin candle (Found at Kohls last seaon) on top of a circle mirror (cheapest at Wal-mart). I then found these pumpkin vase fillers at Target last season and really wanted to use them so I found vases I could fill then have a candle sitting on top. It's an oyster votive holder and a 4' ivy bowl with out scallops to have on each side of the floating candle holder. Then I found these beaded wreaths last season on clearance at Michaels. I bought them with no idea of what I was gonna do. I then decided to put it around the floating candle dish. I love them and wish I had more I'd do all our tables this way! |
