Save the Date
What do you think?
Ok after talking to my Aunt Maureen and looking at prices I am considering not doing save-the-date magnets/post cards. Basically everyone already knows when my wedding is and it really wont make a difference getting a post card letting them know. I could save at least $150 - $250 if we dont do it..... plus the hassle.

If you don't have a lot of out of town guests save the dates are not necessary. If you have some out of towners send an email or some kind of save the date to them.

Also if you don't have save the dates, be sure to get  your invites out a little earlier to give people enough time to do what they have to to make it.

Marta's right.  Try to send any type of news, just to confirm that your guests know.  If price is of the essence & you don't want to send mass emails, try vistaprint.com.  They often have free postcards, STD's & low priced (very low priced) magnets that you can design, or choose a design.  If not that, you can always ourchase a pack of inexpensive stationery, type something nice up on the computer & drop in the mail.

If all that is a no go, definitely cover your bases & get their invites out in advance for your guest's sake.  Good luck with everything:)

Your Aunt Maureen is right. It is definitely not necessary to send save the date magnets. Weddings get expensive enough without some of these add ons. This seems like a relatively new "tradition". Good call!
