Honeymoon! - Our trip in Jamaica!

We went on our honeymoon right after our wedding but I haven't had a chance to post pics until now! We went to a Sandals resort in Jamaica. There is a picture of when Jeff and I went zip-lining across the Rain Forest in Jamaica also. (It's the pictures that we are wearing helmets in). Also there are random pics of the resort. Here are some pics from my wedding and reception! I tried to put some pictures that showed some of my decorations. It went almost perfect! I have a few dramatic moments but it went well! Well my wedding is almost 48 hours away, so I'm going to say goodbye for a little while. Immediantly after the wedding I'll be heading to Jamaica for the honeymoon. After I get back, I'll be sure to post pictures of the Big Day and Honeymoon. We had our rehearsal dinner last night and at first I was sooooo nervous. But after we got into it and I saw that everything was going to be taken care of.... I felt so much better! I'm getting really excited now! Wish me luck and good luck to my fellow brides getting married this weekend and next! Talk to you in a week or two!

4 Days Left!!!! - It's almost here... and I'm almost ready

Oh my gosh! I'm getting married this weekend! It's so close. Anyways, it hasn't hit me yet but I still have several things to do. My parents came in town on Saturday, so we got so many things done on Sunday. My grandma was supposed to come in today but she is really sick, so hopefully she can come in tomorrow. I hope to have one more post before the big day. I'm leaving for my honeymoon right after the wedding so I'll have to post a week or two after my wedding! Here are pictures are things that have been done this week. Here are my finished favors. Here are the candy sticks with labels (really cut business cards from vistaprint.com). And here are the sugar-free favors of jelly bellys. Here in the tub of stuff that's going to the Chapel tomorrow that is for decoration. And the lid to the tub. Here is a list of where everything goes in the reception hall. Even though I talked to them about it, they have a reference list. Here is the binder I made for the wedding. It has all the important numbers and other lists for the wedding just in case something goes wrong. Here are my finished coloring books and crayons. There are still in the ziploc bag until I get to the Chapel. Here is the cross-stich I got last night from my stepmom. It's so beautiful and I love it! I'm almost done with everything. Hurricane Season - Wishing everyone a hurricane free honeymoon!

So my wedding is only 8 days away and my honeymoon to Jamaica is 9 days away! I'm keeping a close eye on the weather down there to make sure no huricanes are going to show up and ruin our honeymoon! As of right now, they are not predicting any problems... Anyone else going to the Carribean for their honeymoon this month? My parents are coming in town tomorrow and now it feels so real! I'm giving everyone my final head count today and getting all last minutes details done this weekend! So excited! 9 Days, 5 hours, 0 minutes, 43 seconds til the wedding!

I got bellybutton rings to wear on my wedding day. I know that no one will really see it, but it's one of those details that I thought was cute! So I'm either going to wear the one that says Jeff or the one with the W (the initial of my future last name). I though it was cute and a cute surprise for Jeff. I also took a pic of the picture tree with all the frames that I'm going to use in front of it. I also added the matted frame with the engagement pic in it. Things left to do: Favors- put together crayons- put together coloring books- staple together wish bowl- cut paper for it table decor- iron cloth that will go under the photo tree and wish bowl GET MARRIAGE LICENSE! flowers- make a game plan for preserving flowers steam dress & BMs dresses finish photo list for photographer Good News! I'm pretty sure I have a really good estimate for my final head count. I still never received RSVPs from 38 people!!!!! Warning for those who are sending our invites.... you will have to hunt people down! Anyways, thanks to our families, almost everyone was hunted down. So we officially have 102 people confirmed that are coming. There are still 10 people that we can't contact that we are not sure if they are coming or not. So I'm going to tell the Chapel that the head count is around 110. I feel so much better now that I have a better count. So Monday, I will call all the vendors and tell them the final head count. Oh my god, 15 days! I'm going to a wedding tonight, so hopefully I won't get any more ideas... I don't need anymore projects.

So after all the drama, I finally got my dress back... and it's beautiful! After seeing myself in the final version... I wish I would have worked out a little more but it's almost too late to really worry about it. Anyways, the alteration lady did amazing work in the end! So the dress is locked in it's own room at my mom's house so that it can be spread out. Second, Jeffrey is finally coming home tomorrow!!! He's been gone 6 out of the last 8 weeks! It's been hard trying to handle all this wedding stuff without him! Only 19 days til the wedding! Third, Jeff was actually on TV today! He was out dealing with the tomato/pepper crisis (he's an FDA investigator). All he said was "We have no comments" and he was smacking his gum!!! I guess he wasn't made to be a TV anchorperson. Everything for the wedding is going as planned.... and it's becoming so real!!! RSVP running total- 96

Ask a Question - Should I have people sign a matted frame plus a wishing bowl?

So I'm using a matted frame for people to sign as my guestbook, but I've always loved the idea of having a wish bowl. I could have the frame on the guestbook table, and then put the wish bowl in the reception hall. I was thinking if I put it in the reception room, and people could fill that out while they are waiting for us to finish our pictures. I would just get the MC to announce to the guests to please fill out the cards. I would try to get pretty paper for the guests to fill out. So my question is, is it too much to have both a matted frame and a wish bowl? There are several different poems I could set next to the bowl: As we begin our new journey a brand new Mr & Mrs We could surely use your advise and wishes. Share with us your wisdom about marriage, love & life, The secret to being a good husband or good wife. Jot down a memory a reminder of our day. A doodle or picture will do if you don't know what to say. Please don't forget, it would be such a shame don't drop your card in the bowl, without signing your name. Rehearsal Dress

So I've realized that no one wants to dress up for the rehearsal... which is fine with me! However, I still wanted to wear a cute dress. So I went to Kohl's and got a really casual white dress. It's super cute but it won't look weird if everyone else is in jeans. And it's all white so it will continue the bridal theme! Anyways, here it is.

One of my closet friends hadn't RSVPed and today is the deadline. She's so responsible, so I thought it was weird. Well, I finally confronted her and she told me she can't come. She has some family stuff going on. I totally understand but I'm so upset she can't come :( I mean she was going to be my next choice for a BM if we were going to add one more (I only have two). I'm trying to be supportive but it's hard to hide my disappointment and sadness.

My First Bridal Meltdown - Warning- Venting about Alterations lady

So I had known who was going to alter my gown for the last 4 months. She was recommended to me by the bridal boutique where I purchased my dress and she was there when I purchased my dress and told me all the alterations we would have to make. So about 2 months ago (end of May) we had our first appointment. I really liked her! She wanted to alter my dress in parts to make sure it was done right because she didn't want one alteration to affect other parts of the dress. So I went to my second appointment 2 weeks later. She had done such good work. She then spent an hour trying to figure out the best way to bustle my dress and she was sooo good! She would have to do a french and english bustle to get my train off the floor! So everything was good. We set up our final appointment two weeks later and I was supposed to leave with my dress. So two hours before our next appt. she cancelled on me. I was ok about that. However, for the next 3 weeks she never called me back. I left 5 voice messages and e-mailed her several times. I was getting increasingly upset with her and nervous that I was not going to get my dress finished on time. On Tuesday, she e-mailed me saying that she could meet me the next day. I brought my MOH with me to learn how to bustle the dress... and guess what... it wasn't even close to being done... seams were sticking out... the bustle hadn't been finished!!!!! I freaked out. I've been told a have a slight anxiety problem, but I started having really shallow breathing and my MOH said I looked like I was going to pass out. Anyways, it was a mix of anxiety and anger! So the lady told me that of course she wasn't done and we would need one more appointment. I regretfully left my dress there for her to finish it. I had already paid multiple hundreds of dollars for the alterations and I was afraid to ask someone else to finish it. I know her work is good... but I don't know what's going on! Anyways, I have my final appointment on Monday. If she cancels on me, I'm going to go get my dress regardless. I only have 22 days til my wedding and the clock is ticking!!!! Anyways, I have intense anxiety everytime I think about it... Anyways, here are the pictures from the fitting. The bottom alteration is good and the alteration around the bust is almost there. Can you also see how wrinkled it is!!!! And the petticoat looked like she just had threw it in her closet from last time cause it was pressed last time I tried it on. My face isn't on the pictures cause I wasn't wearing any makeup that day! RSVP update: the total is now up to 87 (but RSVPS had no names on them)! which is exciting... except that 53 people have not responded and the deadline to respond is tomorrow!!!! Ugh it's so frustrating! So I'll probably be making some calls next week!

So my MOH came over yesterday and we worked for 7 hours on decorations... and we finished the photo tree!!! It's looks awesome. Carol came over and with her creativeness we created and finished the tree. Thanks to a fellow bride (billiewinter) who posted some pictures on my blog earlier. All the hanging pictures have a picture on each side, one of me and the other one is Jeff. Also I hung pictures of us as a couple on there also. What do you think? It's going in the middle of the photo table and there will be frames all around the photo tree. Also there will be some momentos also in the frames (also one of the pictures but it's still in the process). Also, there is pictures of frames and the LOVE sign that we also spraypainted. There is a picture of my coloring book.

Organizing! - things for decorating the chapel

So I'm starting to get everything together to take to the Chapel and I realized I hadn't posted some of the things: Well the thing that looks like a vase with our names and date on it, is actually a floating candle holder. The floating candle is white, but I was thinking of either getting a blue floating candle instead or filling it with water with blue food coloring in it. It's going to sit on the guest book table (even though there will be no guest book per se) so people can see it when they first walk in. There is a picture of my dark blue and light blue rose floating candles for the centerpieces. The candles will be in a clear fish bowl with clear ice crystals on the bottom of the bowl. Also there is the matted frame that I got made at Hobby Lobby for only $30! My photographer was going to charge me $85 for one of these. So now I need to find fine point sharpees in blue. So now I'm just waiting to get the picture back to put in it. Also one of my new future sisters got Jeff and I personalized M&Ms with a dispenser. It's going to sit on the gift table to help decorate and spice up the table a bit. It's really cute. I just now opened it completely so Jeffrey wouldn't eat all the M&Ms! Thanks Lindsay! So I got a plastic tub to put all these things in there so they won't be spread all over my house anymore. The exciting news is that my MOH is coming over tomorrow to help me finish up the photo tree so I will have pics up hopefully tomorrow! RSVP running total- 49 Wedding- 27 days!

oh my gosh, only one month left! I can't think about it too much cause it makes me anxious. I have a few things going on: I'm working on a photo display for the wedding, I'm going to start getting favors put together, and I need to round up the groomsmen and make sure they have been fitted for their tux. Also, I think my alterations lady is holding my dress hostage. Not really but I'm not happy with her right now.... Everything but the photographer and rings have been paid for... And that money is not due until after the wedding. RSVPs are still slow to come in... I think I'll be making a lot of phone calls in two weeks. RSVP running total- 38

So I recieved an RSVP back today with no names on it... Well the city it came from was on it... but it said Dallas, TX... I sent 6 invitations to people in Dallas... sigh.... I've only received about 8 RSVPs and the deadline that I put on the invitaiton to RSVP is July 19th.... 11 days away! I invited about 148 people and only 33 people have RSVPed so far. I'm going to have to call all the people who have not RSVPed by the 24th, so I can get an accurate number of people. I mean I put a stamp on the RSVP. All they have to do is write on it and drop it in the mail. RSVP running total- 33 Wedding- one month and 2 days away!

Ask a Question - Gifts before the wedding?

So my wedding is still 35 days away, but I'm already receiving wedding gifts! So should I be sending Thank you cards as soon as I receive the gift or should I wait to send the Thank you card til after the wedding? I am going to go ahead and write out the thank you cards as I get gifts to make sure I get those done, but when should I send it? Wedding- 5 weeks away!!! RSVP running total- 29!!! Where is all the rest of the RSVPS? ugh.

So it's six weeks before my wedding! Exciting! I have my final dress fitting on Monday. And the only things I have left to do is making the guys get fitted for their tux, finish putting the favors together, getting together supplies for the picture table, and put together the reception music. Also, my fiance has been gone for 3 weeks for work but he sent me a bouquet of irises yesterday. He's so sweet! RSVP running total- 25

Ok here are our engagement pictures. Some are corny, I know.... my photographer told us to pose around the tree and stare into each other's eyes. lol. So with 51 days until the big day, I keep second guessing all my choices! Especially, when it comes to the chapel that I'm getting married at.... Maybe because I have seen the chapel so many times, but everytime I go to see it, it loses it's cuteness. I keep thinking that maybe I should have gotten married somewhere else.... Anyways, I need to suck it up because I have almost paid for the whole thing..... But it makes me sad :(
