Wedding Reception
Escort Cards?
So im have a very small ceremony & those who are invited to it wil be the ones coming to the dinner. Its roughly 80 people give or take a few & we are having a buffet styled dinner.
Now im a little concerned because i DO HAVE - & im sure most families do - some people that dont get along but for the sake of our wedding i know they will be okay with sitting down for dinner, maybe not at the same table, but different ones.

My question is should i do escort cards for this small number of dinner quests OR should i just let it be and have an open seating for them?

I know alot of people now do them for the sake of everyone being happy & not causing fights because of where they are seated.

Another Option For Memory Candle && My DIY Guestbook
I am looking for another idea & possibly in a decent price range for another option instead of the memory candles. My grandmother passed away 3 years ago this coming December & i was really close with her. She was my best friend & a loving grandmother. I would love to do something special just for her.

If you have any links or ideas as to what i could do - please post them here if you could.

On another note - i finished my guestbook last night. Used a plain hard cover black book & added left over materials & ribbons from my other DIY projects & VOILA my guestbook. Picture #2. Let me know what you think :)

Do To List & Centerpieces
As everyone knows - or ALMOST everyone - that we are having a black, white & red wedding with an accent of blk&wht checkered. Our theme being Stock Car Racing because my FH races locally during the summers & its something we both love.

With that being said & giving you an idea of the feel of things - im still trying to come up with a UNIQUE - DIFFERENT centerpiece. I dont want any florals & i want to use water [ wheather i use food coloring or not thats another idea i have been using] I have been told to try water gel crystals that you can buy off ebay for cheap - has anyone used these & their centerpieces turned out okay?
All im asking now is to help with some ideas for centerpiece with the ideas given above. PLEASE! :)

Now My TO DO List - 6 months to go [OMGOSH THE EXCITMENT]

- Get FH to go try on/find his tux & look into vests to rent
- Set up an appointment to talk with my aunt about our cake idea.
- Get the last bridesmaid to go get measured & deposit paid.
- Finalize the guestlist
- Come up with a centerpiece
- Talk with the officiant for the wedding, music to be played?
- Find out how much food we are going to need for Buffet Dinner
- Stag & Doe Tickets to get done & ready.
- Pay off some of the smaller venues used for wedding
- Let the girls know they can wear what ever shoes & remind them the times for our hair appointment/make-up, just in case i missed telling.
- Transportation - limo? our own vehicle?
- Go MIL & Step Mother Dress shopping.
- Print Programs
- Check on wine allowed at reception site - need to order through bar.
- DECORATIONS FOR HALL - get together with friend to disguss
- Go ring shopping [Christmas Time - SALES]
- Deside on Hair Style [Half Up & Down]
- Buy wedding gifts for bridal party
- Decide on flower girl dress & let me aunt know which one.
- Purchase black ties for ring bearers.

Thats all i can think of right now. Did i miss anything? hahaha

UPDATE!
Step-Sisters Wedding Dilemma.
I want to first off start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone who gave me their advice on this topic. It made me think the situation over ALOT & i even called up my daddyo for a little chat about it.

Heres The UPDATE::

After speaking with my dad i have finally expressed my situation with him & he gladly gave me his opinion on the situation. I guess Sarah [my step-sister] had been talking with him & my step-mom about this & thought with our weddings being 3 weeks apart that i wouldn't be going period. I told dad that if & when the time comes, if the budget is looking good then theres a good possability that we would be going BUT if it comes to not having the money there then we would have to send our best wishes & a gift.
He understood 100% - Sarah even said it was alright if we couldnt she understood how expensive things are specially when youre doing them yourself.

So now with the weight lifted off my shoulders & focusing on getting things paid off so maybe just maybe we will get the chance to go & be there for my step-sister & her soon-to-be husband!

Thanks Again Everyone!!

*hugs*

I am looking for..
Ladies,
I am looking for BLACK Chair Sashes.
I have searched on ebay for them & some are reasonable priced others... not so much. I was told by a friend of mine that i should just by the tulle & make them myself since i am looking for about 150 of them.

Now, if i can buy them then it would be one less thing i have to worry about but if its going to save me some money then ill make them. My question is does anyone know of a good website that ships to Canada that has reasonable prices or do you know of anyone who is selling theres?

Aswell, has anyone ever made these sashes before? are they easy or hard?

Thanks So Much.

Ask a Question
Do I Stay or Should I Go?
This has been the question brewing around in my brain for the last month or so. I have made the pros & cons of it but im still undecided. So now i am asking for some help.

My step-sister got engaged early this year & is getting married 3 WEEKS before mine. The only problem with this is she is getting married in Florida [her fiances parents cottage] which is about a days drive [roughly] from where i am. Now with driving its the cheapest route vs flying. & to be honest i would much rather drive seeing as im not the flying type. all that we would have to pay for is food, gas & hotel when we get there [ might even just take turns driving so it takes less time to get there]

I would like to go but then it all comes down to MONEY. The good old green stuff. With our wedding we might still have payments that are due a month before or a couple weeks before the wedding so right there that leaves us short PLUS we will need money for our honeymoon which to be honest is a little more important seeing as we will be off for a wk & a half for it. Now I thought ' why not get a gift & such and give it to my dad to bring down' but then i dont want to not go & then have her not show up at mine because i wasnt able to make it. I want my family there including her so we can enjoy it together!

What should i do? Should i stay behind & worry about mine or should i break into the honeymoon money or something & go?

Flower Girl Problems
Where do i start?
With only 8 months & 5 days till the wedding, im not g oing to lie, im starting to feel the pressure of everything seeing as all through the summer i haven't been able to plan much of my wedding [due to my fiances racing] Now with only 2 months left in the season i figured i would get back into the swing of things & get it checked off the list.

Now im having some issues on what i should be doing as far as my flower girl should be carrying down, gift, size for dress ext.

I have been debating back & forth with having her walk down with a pomander ball better known as a kissing ball to some. Shes only going to be 3 years old & figured instead of a basket it would be much cuter & simpler. But what size do i get? 7" too big? rigth now she is 2 [29months] & stands about my hip, now im not tall by any means only 5'2ish so putting her dress off is killing me. Shes in a size 2 in clothes so i figured by April she should be a 3-3x. Should i wait & get her dress in December [christmas stuff is out] or should i see what i can get now? && for gifts, any ideas what i can get her without breaking the bank? I have a little tote that i got & was thinking a zip up sweater with flower girl on the back for when she gets her hair done. Any other ideas?

Need Help Deciding..
WOW, so i haven't posted on here in a LONG time almost 2 months. things have been MIGHTY busy around where i am but lately i have had this BIG problem.

I was talking to my MOH about bridesmaids dresses & rigth now because i have been engaged for almost 2 years i am just wanting to get this over with already [ thats a good attitude to have right? lmao] I have looked over & over at dresses that could POSSABLY be the one but i also got thinking too. I want my girls to be comfortable, able to afford it & not be worried if they look good or bad in it.

I have 2 girls that are bigger chested like i am but my MOH is very 'tiny' everywhere. [JEALOUS :p] So i told the girls that i dont care WHAT they get as long as its the same material & the MOH was in red while the BM were in black. The wedding is in April so i would imagine they will get floor length & the two BM even said they would get the same dress but if the MOH wanted something different then to let her, shes the MOH she needs to be different.

So my question is do i let the girls choose what they want & just give them free roam to do as they please with the dress OR do i pick the dress & have them where it [ im not one to go over the top or over expose btw]

aswell, we were looking into Alfred Angelo dresses. Anyone know of other names & what materials would look good on 'curvier' woman & skinnier types.

Thanks in advance!
