Finally- I have it!
Ok, I know I've been quiet for a while, BUT!!! After so many disappointments and bad dress shopping experiences, I have finally found my dress!!
I love love love it. The straps are covered in smoky coloured jewels and the train/flower is detachable. This dress is so comfortable and fluid feeling- that striped-waist section is so flattering! I know this dress is a bit different- 'edgy' my Mum said. (I like to think it's a bit rock'n'roll!) So I'd love to know what you think and if you have any suggestions for shoes nand accesories, flowers etc!!! Thanks ladies!! x |

Any other brides over using the phrase "We'll start the planning after Christmas"?
So I have set the date for 29th August 2010, which as of today leaves us with 257 days of planning....eeek!
What with all the rush of Christmas, and starting a new job, plus we just moved in together this October, it means that I have been putting off the more serious aspects of our wedding. For example, we haven't decided on a guest list, or even how many guests we are inviting. We haven't booked our honeymoon and, he hasn't been to a tailor and I don't have a dress...... Are there any other WBC brides out there who are putting off much of their planning til the new year? Or am I mad and it's all going to be a huge crazy mess? |

Has anyone ever used a dressmaker in China?
I see adverts everywhere, bridal sites, eBay and now even on WBC. Lots of dressmakers in China promise to make a copy of a gorgeous dress for a wonderfully low price....
But are they for real? or too good to be true? Have any WBC brides ordered one or know someone who has? thanks ladies x |

Fun Photography
I saw a this idea in Cosmo Bride yesterday and though it was really cute.
For fun and chic photos, I will be pegging up a large piece of pretty fabric between 2 trees at my reception for guests to take photos in front of. I'll put a little table nearby with some disposable cameras and hopefully I'll get some pretty pics of my lovely friends and family looking relaxed. (obviously the pics won't show the pegs and everything like this one!) |

It took me far too long to do this! (especially as it's nowhere near as gorgeous and intricate as some boards I've seen on WBC)
My accent colour is based on the pink coral set behind old fashioned cameos. Not bad for a first attempt I hope! Let me know what you think of the scheme, or if you think its not pulled together enough.... |

Our Venue
Its booked!!
It's a beautiful little hotel by the sea that was owned and lived in by Queen Victoria's youngest daughter Princess Beatrice. I don't have many good pictures yet, but will hopefully get more at some point.
It's so much more luxurious than I ever thought I would get and I'm so pleased we got it for such a bargain!! I think our guests will be just as impressed when they enter down the driveway as I was the first time. No changing my mind now!! |

Ideas? Jenny Packham style dresses
I'm completely in love with Jenny Packham's beautiful, vintage-style designs. So timeless and comfortable looking too. I definitely can't afford one with my budget and and have tried looking for second hand but I wondred if anyone knows any dress designers that do similar styles along the same lines? I'm attached pics of my faves so if you have seen something with the same sort of 'feel' elsewhere, could you let me know?
