Wedding Budget
No F**king Way! What to do?
Okay so I know weddings are not cheap, but i always thought that we would be able to have an elegant wedding that didn’t cost as much as a car... apparently i have been living in an alternate universe. My fiancé and I will be paying for the wedding ourselves, I’m sure our parents will try to contribute as much as they can but I don’t want to depend on anyone to pay for our day. One of my biggest fears is that someone will back out last minute and we’ll end up without something important like the cake, so I’ve always known that the money will be coming out of our pockets, the only problem is that my FH is kinda in-between jobs and I pay most of our bills right now so money is always tight.
To complicate things even more, my other half could actually care less about the whole process; he would be just fine with a quick trip to the courthouse. Unfortunately for him I have been dreaming of this day my whole life, and I would honestly rather not get married than get married at the courthouse. I know that’s a little dramatic but we’re both Catholic and I’ve been dreaming of a big church wedding since I was a kid (which he has graciously agreed to since he loves me so much <3 ). So when we got engaged I started working on a budget and the more research I do the more freaked out I get, it is absolutely ridiculous how expensive some of this wedding crap is! $40.00 for a garter that my future husband is supposed to basically throw away? Cake cutting fees? I am so completely overwhelmed and a little bit irritated with myself and all the rest of the brides out there who willingly fork over all this cash for just one day. We’re definitely all nuts. With that being said I still want my dream wedding, I’m just not willing to go into debt for it. So I’m curious how many of you feel the same way? What are you doing about it? Should I give up on my dream or sacrifice something else for our special day? Speaking of sacrificing something, after many long conversations we have decided (maybe) to move in with my future mother in law for a year in order to save money and have the wedding of my dreams. The only person I’ve ever lived with other than my parents is my FH, so I’m a little nervous about living with his mom. Have any of you done this? If so how did it go? What would you be willing to give up- your independence? Your privacy? Or maybe even a little of your sanity? All in order to have your dream wedding? Or are we making a huge mistake? Until next time, Happy Planning! ![]() |

Wedding Reception
We've picked our reception venue!!!
One word to describe our reception venue: AMAZING!!!!
I am totally in love with our venue, it's so beautiful and totally me... I'm hoping that I can get away with less flowers/decorations because its so awesome and the best part is my future hubby even likes it too! :-) Unfortunately I was told that our amazing venue is ALREADY booked on our day. I cried like a baby for days! Eventually we (I) decided to keep the place and pick a new day... FH has been great through my whole meltdown, he told me that if he had his way we would have already been married and that I could pick whatever makes me happy... awwww.... isn't he sweet? I'm sure he'll regret saying the "whatever makes you happy" part at some point. LOL So ladies what do you think? Is it as great as I think it is? Or am I crazy? NWR - Family Drama!
I'm back! (even though I was barely here)
So I finally got engaged and started planning my wedding and all of a sudden life got in the way... A couple days after my last post my younger brother was injured during his last football game of the season and everything has been crazy since then. He broke his leg in three places and has had two surgeries so far, two pins and a very large screw in his knee and he's been in a wheel chair for the last three months... now I know this could have been a whole lot worse and I thank God everyday that it wasn't but it hasn't been easy on him or our family. At this point he's doing much better and has started physical therapy. Although things have been crazy we have still been working on the wedding plans and I'll post all about that later... Happy planning!

DIY Wedding
FREE DIY PRINTABLE DOWNLOADS!!!
Okay so we’ve set a wedding date! We will be getting married on April 13th, 2013!!!! I’m so excited that I couldn’t help but start looking at invitation ideas, I’m pretty crafty and I know I can make our invitations myself and they’ll look just as good as the store bought ones (I hope)… But as I was looking for free wedding clip art I came across this link and found some awesome ‘printables’ that I thought might be useful for someone else planning on DIY-ing their stationary… I hope someone else finds this helpful, I sure did :-) … Happy planning!!!

Engagement
New to WBC! Finally Engaged!
HELLO FELLOW WBC BRIDES!
After almost six years, two break ups, two make ups, one declined proposal, and lots of laughter I am finally engaged to my best friend and the love of my life! We are both so excited to FINALLY take this next step together and can’t wait to share our special day with all of our family, friends and you! I’ve been stalking this and many other wedding websites for years now stealing ideas from all you other brides and now that I’m actually engaged I knew I had to start blogging to get some opinions and support from yall and to share our wedding planning experience… I’m warning you in advance that I’m a total control freak and so picky that sometimes I think I have OCD… Even if all our plans fall apart I’m sure in the end our wedding will be amazing as long as we have each other… Happy planning!!!! Love ya lots! ![]() |
