ONE MONTH!
....or just over 4 weeks to go!
OMG, that just gave me a little bit of a flutter in my stomach!
One month doesn't seem bad, but 4 weeks seems awfully quick! I've been busy finalizing everything. I'm stressing a little on money lately, it seems like there is ALWAYS something to buy or pay off. I have a few hundred left on the caterer, some for our rentals and the DJ left to pay. My family has really kicked in to help, my Grandparents and Aunt are buying the alcohol needed so that's a load off. Since alcohol needs to be bought last minute. We are also having the BBQ the day before the wedding, with about 30 people, so it's like a mini reception. I have table and chair rentals, table cloths, centerpieces, food all for that. My family is of course helping w/ food as well, so it should all go off smoothly. I finished packing all my wedding boxes, i'm pretty much done w/ the out of town bags, just working on google directions for them. Tonight I have a phone call w/ our officiant to finalize the ceremony and on Friday we have our final walkthrough with the venue. At the end of the month I'll be making my phone calls to finalize all the appointments so I can finish my wedding day Itinerary but I think we are really caught up. I want to be done w/ alot of the big stuff by the end of May so I can enjoy the couple weeks w/ my FH before the chaos. I'm only missing about 3-4 RSVP's so that all worked out pretty nicely. I invited my Grandpa's siblings, my Mom wanted her cousins to be there. And one of his sister's, Ruby, you know she RSVP'd for 18 people. I almost had a heart attack, but the numbers are all still where I want them to be so I'm not complaining. I know them all except one, who "lives" by someone. WHY they think he should be invited is beyond me but my Mom says he's really nice blah blah blah whatever. At this point in the game, i'm letting alot of things go because there isn't any point getting worked up. I've had my fair share of drama and now i'm over that shizzz and ready to get married. I am in DEF need of a vaca. We ended up not going through w/ our cruise :( With the last minute stuff piling up and my FH got a new job, we weren't sure sure about it and w/ the last payment of $1200 on the line, I didn't want to give that money away and regret it if it didn't work out. We WILL be going on a honeymoon, we both have the time off we just are going to decide that last minute. I know there are last minute cruises you can get so we MIGHT actually stil go on our cruise but we may also party in Vegas, since it's only about 4-5 hours away and my FH hasn't been. I could even show him the Grand Canyon from there....but we'll see. It's like a surprise, so I'm not stressing about that. I hope you all are enjoying your week and happy planning! Remember, for all those bride's stressing over unneeded drama, it will pass and it will get better. You will make it to your day and it will go beautifully! I'm playing nice and being the peace keeper now, I don't want any more CRAP until after the wedding :) XoXo |

And things keep moving forward...
Well, I've had some more DRAMA this week. UGH, so over ppl and their crap. I had posted before about my crazy a$$ aunt/fam in South Dakota who ended up not being invited. They caused some big probs and really said some out of line stuff, so they didn't get an invite. I thought all that drama was over and I could move on w/ my day without hearing about them again, Yeah, well I thought wrong. Turns out the woman called my Gram and asked to come out the Wed before my wedding for a visit. Are you kidding me, well, my Mom told my Gram to tell her no. (My Mom's sister). And apparently she said no, but let her come Saturday night, the night on my wedding. I guess my aunt really wants to try to be the center of attention. It's like daaaaamn, find your own time to come around. She hardly ever comes out to CA and now she wants to butt her way in. Basically, if she's here during my wedding ppl will find out. I even told my aunt it was rude and she texted me back, telling me I was a stupid little brat and my wedding will be a shamble. I won't repeat what my response was but after ignoring all her hateful mean crap before and trying to let stuff go, I've HAD it with her. I better not see her person.
On a more positive note, I've worked on pics for my mock table set up. I'm making a few copies of set up instructions, to give to ppl I trust on how I'd like things to basically look. Of course I didn't have full size tables to use, so I just used a couple end tables w/ whatever table cloth was around. So the real tables will be spaced out more, not so cramped. Just rough ideas. I'm about 6 weeks away and really looking forward to just having the day here already so I can be married and move on from ppl and their drama. You would think that other's have the opportunity to have their day, let us have ours. C'est la vie. Still getting RSVP's back, they have another couple of weeks before the deadline, we have just about over half, maybe close to 3/4. Will start calling next week to follow up. Happy Planning! XoXo |

DIY Wedding
Under 8 weeks to go!
Every once in a while I get a flutter in my stomach that it's close but I don't think I'm in stress mode yet. And I KNOW it will hit me, I'm just that type anyway! But at the moment, I'm still cool, calm and collected!! Letting it last as long as possible!
On Friday, I went to my dress fitting appointment. Going to get it hemmed and have a bustle added. I originally had my appt at David's Bridal for the alterations but decided to ask around for other recommendations. The closer I get to the wedding, the more I'm DONE w/ spending anymore unnecessary money. I ended up getting a WONDERFUL recommendation, she actually worked at David's Bridal for like 20 years and now stays at home. She's altered hundered of dress and made a ton from scratch too. She was really wonderful. So she is working on that now. I go back this Friday for one more try on, to make sure the hem is perfect and she wants to re-measure for the bustle then, when all extra material is out of the way. She is also going to fix any loose beading. I was standing there as she's pinning my hem and my feet are killing me in the shoes! I've walked around in them, but standing in them was NOT working. They have a band across the arch of my foot that kinda slips down and rubs into my skin! UGH! So when my FH and I ran out to JC Penny Friday night, i actually bought ANOTHER pair of shoes, this is my 4th ladies! AHH! The first I returned, the second my Mom wanted to keep, the 3rd are my ones I was going to wear and I'll keep those cos they are still TOO cute. These new ones, in the pic are more like flip flop feel, sandals. Which I LOVE. I am most comfortable in flip flops, my fiance and I wear our Reefs every where! I think these will be perfect! And they were only about $20 so I don't feel too bad about buying another pair. White at JCP, we got my FH his rehearsal dinner outfit. So he's all set. Still working on mine! Over the weekend I finished my wish/money tree. I bought the manzanita branches (3) online at Save On Crafts. I spray painted them silver and added Plaster of Paris into the pot. The plaster drys solid and heavy, so I gives it a nice weight. It does dry kind of chalky, so when I went to add the pink stones, when I spread them around they got white. So I ended up using some pink glitter paint and sealed the plaster off which actually gave the stones a nice pink background. I added some crystal garland and hanging crystals for that bling and of course some pink orchids. We have some wish tags to either hang or mini clips to attach to branches as well has black sachet bags for money contributions. We are doing this in lieu of a money dance. I also finished all my candy favor boxes. I previously posted the pic of keys that are our favor as well. There are kisses in the candy boxes. I also have white sachet bags w/ little charms on the ties that will have have white dinner mints as a 3rd favor. But I don't know how long the mints would stay fresh? So, I'm waiting until last minute to throw those together. This week, Wednesday, FH and I have a walkthrough at the venue w/ our caterers and rentals. They work really close together, so I just want to finalize everything and make sure we are on the same page. I only have the DJ and rentals to pay off!! A bit on catering depending on the final guest count, but it's exciting to see everything coming together! Happy planning ladies! XoXo PS. STILL waiting for those RSVPs to come through!! And note for others, which I WISH i did for myself, add a return label w/ their names to your RSVP envelopes or find a way to mark RSVP's. We had someone mail it back w/ OUR names on the Mr/Mrs line and say "accepts for 5 ppl". Now I have to wait and use process of elimination to figure it out. Frustrating! |

2 Months...
...60 Days, let's go!
WOW, saying that outloud, 2 months to go. Shiiiiizzzzzz, that seems real. I've felt like it's really close for the last few weeks. But when you think about 60 days, it doesn't bother you as much. Then you say 2 months or 8 weeks and then suddenly it seems right around the corner. As of last week, all invitations are out. We mailed the out of town ones about a week earlier and the closer guests just last week. We already received 2 RSVP cards in the mail and I LOVED that! I was really irritated on Saturday when I didn't get one, after re receiving on thurs and fri, lol. I have to remember I DID give ppl til later in May to respond. Slackers annoy me tho. I mean, the damn RSVP's have a stamp, stick it in the mail, GEESH!
But that's just my personality! I like to get things done NOW, EARLY and I am on top of everything! I appreciate when others are as well :) I've been feeling a little melancholy about the whole wedding day. In the beginning it was so much fun planning and having ppl ask me about it and plans going on. I am not talking to many ppl directly anymore cos everyone wants to share their opinion or get annoyed when you do (or invite in some cases) what they want. I'm tired of it. It's my day, let it be my day and mind your business. I mailed out invites and it's like, come or don't come. WHATEVER. The day isn't about you anyway! I will feel totally relieved when it's all said and done and I can go back to not feeling so much pressure and overwhelming emotions! Being a bride is not easy and the stress that goes along w/ planning. I think sometimes ppl forget that. And in my case, I'm having a REAL, big wedding. Alot of my family members just have these court weddings or last minute throw together things and I think there is some resentment there. Like I feel I'm entitled to too much. You know what I say to that, BITE ME B*TCHES! YES I will have this day and yes, I'm entitled to have it. I've done so much on my own, I feel others could have stepped up and helped out a little more but in the end it's whatever! We've also had to re-think our honeymoon plans. The last cruise payment is due this month, but we still have a higher rental's payment due than we wanted. So we may have to find a last minute cruise deal, or come up w/ a plan B honeymoon. Either way, we ARE going on a honeymoon, the details aren't quite clear yet tho. But I'm totally NOT worry about that. It will all work out :) Happy planning ladies! XoXo |

9 weeks to go <3
I've started to take some pics of my table layouts. I want to finalize my set up instruction sheet by the end of this month. Yes, if I can't be there in person to supervise, my very detailed instructions will be ;)
Please excuse the table cloth, it was the only white-ish colored one. The first is the guest book table, The tears of job and the bubbles will be on this table. The bubble lables look a bit messy for me, but when they set up the table they can lay those a little flatter. Second is the alter table, unity candle. Third is the cocktail tables. These will be on set up on the grassy area next to the reception venue (a park). The set up is simple, I will just be using the glitter mason jars I made, w/ an LED candle and the cocktail hour menus. I included some pics of the reception venue location. Yesterday I went to my preview appt w/ the lady who will be doing my hair and makeup. She was SO nice and really did a great job. I did email her a few things that we will have to change for the day of the wedding, like the bump she did for behind the tiara, that came a loose by the end of the night and will be need to be a little tighter. But she was great and have no doubt it's the look for my day. Sorry the pic isn't the best, it's a bit dark and very hard to see the makeup. She took a few pics too and if I get ahold of some better, I'll post later. I also started working on my wishing/money tree. I bought 3 manzanita branches at Save-On-Crafts online and spray painted them silver. Looks really good so far, just need some plast of paris to set them in the pot. I used foam but they are a bit too heavy to stay, I need somthing a bit stronger. Invites are all offically out!! So hopefully we can start getting some responses in the mail! We made our appointment to get our marriage licence next month. Yay :) Dress alterations next Friday! I found a lady who was highly recommended and used to work at David's Bridal, which is where I was going to go. But didn't want to spend that extra money! Lastly, over the next month, til about mid May I've made appointments w/ most of my vendors to sit down and finalize the plans and make sure we all are on the same page! It feels SOOOO freaking close. But still keeping busy at 2 months to go, 63 days! Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!! XoXo |

Wedding Rings And Jewelry
GOT MY RINGS!!
After tracking my rings, I knew they were to be delivered today. I'm def NOT a patient person so I went home at lunch, even though my FH is off today and waited for the mail. When I pulled onto my street, I saw the mail lady at the mailboxes, so I knew she'd be around to deliver packages soon. About 15-20 mins passed so I decided to peak out the front door, I had been in the kitchen w/ FH talking about his NEW JOB he got today! And there was a missed package slip, telling me to pick it up at the post office.
OH HECK NO! So, I got in my car and drove around for 20 mins until I found that mail lady. I ended up getting my package, she said she rang the doorbell but neither of us heard it and we weren't far away to miss it! I'm SO happy with the rings, the look great and add just the right enough bling to make me happy. There are 10 princess cut diamond on each. Each are .50 carat bands, so a total of 2 carats on my pretty little finger, including engagement ring ;) And even one band looks great for the days I just want to wear something simple. I got an AMAZING deal online on the bands, both together were cheaper than what I'd pay for 1 band at say Kays or Zales. So for the wedding day, I'll put on on while I'm getting ready and then have the top one put on when we say our vows. As for the job, FH interviewed for a County job he really wanted w/ great benefits and just so much more to offer than his current job and he got the news they want to hire him. So he's in the process of getting his background check done and then drug testing, which he'll pass w/ without a doubt. So we are having a very fortunate, happy year! Hope you all are enjoying your week too!! XoXoX |

77 Days to go and check in em off!!
When you first get engaged and you start looking at how much everything is going to cost, it can freak you out!
I've had moments where I'm like OMG I have to pay HOW MUCH and HOW am I going to come up with that?! But luckily, we decided to plan a little over a year, giving us time to plan the hows, whats, whens, etc. And we've had amazing help from family, especially my Mom who is paying for SO much of the vendor bills. This week, our venue, florist, cake and officiant have been paid off! So excited about that! I've also finally purchased my wedding bands, I got two one for each side of my ring. I found a GREAT price for them together, which is about what one band would cost at say Kay's or Zales, so I don't feel too bad about spending the money on TWO. My FH totally shakes his head at me when we talk about the fact that I'm getting both. We orginally talked about maybe getting a second for our 10yr anniversary but then I found a deal on two and he agreed. I also picked up my sparkly Toms I wanted for the reception. And I bought my manzanita branches from Save On Crafts for our Wish/Money Tree. The glass for our cake stand was ordered, hopefully sometime next week it will be ready to be picked up. Similar to pic on side, but my cake and glass will both be round. And lastly, I had already bought my pink kisses at valentine's day, I wanted the black and silver mix I found online but they are now out of stock :( So, i went w/ a big bag of just silver. Those will be for the favor boxes! I really don't have much left to buy now. I do want to shop for a rehearsal dinner outfit and decide what I want to buy for honeymoon and BBQ day before the wedding. But still got some time for that. Next week is my first dress fitting, have to get it hemmed up and add a bustle! The big day feels SO close!! Have a great weekend! XoXo |

Wedding Decoration
Ceremony
I've seen some other brides use the tissue pomanders as decoration at the ceremony. I was trying to find something to add to our arch/altar area. It's outside, and there is an arbor w/ growing wisteria which in itself will be beautiful. But just wanted some extra coloring.
I got the white and fuchsia tissue balls from David's Bridal online, back when they were having their 20% off sale. The ribbon isnt very long that you hang them on, so I decided to hang some crystals from that one and then add a wide black satin ribbon. They will alternate in color when hanging, the bigger fuschia will be longer hanging that the smaller white ones. Also, I stopped by the dollar tree a couple of weeks ago just to peruse and I found those little shephard's hooks, they only had two so I snagged them. I remember a few other brides had used them down the aisle, hanging either pomanders or mini lanterns from them. I am already doing big bows on the chairs, so I was thinking of putting these two hooks at the start of the aisle, facing the way you are walking in. And I putting two of the fuschia pomanders there since I will have enough. I have 6 of each color and def wasn't planning of fitting 12 across the altar. I was thinking 3 or 5 white and 4 fuchsia. Depending on how wide I wanted them. I need to get a measurement and check out the area a little more closely. |
