Well, I see the question a lot of brides ask is REAL flowers or SILK flowers? Well, I asked myself this same question and I've came back with BOTH. I will make my bouquet and the bridesmaid bouquets and I will talk to a florist about the corsages and boutonnieres. I decided flowers can push the budget way over and why, they end up dying and you can't really preserve your bouquet. This is why we pay so much for the photographer, so your photos can remind of your special day.
I have a pretty good plan for the bridal bouquets but I think I'd rather leave it to a professional to get the smaller ones right. I went to JoAnn's in search of orchids. I wanted to see what selection they had for silk flowers and if they looked too fake maybe I didnt want to do that. But I found these white orchids that feel similar to wax and they are very real looking and gorgeous. Very long, full and heavy, perfect for my bouquet and for my floating orchid centerpiece decorations (will post that later). So, with my 40% coupon in hand I started going everyday with my FH and the help of my mom, we got them all bought. They even went on clearance online and I bought the last 6. Then at Michael's I found the same orchid but in pink, in which I'll use for the bridesmaids bouquet. i will use the DIY bouquet holder and wrap the stems in black ribbon. I'll post pictures when I start to tackle this project. With coupon savings I probably spent about $4.00/ea.
