After falling in love with all the DIY aisle runners that all the other fabulous brides have done, I've decided to give it a go. After finishing it, I loved it sooo much I decided to cut that piece off the runner and use it for the front of the sweetheart table at the reception, facing the dance floor and paint another monogram on the aisle runner. The aisle runner had MORE than enough material to spare. I bought the aisle runner with the swirl design at Michael's. They happened to have a special coupon that week for 50% wedidng decor, so it came out to be about $15.00. I already had the paint, which is only about $1/ea.
I made my monogram on Publisher and printed it out, taped together the pages with the help of my FH, then taped everything to the table to trace. After tracing I used wax paper underneath the aisle runner, taped everything down again and started painting. Remember not to make the tracing pencil lines too dark, you dont want them coming through. I had a little more trouble with this for pink, I had to touch up a few places after it dried.
Here is my progress and some inspiration pics. I'll have the mixed pink and white rose petals along the side and a few scattered along the runner iteself as well.
