Nails
To fake or not to fake?
Okay anyone that's read my OTT rant probably knows I'm not amazingly keen on fake nails. But they can look really nice when done properly - however on some people they just look like big fat white and flesh striped paddles. I have a wee fear that I would be one of those people so I'm staying away from french manicures (the really bold ones) for the wedding.

I've usually got some sort of random colour or pattern on my nails but I'm trying to find something that suits the day and my dress without being the french polish that EVERYONE choose.
Has anyone got any ideas? I don't even know if light pink would suit that well!

I guess I'll just have to buy a heeeap of new colours and see what suits me so I can tell the manicurist... what a shame ;)

I like the third picture (really nice fake nails) I'm with you, I hate the ones that look like they are glued on :( Good luck and Congratulations !

I think you can achieve a more natural french manicure (like pic #3) even with having tips applied - they would simply paint on the french manicure rather than rely on the white tips to create that effect and if done properly could look very nice.  I live in GA though, so the fake look is very "in" here anyway, lol.  A very pale shade of pink that is more like the natural color of your nail bed would look very nice also.

I say:  Just get an amazing manicure.  I agree, fake nails are icky-looking.  And don't do anything SO BOLD that it takes attention from the ring!

I would go naturaul- I get my nails done atleast once a month- and they look great now!  they use to look crappy when i stopped going for months- Wedding "rules" say you should start getting your nails done a couple of months before the wedding to achieve that "wedding day look" Good Luck!

Check my blog I have a post about our carriage.  In the post is the picture of my nails.  They were done in a very soft pink with a french tip with a hand painted white and silver design.....sounds like too much but was soft and pretty.
