Wedding Dress
Just call me simple!
I went with a simple -line halter dress with a court train. I got my dress from David's bridal. I went simple because i wanted to jazz it up myself. I purchased a crystal and pearl brooch to pin in the inside of my rose on the side of the dress and being that
I'm going to wear a magnolia in my hair i didn't want all that embellishment on my dress. For my jewelry which i haven't narrowed it down just yet its going to be a combination of diamonds and pearls. For my shoes i went with a ivory platform shoe with an ankle strap for stablilty. The shoes are by Nina and are called Electra. All of this total about $500.

Bridesmaids
My girls dresses!!!
Now on choosing my girls bridesmaid's dresses i did this unconventionally. We ordered from the internet. Now you can call me Queen budget bride cause that is me. I found my girls dresses on www.nexteve.com. The dressed were $49.99 + $20.00 to ship. My colors for my wedding is burnt orange , chocolate and gold. So the colors i choose for my bridesmaids was chocoloate and maid/moatron of honor honor i chose this color called red orange. The only problem with ordering on the net is that if you want a better discount try ordering them together, Its helps alot. Every girl order their size but the majority of them have to get them taking up a little in the breast area, but the companies does offer custom sizing. For there shoes, my mother just so happen to work at a shoe store so i picked a real cute strappy gold heel (will have pics up later). For my flower girls I went on ebay and i found one of the cutest little boutiques on called Kidstudio 1908. The dresses are ivory and gold. Both were brand new and only cost $19.99. Both the bridesmaids and flower girl dress are made out of silk taffeta with silk linings. Teh bridesmaids dresses have pear; detailing at the top and oh yeah i forgot to tel you,i made my flowers girls headbands. I got my flowergirl's shoes at payless. All and all i my bridesmaids spent a total of $80.00!

My Bridal Meeting 8/29/09
This is something that i would definitely recommend to all future brides-a bridal meeting. Its always good to rally up your good girlfriends and talk about old times and whats going on now but its also important to make sure everyone is one accord (with the bride of course). Some of the key points that i talked about with my girls was making sure everyone had their dresses and that all the necessary alterations where taking care of . We talked about hair and makeup. Definitely hair cause they know i'm not a big fan of hard, spritz up, geled up hair! I love for hair to move and flow naturally. I guess its just the hairstylist in me. Don't get it twisted all hairspray is not bad hairspray, but being that this is a service that i'm paying for i have a hands on with the process because it never fells in all the weddings i've been you always have that one that wants to try something different and it don't quite turn out like they visualized. Some of you out there no what i'm talking about, heck it might have been! LOL! On makeup, I bought all the makeup products that my girls will be using and i demonstrated the different makeup techniques on a fair skin and dark skin model so they could see the differents and the what nots and to do's when applying there makeup. We talked about manicures and pedicures. One of my main corcern with this is that i didn't want to see in color only french or clear nails and toes, but this is something that is hard for me cause honey i love some color on these toes but hey if i have to confirm so do they. We talked about alot but the main thing that wasemphasized was time! I plan on having 99% of my pics taking before the wedding, so therefore that requires everyone to be on time. The reason being is that my wedding is at 3pm and reception is at 5pm.
We really had a wonderful time, we ate and also one my girls did a presentation on domestic violence. We enjoyed it so much that were planning to meet once a month to discuss business ventures, different fundraisers and women empowerment. And yes they're just as excited as i am.

My wedding was a blend of traditonal and untraditional. Never been a big fan of tradition because I am my own person but i did include a few traditional things. The theme of my wedding and reception was autumn bliss with a mixture of your rich browns, golds and oranges. Alot of planning went into making sure everything was on point but only half of what i plan made it to that day, but its ok. I really enjoyed and loved every minute of it. I saved alot of money by handmaking alot of my items and simply just asking for what i needed. You know what they say it doesn't hurt to ask and trust me it is very true. It was simple yet elegant. Traditional yet very untraditional.
