Wedding Invitation
Ready to go!
Ive got them all together, addressed and ready to go!!!
The only difference between the pic and the ones I have ready to mail out, is that we had the date added to the little card on the invitation belly band. Im taking them to the post office on Wednesday, which is my day off, and mailing them out!! Yaaaay! Cant wait to start receiving RSVP cards; Lets see how many people take offense to me writing in the number of guests on each individual RSVP card, and the "Adults only, please" Or that for my co-workers I didnt include significant others, Ooops!! I feel bad but we're really trying to stay within out budget..Im sure they'll understand.. ♥ me |

Feathers and ivory
I think I have fallen in love with the look of feathers. They make things look so elegant and different :)
From the beginning I knew I didnt want to use/have flowers as my centerpieces. First because Im on a tight budget, and secondly, Im not a huge flower person. I could care less of fh brings me flowers or not, they're just going to die :/ Once I decided on my centerpiece, which includes using feathers, I told my coordinator I wanted to have feathers incorporated in my bouquet and altar pieces. When we decided on a florist I made sure my coordinator asked that feathers be used, along with some bling..(Im using a lot of hanging crystals and diamond confetti) Also, since my dress is ivory, I decided to add the color ivory as an accent color along with silver. I didnt want my dress to be the only thing that was ivory. Nor did I want EVERYTHING to be pink. So since deciding upon that some of the roses my florist is going to use will be in ivory. Our ring pillow is made of ivory satin, fg dress and basket are in ivory. Fh's vest and tie are going to be ivory as well. Also the toss petals and some of the petals along the sides of the aisle will be in ivory. Has anyone else added/changed things to their original theme/colors/ideas??? What else should be ivory?? Should I have my baker make my cake off white instead of white?? What else should I have be in ivory? Or do you ladies think what I have in ivory, is enough? Thoughts PLEASE!!! ♥ me |

Wedding Flowers
We got a florist!!!
Its about darn time we found a florist!!!!!
I've been looking around for budget-friendly florists, with the help of my coordinator, for the longest time. I had several meetings scheduled with other florists, but they kept getting cancelled due to back to back blizzards. I also looked them up on Weddingwire.com and found that they werent that great. So I decided against using them.. Of course I started to lose hope :/ My coordinator found out about my florist through a collegue of hers. As soon as she told me about her I looked her up on Weddingwire, and she has NOTHING but great reviews!!! And shes willing to work with my budget and my inspiration. (My floral budget isnt that high to begin with since Im not using flowers in my centerpieces or for the ceremony) Heres a break down of what Im getting: 2 bouquets--ceremony & toss= $175 3 corsages= $90 Groom bout= $12 5 bouts= $74 Delivery & set up= $85 Sales tax= $17.55 Total= $453.55 I didnt get bm bouquets because I had poms made by trombonechick, thanks again Amy :) All the flowers will be mostly roses, in different shades of pink and ivory, except for my bouquet which will also have hydrangeas, feathers and crystals. Fh's bout will have feathers, and the corsages will have some crystals. I used this pic as my inspiration.. What do you ladies think?? Am I spending too much or is that about right?? Im happy because Im actually staying lower than my actual intended budget :) ♥ me ps---heres the link to my florist www.creationsinbloominva.com |

Ask a Question
Something borrowed???
What is your..something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue???
My something old: ?? My something new: dress, shoes, jewelry My something borrowed: ?? My something blue: small blue ribbon on the inside of garter I found this information while Googling (I LOVE Googling things, LOL) This is a good luck saying which dates back to the Victorian era and many brides will try and ensure that they have something of each in their wedding outfit. Something Old is meant to represent the link with the bride's own family and the past particularly mother or grandmother or even most distant relations. Something old is symbolic of continuity. To symbolise this link brides may choose to wear a piece of antique family jewellery which belonged to the relative. Alternatatively they may select something from the mother's or grandmother's wedding gown. Other things that may be chosen include a handkerchief, a scarf or a piece of lace. Something New represents good luck and success and the brides hopes for a bright future in her new married life. The wedding gown is often chosen as the new item but it could be anything that is purchased new for the wedding such as the wedding flowers or the wedding rings. Wearing a new item on your wedding day conveys the message that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever. Something Borrowed is to represent to the bride that friends and family will be there for her on the special day and in the future when help is needed. "Borrowing" is especially important, since it has to come from a happily married woman, thereby lending the bride some of her own marital happiness to carry into the new marriage. Anything can be borrowed but it must be returned afterwards. Another way to incorporate a borrowed item into your wedding day attire is to borrow a friend’s piece of jewellery. If you have a close friend who has worn the same necklace for as long as you have known her, you might consider borrowing this particular necklace for your wedding day as a reminder of your friendship. Perhaps she wore the necklace on her own wedding day. Something Blue in ancient times is the symbol of faithfulness, purity and loyalty. Often a blue item is the garter and in olden times the couple wore blue bands on the border of their wedding attire to denote, love, modesty and fidelity. Another way to wear something blue is to include a blue flower in your headdress or theme your wedding flowers in blue. Brides have been honoring the tradition of wearing an old, a new, a borrowed and a blue item during their wedding for centuries. Although wearing these items is supposed to symbolise good luck for the bride, they are also just a fun tradition that gives the bride an opportunity to express her admiration for a few special people in her life on her special day. ♥ me |

Brooches
I had my ring pillow made by an Etsy seller--RomancingJuliet--in ivory with a pale pink bow..Simple and romantic..
I think that by me adding a brooch to the center of the bow, it would give it a more elegant touch.. Where can I find a inexpensive brooch so that I could add it to my ring pillow?? ♥ me |

Centerpiece mock-up
Im not sure who had posted the idea of using a hurricane vase and feathers. But whoever did, THANK YOU!! Because thats where I got the inspiration for my centerpieces.
I showed my coordinator and she LOVED the idea. She said the feathers will make things a little more glamorous. So she came up with a mock-up to see if I like the concept. (Mind you she used what she had, and thats NOT exactly how mines are going to look) I really liked the mock-up, which means YAAAY! My centerpieces are FIANLLY decided upon. They're a little plain, but its OK, I dont want to go overboard on bling, or have too many things going on. Whats even better is that I dont have to buy hurricane vases because she has more than enough. Alls I have to buy is enough feather boas (partyfeathers.com) probably 2 per vase to cover the black base, and for it to be fluffier and pillar candles. She has the vase filler gems, which means I dont have to buy that either. AND she has enough votives to put about 5-6 around each vase. I will probably go without the petals on the table. Instead Im going to scatter light pink diamond confetti (which I ordered from ebay at a great price) What do you ladies think? Should I go with pink or white feathers? White or pink pillar candles?? Or just do all white, and just use the pink diamond confetti as the POP of PINK on the tables?? Im not going to rent specialty linens for the guest tables. Im just going to use what the hotel provides, which is floor length white linens. But I am going to rent white chair covers and sashes. ♥ me |

Bridesmaids
Gifts from me :)
Here is what I got my bridesmaids & Jr bridesmaid as gifts
(I decided against the Juicy slippers as I wanted to get them more than one thing) I got these personalized bags (these are not the actual ones, lol) from Etsy seller: nnichols, inside Im going to put these flip flops that I had made for them, so that we can wear while getting ready & during reception (theres are the ones in pink, mines are the ivory ones) by Etsy seller: smc801. Im also going to put PS, I Love You products by Bath and Body Works. For my Jr Bridesmaid I may put something else in there, shes 8, so I gotta figure that out. Maybe some cute jewelry or a Justin Beiber CD. What do you ladies think?!?!? I cant wait for them to see their gifts!!! ♥ me |

Shades of pink
The colors that I have chosen for my wedding are blush/pale pink, rose petal or dusty rose/mauvish pink, with accents of silver and ivory..
Most of the stuff Im finding arent 100% dead onto my colors. But they're close enough. Like for example the bm dresses are as follow: MOH--pink dress with rose petal sash, bm--rose petal dress with pink sash. And the gm's are wearing a light pink colored vest, tie..But its NOT exact match to the pink on the girls's dresses..And my Jr bridesmaid dress her pinks are a little off as well :/ Am I going about this all wrong?? Is it ok to use different shades of pink, or shades of silver, ones that arent TRUE matches to my colors but close enough??? I dont want everything to end up looking like a box of crayons either. Hope to get some feedback as this is sort of bothering me.. ♥ me |
