Planning on hold?!?
Hey there ladies!!
I know its been a while, but we had tons going on -- holidays, birthdays, a move, and unexpected money issues. So because of that we've put the planning on hold until we get our income tax returns, which hopefully will be soon. Has anybody else have to do this so close to the wedding?!?! I feel like I still have SO much to do, in which I do, and will have SO little time..(BTW -- Im meeting with my coordinator next weekend to figure out whats left to do, and talk decor) I hope we get a good amount from our taxes so that we can continue to make this the wedding of our dreams :) ? me |

How many of you have pets??
We have 1 cat, Boogie..He's about 4 years old..Hes soo funny, cuddley, lazy & cute :) At first FH didnt like him, but he has definately grown on him. Theres plenty of times where he annoys us especially scratching on things he's not supposed to like our couch, or knocking down our Christmas tree, grrrr.. But... Hes still our fur-baby..LOL!! And we LOVE him!! ? me |

First snow of Winter
Its SNOWING here in Northern Virginia!
Its soooo pretty!! I dont mind the snow when I dont have to drive in it. Im not the biggest fan when I have to drive in it JUST to go to work--BLAH! Im glad we dont have any plans for today, just lounge around, pack and clean a little, and maybe watch a movie or two :) The kids are dying to go out and play, but its a wet snow, not a fluffy snow. Does anybody have snow or getting snow now? The other day on the news they were saying that studies have shown that in our area the first snow falls either on December 5th or January 26th. Here we are on the 5th, SNOW and all..For once our meteorologists were right ;) ? me |

A much needed VENT
Hey there ladies..
I know I havent been around much lately but only because we've been dealing with a lot on the homefront. Once we settle into our new apartment and the holidays and birthdays are over I will be back more often. BUT for now I need to vent a little.. Originally I had decided on 3 BM's, my 2 sisters and my BF and 2 GM's, one of my sisters hubby and my BF's hubby who is FH's BF as well. Anyways, I took one of my sisters off because me and her do NOT get along and I didnt want to deal with her drama, and worthless opinions, sad but true. Ohhh, AND shes pregnant and due right around the wedding--UGH!!!! Lately me and my BF, who is my MOH, really havent spoken much. They've become a bit distant with me and FH. I invited her to go check out BM dresses with me and my sister and she had "prior commitments" I sent her a link to the 2 dresses I have decided on, and all's she could say was "I thought they were going to be silver?!?!" Ummmmmmm, seriously?!?! Isn't it MY choice?!?! And NOW--to top things off, my sister who has been trying forever to have a baby is PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! Im super happy for them but at the same time Im like WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I feel so lost, confused, frustrated, and sad... I want both girls to still be a part of our wedding BUT ONLY if they want to be. My sister already said she still wants to walk down the aisle, but my mom seems to think that may NOT be the best idea since she will be close to giving birth.. UGH--Whats a girl to do?!?! ? me |

Friday night question
Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner I thought I would ask:
Whos family are you going to spend it with? And do you always spend Thanksgiving with the same family? Do you ever have any disagreements in regards to this? Do you go shopping after dinner or on Black Friday? We switch it up every year. Last year we spent it with his family since my parents decided not to do Thanksgiving. This year we are spending it with my family and a lot of my cousins are coming in from NY and NJ, and I am excited! We never really have any disagreements on whose family we are going to spend the holidays with. We always follow the same routine unless of course we are entertaining guests for a change, which doesnt happen very often since we dont have enough room for both families. We've only gone shopping on Black Friday once, which was last year, and we got A LOT of the kids Christmas presents at great prices. Since I normally work the day after Thanksgiving, unless Ive asked for the day off IF NO one else has already asked for it before me (a rule we have at work, which SUCKS!) we normally just wait until the craziness has passed a little. This year I work and FH may be able to get a little shopping in, but not sure. One year I would like to go to one of those midnight madness sales, just to say we've done it, lol..They look like fun, although I dont know about standing in line on a cold cold evening..Haha!! ? me |

Hey ladies!
Sorry that I've been somewhat MIA lately--but we've had several unexpected things come up that have put my stress level at an all time high . We lost 2 family dogs in a matter of 2 months, we have to move out of our condo because my mom has decided to short sell it, Im just getting over having swine flu, and my younger, not so responsible sister is pregnant--Major family shocker!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I just feel like screaming or running away from it ALL!!! Needless to say 2009 hasnt been the best year for me and my family. Due to all of this, and having to use the money we've been saving for the wedding--Ive put buying stuff for the wedding on hold until about January-February. Once we have some money saved and we recieve our income tax returns I will get back on the wedding grind. Im hoping that we are able to start fresh in 2010 and that it turns out to be the BEST year for EVERYONE!! I hope to be back and leaving my normal amount of comments on everyones blogs soon. Unity candle
I ordered my unity candle from an Etsy Seller-Ashley @ DomesticDivasFancy. From the moment we started talking, she has always been such a pleasure to work with. She so patient, and kind. She listens to what you want, and is fast.
She even re-created my monogram (just by looking at my STD) since the person who originally created it for my STD's and invites wanted to charge me, extra, just to send me the monogram. I was like NO way!! Im already paying you for the STD's and invites, and NOW you want me to pay for the monogram that I helped create?!?!! NOPE! It wasnt happening. I havent actually received the unity candle, it should arrive on Thursday, but Ashley was kind enough to send me pictures of the finished product. Can ya tell I was anxious to see it?!?! LOL! I LOVE IT!!!! It came out soooo lovely!! She followed my inspiration to the TEE!! Im soo excited, and cant wait to have it in my hands! Along with the unity candle shes also sending me samples of favor tags, escort cards, table numbers and menu cards. I cant wait to see those too! Ashley, if you're reading this; THANK YOU!!! You are awesome! I totally recommend her to anyone whos looking for a unity candle. What do you ladies think?! ? me |

I have chosen a dress..or two, lol!
Yesterday me and my step-sister, who is one of my BM's, went to Davids Bridals to take a look at their dress selection and for her to try some on.
I had already written some style numbers that I liked from their website, which made it easier on the salesgirl to help us. She brought out like 5 styles at a time. My sister was soo patient and kind enough to try on every dress. She had tons of fun doing it, LOL! There were some nice ones, and some not so nice ones.. Sooooooooooooo, what all that being said.......DRUMROLL PLEASE!!!! I have chosen a style and color for my BM's!!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Although I originally wanted them to wear tea-length dresses, they both wanted a longer dress, because one hates her chicken legs while the other has to wear flats due to a bad knee. So I went with their wishes..See, Im a good bride to be/friend/sister :) Its style F13573 in Candy Pink. At first I was a bit skeptical on how it the Candy Pink would look in person..But its actually very nice. It compliments all skin tones. And the dress is BEAUTIFUL! It is very flattering, which my girls were worried about. And its not that expensive-$135. There is another style that I really liked as well, which I will keep as an optional dress..And that one will either be in Candy Pink or Rose Petal. Im glad that I got this out of the way. Now alls they have to do is order their dresses, which I hope they do soon, because it takes about 6-12wks to receive them. And if they were to need alterations they would have more than enough time to do them. As far as shoes, they can choose whichever style they like, whatever is comfortable for them. I would just want them to be silver. Hairstyles--I have given them the look that I like for them. But I dont think their hair would be long enough to do it. Soooo, Im leaving that up to them. They just have to run the style by me first, LOL! I cant wait to see everybody looking all pretty and stuff ;) ? me |

200 days to go
..and still so much to do!
Time is flying right before our very eyes. As of today we have 200 days left until the BIG DAY! Yaaaaay! I am so excited yet Im beginning to panic just a little.
We have had some stressful and unexpected things happen to us these past few weeks, which have put wedding planning etc; on hold until things are back in order and we have more $$. Ive done several things here and there, but still have A LOT to do. (Im not going to list them right now as Im too embarrassed to even let you guys know what I STILL have to do :/) I just recently ordered our unity candle from Ashley @ DomesticDivasFancy (Etsy seller). I should be receiving it sometime soon. I cant wait to see the final product. I also went to DB with one of my BM's to check out dresses and to see how they look in person rather than online. Im hoping everything will continue to fall into place, and time doesnt fly by TOOOOOO TOOO fast. ? me |
