Ask a Question
veil wearing????
i want to get you bride's opinion on this matter...

Are you wearing a veil the WHOLE wedding? I want to wear a veil, but my hair style(undecided) is going to be so nice that i want everyone to see it(not a diva). Is it okay to wear it to the ceremony and not the reception?

I am borrowing my best friends (my bridesmaid) as my something borrowed. It is ivory with champagne accents (like my dress) and is still in great condition because she was married in September.  I am going to have it steamed a day or so before and ta-da! It saves me $80 from David's and it was the same veil I wanted.

I was iffy about the idea because my father has passed and so has my mother, so the traditional meaning was lost on me. But, as someone in the bridal boutique told me "Until you add a veil, you just look like a pretty girl in a white dress. But, with the veil, you look like a pretty bride". Obviously, she just wanted to sell the whole ensemble for more commission, but when we went back and I told her my bridesmaid was letting me borrow the same veil, she seemed genuinely happy that I had chosen to wear one.

As far as when I'm wearing it--during the ceremony, for semi formal pictures and then until it starts to bother me and I take it off!

EDIT: It's okay to wear it for just the ceremony! It's okay to do whatever you want!

I know that I'm only wearing it for the ceremony and I really think that most brides decide to do the same...

Sure, I don't think too many brides do wear it the whole night. Wear it for the ceremony, and then show off your great hair the rest of the night!

I'm wearing a fingertip veil and would like to wear it all day. I feel it makes my big fat arms look smaller.

I'm only wearing it for the ceremony but it's true: until you put the veil on you're just a girl in a pretty white dress. When I tried my dress on with the veil I felt complete. But I am going to take it off as I am changing into a second dress for the reception.

I am wearing an elbow length veil for the ceremony and taking it off at the reception. It will be too hot to wear a veil the whole day lol My veil is really puffy so it would be umcomfortable to wear it that long.

I'm wearing a cathedral veil so I plan to only wear it during the reception and possibly for the outdoor pics afterward...after that it's off! I am wearing a tiara so that will help keep away from the pretty girl in a white dress idea!

Of all the wedding's I've been to (or been in!) the bride always takes the veil off when she is ready to party!  I'm not sure about my hairdo as of right now, but I think if you want to take it off during the reception, then go ahead!

I wore my veil walking down the aisle and during the entire ceremony and removed it for the reception.  Just thought it's easier to move around! :D

I wore mine during the wedding and ditched it after the pics and before the reception... don't know if you have seen it, but I got the hook up on my blog!!
