Bouquets now complete!
Okay, this weekend I went to a bridal show and saw a beautiful bouquet that I loved. The flowers were wrapped in tulle, and I thought that was so unique and cool. I decided to try that with the bouquets I already had.. and tada!! I superglued on the bows and little flower in front of the bow. I'm so happy with them!

Ask a Question
Do you ever second guess your honeymoon plans?
When we first booked ours I was so excited. We're going for 1 week to Punta Cana at the Blau Natura Park Resort and Spa. I thought it sounded so great, the only problem, we'll be gone over christmas. I thought that I would love for us to spend our first x-mas married together alone on vacation, but now I'm worrying I'll miss the big hoopla of christmas. Do you ever second guess your plans?

My flowergirl basket
I made this a while ago but haven't posted it yet. It was actually pretty easy, I wrapped wired sequin ribbon around the handle, glue gunning every so often, then around the edges I painted it with a foam paint brush using snow paint. Then I glue gunned on some sparkly plastic snowflakes. Lastly I dabbed some of the snow paint on the sides. For the hanging heart I used a rhinestone heart and used a bit of the wired ribbon to loop through the heart, and glue gun it hanging in place.

My Bridal shower was awesome!
I had so much fun
Donna and her sisters and Carla did an amazing job! Even though alot of people cancelled last minute and we ended up with less people than we thought, it was still wonderful.
I had no idea I was supposed to have a speech prepared!! I wish someone had told me that was an awfully awkward moment! "I uh.. I'd like to thank everyone for the lovely uh gifts, and for coming... and I'd like to thank Donna, Cathy, Vicky, Carla and Lauren for planning this shower. I have um, gifts for you all as a thank you... so thanks.." Pretty much. LOL I'm adding some pics of my favorite moments. I think for me the best part was when Richard came in at the end and we got him with the g-string on his head, the veil and feather and had him hold up the nightie I got. lol. It was seriously lots of fun, and I enjoyed the games, and just everyone being there. Not to mention the amazing food! |

Bridal shower
Looks like I spoke too soon!
So, it looks like my grammy and aunt Bonita will be coming after all! I'm so glad. My uncle Earl came by to drop off a card for the shower from him and his wife. It was very sweet of them. I was so suprised because Earl and Linda live 2 hours away from us, so I really wasn't expecting anything from them. I guess Linda has a hard time leaving the house, so I was pretty sure she wouldn't come, but I didn't expect them to give me a gift either! :)
Oh! My battery is about to run out on my laptop!! I'll post tomorrow after the shower if I'm not exhausted!! |

Bridal Shower
Excited and a bit sad
So I'll do the bad first:
Nearly no one from my side will be there. From my side my mother, my sister, my aunt Darlene, my friend Meaghan, my MOH, my moms friends Tina and Sydnee will be there. It's likely my grandmother won't come. She's in her 80's and has a cold. If she doesn't come my aunt Bonita won't come. My aunt Marilyn is gone away, my aunt Janice is working, my other grandmother doesn't have a drive without Janice, and lives 2 hours away. Four of my friends can't make it. :( Needless to say that's disapointing. The good news: I'm actually okay with it now. I thought I was going to cry, and I was on the verge of tears. I called my friend Meaghan, we haven't spoken in a while, but just talking and bitching with her made me feel better about it. I realized I may have been being a bit selfish, and that my shower is not as important as the wedding. I was feeling like they didn't care enough about me to come to the shower, but I shouldn't think like that. Some of them have really good reasons not to be there. I realized I am so lucky to have Donna and her family as my FIL's. They're so wonderful for planning my shower, and I am so grateful to them. They didn't make me feel bad once that they wound up doing it, and instead they seemed more than happy to, and that makes me really glad to be part of their family. |

Ask a Question
Pictures at night?
My wedding is at 7pm on December 20th. The sun sets here at 4pm on that date. There isn't even a smidgen of a chance we'll have some light to take out door pictures with. My photogrpaher told us we won't really be able to do outdoor pictures. Maybe a few, but he said the background would be black.
I'm kind of concerned because before we booked him he basically said it wouldn't be a problem and he could bring his own lighting. At our last meeting though he said the flash would light us up, but leave the background black. He said we could do some near street lights and stuff. It's not like I'm expecting beautiful outdoor summer scenery, but I was picturing snowy pictures. :( I know people will say we can take them together before sunset, but we don't want to see each other before the ceremony. I have my heart set on walking down the aisle being the first time we see each other that day. I also can't get dressed up and all that early to take pics with the girls, because we have a spa day planned. :( Oh well. I am planning on doing a trash the dress shoot this summer, so I guess I'll just have to wait until then to get my beautiful outdoor shots of us. My question I guess is does anyone have any ideas for indoor picture locations? Someone suggested hotels but I'm not sure how to approach the hotel? What would I say to them? |

Bridal Shower
So.. my bridal shower is saturday...
and two of my girls were supposed to plan it and everything with the help of FMIL. I trust them to do it, and everything, the place, time, date are set, and the invites sent out. It had to be that weekend because my mom goes back to her military training the next week.
Basically, they had a month to plan, and both wanted to do it. They were going to throw me one anyway and I asked if they could do it before my mom leaves. They said yes, and started planning, so I thought. I got an e-mail from one of them last night backing out because she has to work. I call my MOH who was also planning it and she had no idea, and is now completely lost. So I said I would help her. Is it wrong of me to help plan my own shower? I feel like it is, and I'm a bit disappointed that I have to, but it's in a week, and I don't think she can do it alone. :( I went out last night and bought napkins and plastic cutlery and today I'm going out to get candy for the favours and some decorations. I even said I would make finger sandwiches for it. I wish everything had fallen into place like I was under the impression it was, but there's nothing that can be done now. I e-mailed FMIL to ask if she could help out as she said she and her sisters could bake stuff. Now I'm racking my brain trying to think up prizes for a few shower games. It really sucks, that I'm planning/paying for my own shower too. If the invites weren't already sent and everything, and if it wasn't for my mom leaving I'd postpone it, but my mom is already upset she'll miss my bachelorette, and a lot of the planning, so she's really looking forward to being at my shower. :( |

DJ
We finally have one!!
Well this morning we got an e-mail back from FFIL's friend who is a DJ. He will play our reception from 8:30-12:30 with lights, and provide a mic for our MC for 400$. I'm so happy, because that's pretty much all we could afford right now. I'm way too excited. I was so depressed thinking we wouldn't be able to afford one, and we'd end up renting speakers and using my laptop. :( But now we have one, so all is good. :D
I also asked my friend Stacy to be our MC and she's really excited about it. I'm so glad, 'cause Stacy rocks at public speaking. She has so much energy and never fumbles for words like me. lol. I'm picking her up a book with suggestions and everything. :D |
