Inspiration Board
Purple is my favorite color but I need help trying to find the right shade for my wedding. Can you help me?

I have loved the color purple my entire life but there are so many shades that Im having a hard time trying to decide. I was leaning towards purple and white but what kind of purple? I saw some really cute bm's dresses in plum but then I have to consider the color of my invites, cake, etc. I also think chocolate lavender is kinda cute too. Can someone give me a few suggestions of color combinations that goes great with purple and what kind of purple. Thanks!

I am all about purple I adore it. I am using richer purple's like eggplant and Victorian purple with hints of softer purple and green. It is actually very challenging to coordinate with all the shades available (especially shopping on line). I have taken to carrying around my "ideal purple" sample" and using that to base other color choices. I do not like only having two colors as the palette for the whole wedding, I much prefer a coordinating spectrum of color, the same way a bouquet is created and the overall effect is very beautiful

you should check out the paint section in any home improvement store or walmart and look at their paint swatches.  They have the sample swatches that you can take and use that as your base.  They should have most every type of color purple adn you can see them all at once.

Purple is my color too.  I really like it and I grown more fond of it now that I am planning my wedding, and also it seems to be one of my FH's favorites.

I found it as hard as you to pick a shade, therefore I am doing my decor with all the shades together (lavender, plum, eggplant) and is turning out amazing better that I was hoping for.  However, the BMs dresses are in Eggplant Purple, but the flowers, the ribbons, and everything else we are using different shades, I was finding it too hard to find everything in the same shade.

You should try that, just like your inspiration board that looks awesome with those shades of purple.  It will be the same with your decor.

Ah, by the way in my flowers I also added cream color.

Hey that's my inspiration board! lol I am having the same problem there are so many different kinds of purple, and the shade you like may not be the most common and can be difficult to find. I think if you are pairing it with chocolate, I would go with a lighter purple and with the white you can really choose any purple, maybe go with lighter purples if your wedding is in the summer and the plum if its a winter wedding. Its your wedding though and you can choose any colour you want!
I think ive decided to have a few different shades of purple and accent it with ivory and maybe add some light pink.

like fletcher2b said, i would just go with the spectrum of  shades of  purple... that can be so pretty! i think it would be really pretty to see one style BM dress in different shades, maybe going from light to dark or dark to light... you can be so much more creative this way, instead of sticking to only one shade. like everyone else said, that can be too difficult. both mine and my FH favorite color is red... i wish we had an easier color so i could do the same thing... i think with red the brick reds and bright reds don't necessarily compliment eachother, whereas colors like pinks, purples and maybe greens look good in spectrum. well, good luck!

Purple is my color as well. At first I was using just two shades of purple (orchid and a dark purple) and now for a little pop I'm bring a little green into the picture. Purple also goes great with silver/gray as well! Good luck!
