Has anyone bought a kit like this one?
Has anyone started to change their name?
I'm wondering...

7 more months!!
Yay!!
In exactly 7 months from today I'll be waking up on my wedding day! I can't waaaaaaaait for it to get here!! And I'm very excited that tomorrow it's going to be 6 months and 30 days! haha I love seeing the month go down, woo hoo! I've got a LOT done but there is still so much to do!
In the next month I will be getting my first fitting....They'll be doing the bustle and the hem only and then later (especially after I loose some weight) we'll worry about taking it in. That way the cost will be split up as well. SO one thing I really need to get in the next month is the undergarments, I need those before the appointment on January 10th! Then after that I want to focus on finding a florist & someone to do my hair and make up! |

Warning- long, mushy post ;)
A little (or a lot) about him, me, our story & the proposal
I really didn't write much about him, our story or the proposal like everyone else has but who knows, maybe I'm feeling a little mushy and want to share. :)
We met the summer after we graduated high school. Everyone had nothing better to do than to go hang out at target parking lot at night (or sometimes the park & ride or other places). They were all into cars and such and I started to go there with a girl I met at the place I was working at the time. Chance was there every night that I went, I knew who he was but never actually spoke to HIM. I dated a couple of his friends, one of my friends dated him, but still, I never spoke to him. On Halloween in 2003, I said something to him, can't remember what....we were all hanging out that night and there wasn't that many people there, but it wasn't significant enough for me to remember I guess. But I know we talked briefly, but again after that I didn't speak to him. Then ONE night my friend Christina & I made cookies for all of our friends and it was the 18th of December I think. Well since it was cold we no longer sat around outside, we went into Barnes & Nobles and just had coffee, read some magazines and sat around (just a few of us). For some reason when your younger, when you leave you have to give everyone a freaking hug. Well there was only a few people there and I gave everyone a hug and then there was Chance, I didn't really know him, I'd never spoken much to him but I felt bad excluding him from a hug! haha so I gave this almost stranger really a hug! Well the next day, guess who calls me?! Chance! haha he had asked one of our mutual friends for my number and wanted to hang out with me. Sometimes I think, what if I hadn't given him a hug?! :) He says it wasn't the hug but who knows :) We hung out a couple times and he got sick and I couldn't see him for a couple days, that wasn't fun...but he was cute and came and met me at safeway when he was getting medicine so I could see him for a couple minutes. Then the day after christmas in 2003 I got a "so...uh will you go out with me?" haha and TWO days after we started dating he told me he loved me. We've done a lot together and have had some really great times, we are coming up on 5 years and I'm so happy that we have made it to where we are now! Now sadly, we did break up briefly in 2005 :( I hate talking about it, it was terrible and I wish it didn't happen, but at the same time I think it almost helped our relationship in some weird way. We were both 18 when we started dating and it was really tough and we were still growing up and maturing. My aunt and uncle broke up briefly when they were young too, and they've been married like 30 years so I don't feel too bad about it. We know that we are making the right decision, we both have had the chance to grow up and mature and we are completely in love and committed to each other. So we'll just block that time period out :) Now a little about Chance....he has many hobbies...when I say many, it's an understatement. He has fish tanks, he's into RC cars and airplanes, video games, his car (which he's not as much into as he used to), and he does other random things like try and make robots and such. haha you wouldn't know that he does all of this unless you REALLY know him, I think it's dorky in a super cute way. I'll put it this way, it makes him happy and I'd much rather him be home with me working on all his hobbies than going out to any bars or clubs! haha Anyway, he works for his mom & step dad doing plumbing and has been since I've known him. He's smart and sweet and like I said he has a dorky side not many people know about and I love it. He helps me with things and doesn't mind watching girly movies. He doesn't like chocolate or much desserts but then he loves chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake. His favorite restaurants are red lobster and bob evans. Everytime I want to go out to dinner, those are always his suggestions. When he promises me something with have to do a pinky promise and kiss it, haha and yes we only do this in private. He talks to his mom and dad every single day on the phone along with many other people. He's always on the phone. He doesn't like rollarcoasters thank god because neither do I. He always knows how to fix things and if he doesn't, he'll figure it out. He's changed so much from when we started dating, he used to be a lot more shy and he would have a temper sometimes and now he talks to people all the time and he's such a softy, I think I'm the one with the temper now! haha I'll do a brief thing on myself. I work as an office manager at a mental health clinic....I love most of the clients, but it's absolutely a tough job. I'm short (barely 5 feet)...I like to be crafty, I go to sleep really early...I don't like to drink really, it makes me sleepy. When I get excited I rub my hands together, haha it's a quirky weird thing I do but Chance thinks it's cute, so it's okay I guess. I like to travel, I'll go anywhere, I just want to see places and do things, I get bored with the same old same old. Yea and that's it I guess :) The proposal: First let me tell you that I wanted this SO bad. I waited and waited and waited and wondered when he was going to do it, I was dying to start planning and to call him my husband! Well on fathers day this year (2008) I was sitting on my lap top on the living room couch, just like I am now. We weren't ready to get ready to leave for the day yet. And he just says "Amy, Trixie is trying to get your attention". And I had already been on the laptop long enough so I put it down and she jumped on my lap and I saw her collar with the ring on it. My first thought was did he buy something pretty for her collar, my second thought was omg omg omg omg omg omg omg is this really happening, and I just looked at him and before I got a chance to burst into tears he says "Amy, will you marry me?" (No knee or anything, he was just sitting next to me). And my response "Are you serious" as I'm balling my freaking eyes out. You would have thought a family member died, we must have been there for 10 minutes while I was planted in his chest crying. Sometimes coming up for air and saying "are you serious" again. And this is the exact reason I told him whenever he does it I wanted it to be a private moment. I don't think I actually ever said yes, maybe I did but it was definitely implied. It was a perfect moment for us, it was private and we love our animals so I love that he put it on her collar. Before we got engaged I wanted the things like him asking my dad, him getting down on one knee, and pictures of our engagement. But it was a perfect moment and the only thing I look back on and wish, is having pictures of the moment or at least right after. By the way, he asked me on fathers day because he thought I wouldn't expect it, and he was so right, haha. But since it was fathers day and I was on my way to my dads I didn't know if I should wait until I got there to tell him or call him and let him know. Well I got ready and decided I would just tell him when I got there, but on the way I was just so excited I couldn't wait and I called him. It was a good day. I'm really looking forward to marrying him, calling him my husband, and people calling me Amy Pearce! I can't wait to buy our first home and have babies! I'm fortunate enough to have found someone that gets me excited about our future, someone I can trust to be there for me, someone who makes me feel comfortable and safe. And someone who I love with all my heart and for whatever reason loves me back :) |

Honeymoon
All this planning is distracting me from it!
I know I've already posted about the details of the honeymoon, but this is my excitement post! haha
We are going on a cruise to bermuda and I can't wait! We've never done a vacation like this...EVER! So it's a big deal to both of us! I've been so concentrated on the wedding that I feel like I don't have time to get excited about the honeymoon but I'm trying to do research and such on things we can do there! So far I've found a place that does sunrise horse back riding on the beach and they give you breakfast afterwards! How romantic is that?! I can't wait, it'll be amazing! I went to borders and bought a travel guide to get me excited about some of the shops and activities they have there! And I googled some of the art shops because we are both definitely sure we want to come home with a nice piece of art to display in our home!! Which is another great thing about not taking a plane! p.s. everyone should buy a travel guide! It's so exciting! I plan to get little post it page flags and flag things I must do, important information, etc. We are only there for a short time so I want to make sure I know everything that I must see! And be able to relax the rest of the time! We are bringing our tripod to make sure if no one is around to take our picture, that we'll be able to capture the moment anyway!! And I just can't WAIT to wake up the morning after our wedding...eat breakfast and drive to baltimore...get on the boat and let the fun begin! I am SO happy there is no gap between our wedding and honeymoon. :) :) :) <~~~~~ This is me EXCITED! |

Weekend DIY fun!
Thank you cards & more on the card box!
I decided to make thank you cards!! I only will need about 35, and I already made 7 tonight in less than an hour! With a little help, I'll have them done in no time! woo hoo. But of course I have plenty of time, I don't need them for awhile! What do you think?!
And I decided to use my old cake topper that I bought previously on my card box...I was a little nervous sticking the holes in the card box because if it didn't look good I would have two holes in the top of the box! But I think it looks cute :) |

Cake topper!
It came in!
Yaay it came in this week! Had a minor set back when the FI thought it was bent and tried to bend it straight and broke it slightly, but glued it and you'd never even know! haha But I love it! It's very delicate and just a little bigger than the other one but I think it'll look great!! :)

My pups!
I just wanted to share pictures of my dogs, Tonka & Trixie!! They are my favorite ever and I love them to pieces! They are both papillons and Tonka is almost 4, Trixie is 9 months! Tonka is absolutely purebred...trixie is supposed to be but she's inching closer to one year and doesn't have even close to her full hair! We'll see, but she's our pretty baby anyway...her tail at least has gotten fluffy since these pictures! :)
I wish they could be a part of the wedding, it would be so funny as we are big animal people, we have lots of animals....but at the same time, it would be such a headache to worry about them, but I'll sure miss them! |

Yay shoes!!!
Picked them up today!
8 more months from today until we get marrieddddddd....woo hoo!!
So instead of waiting for the weekend, I took my lunch break and drove up to davids bridal to pick up my shoes!! hooray! They were a little sloppy with the dye in the inside but whatever, I'll have them on and you won't see them right!? And the watermelon (thank goodness) was the RIGHT color! I'm so glad I switched it! I usually wear size 8 but sometimes 8 is too big so the only size in the store they had was size 7 and it was obviously too tight but I took the chance and ordered 7 1/2 but I tried them on and they fit perfect!! I can't wait to try them on with my dress! |

Found some cute gifts
I got a catalog in from this place and I have no idea how or why but I looked through it last night and found some cute things, and for cheap too! But you really have to sift through....some of it is cheesy, cheap, etc. but there was some things worth buying! But they had some stuff I might get for christmas, who knows...
BUT for the wedding related items, I found a few good gifts and for the brides getting groomsmen NFL related items, they have some on here too! I know most of you have seen those little liqour chocolates but this place has wine truffles for $10 a box, I thought it might be something interesting to get parents and such.... They have these cute little jewlery holders for $6 a piece!! And for people that love Marilyn Monroe, they have little gift sets for 8 dollars! And I just love this little glass plate with the holder, you can do so much with it, and it's only 7 or 8 dollars I think! it's lakeside.com |

Garter??
I want to buy it but...
I have no idea what color to get!! I'm feeling very picky and thought I'd ask for some opinions! My dress is white and I'm getting hot pink shoes...
a pink garter might be too much with the shoes and really hard to buy a matching color I've seen some super cute black and white ones that I love but i think it would look wierd white is soooo boring but I might end up going with it! haha I've though about white with pink ribbon OR davids bridal has the white garter with colored linening that I could match my shoes perfectly..... And I found cheap veils at garter lady on etsy.com p.s. my shoes came in! I didn't get a call so I called Davids Bridal to check on them and they were ready....it was a little annoying but no big deal.....I want to go pick them up asap!!!! woo hoo And while I was on the phone I made my first alteration appointment for the bustle and maybe the hem and then i'll do the rest closer to the wedding....so between now and january i need to go buy my undergarments! :) Anddddddd tomorrow is 8 months! yaaay...Do the rest of you get excited the day after 9 months or 8 months or so on....because technically on wednesday it's going to be 7 months and 30 dayssssssssss :) And the 7 month part excites me even if it's still 7 months and 30 days! haha |
