Candy Buffet
Another Question
How much candy is everyone using for their candy buffet? I have about 275 guests. So far I have about 22 different shaped glass containers.

i have about 10 vases so far but i am kind of addicted to buying them now...lol and i still have a year to go so i will probably end up buying more but i am only going to use about 10 of them for the buffet and i am using alot of smaller ones. we really don't want there to be 9472357275lbs of candy left over. neither of us are very big candy eaters. i rather run out then have some left over.

I have been looking into a candy buffet also.  I will have about 200 guests, so I guess I should get anywhere from 15-20 containers?  I'm not sure what candy yet though, my main color is a burnt orange, so I'm kinda limited in that color!  I thought maybe some candy apples though, and other "fall" candy, since my theme is a fall theme.  I think this idea is growing like crazy, so maybe by the time I get married (10-10-09) there will be plenty of help from all of these lovely brides :)

This is a great site about candy buffets.  http://www.favorideas.com/wedding-blog/candy-buffet-ideas/
They say to get 5-10 types of candy and 10-20 pounds of each.  You would think that is ridiculous, but its realisitic.  Try putting some kind of candy into your containers, I tried putting the new hersheys bliss into one container of mine I got from walmart, not even that big and I put 3 9.6 ounce bags into it and it didnt even make a dent.  I am also having a candy buffet and I know for sure I am getting jelly bellys, gumballs, and m&ms.  I know I will be getting 10 pounds of each jelly Bellys, and the gumballs come in cases of 850.  The m&m's are expensive so Im still trying to find a decent price.  Other than that Im going to get alot of packaged candy because I cant imagine all that candy tasting normal after mixing it with so much stuff.  Im going to get dum dum suckers, rock candy, big pixie sticks, pop rocks, fun dips, candy necklaces, ring pops.......Most of the items candy be purchases at cosco or sams club in bulk and cheap.  Other good websites are groovycandies.com and candywarehouse.com.  Good luck!

I am also having a black and white wedding with red accents and having a candy buffet! However, I am using white gumballs, white and chocolate covered pretzels, tooties rolls, oreos, and muddy buddy.  These are just some cheap things I have thought of that I can make in bulk instead of buying.  Hope it helps!
