How long did you date before you got engaged?
1 year... but we have been great friends for about 8 years now

Did you get the ring you wanted?
Yes!

Was the proposal a complete surprise?
Yes we ventured to the beach which is always our little getaway. My brother and his fiance accompanied us this time which was odd but hey the more the merrier. The last morning he woke me up to breakfast in bed at the butt crack of dawn. I was so ill and groggy but he walked over to the balcony and said "Oh my God! Come look at what someone did." He knows I am nosey so I ran over to see and there in the sand was a huge heart with "Rita, will you marry me?" inside of it and when I turned around he was on his knees with my mother's engagement ring. I am a big daddies girl and my father passed away and I always said I wanted to find a way to include my father in my wedding. Well my FH listened and he knew to have the ring that my father propsed to my mom with would just blow me away and it did! Gosh, I love that man! Needless to say I said yes!!!!

No, it's perfect!

The jury is still out but the grooms cake will be football with his three jerseys on it (high school, college and semi pro)

white gold and I like the titanium band for men

lots of loose curls for the ceremony and one side pulled back with a feather for the reception

He will wear a gray tux.

He will be 30 and I will be 28

Me mostly but my family and friends will pitch in when I need their help

So, I gave the davidsbridal.com dress your wedding tool a whirl! What do you think? I wasn't happy with the color choices I wanted teal but this is what they had, jade or oasis! I prefer the gray tux but I didn't care for the way that particular tux looked. I still intend to use gray though, lol!

I was wondering if this would be too much to incorporate into the theme. I wanted my flower girls to wear these wings. I would like to change them though and add purple to it.

Okay so after looking and trying to consistently match burnt orange and having no luck I'm switching things up a bit! However if anyone has any advice I would gladly apprecite it! I keep seeing the peacock theme but at first I was like how am I going to incorporate purple into the theme. After doing my fair share of research I see that there are a lot of different touches you can add to the peacock theme!

Okay so I posted this pic almost a month ago and forgot to actually blog about it!!! Scattered brain at times I guess but nonetheless I have a small dilemma..... MY WEDDING COLORS! I have alsways been inspired by the sunset and my fiance and I have spent a lot of time on the beach together watching sunsets. I figured it would only be right if the wedding was based on those elements. Im not a fan of pink so I focused on the purple and orange. Purple is my favorite color anyway so that was perfect for me. However in doing research I didnt see much to help my vision until I saw this bouquet and I fell in love!!!!! The wedding will be in October 2012 and I dont want to do it right on the beach but close enough to be able to see it. Therefore, it will be outside and Im in South Carolina so trust me it's still warm outside. I know I have a sometime to get my theme together but Im the type of person who likes to be ahead and Im a lil bit of a perfectionist!!!! If anyone has seen anything remotely close to what Im invisioning I would greatly appreciate any advice!!!!! Thanks!!!!
