Boutonnieres

Step by step to make gorgeous boutonnieres....

I found this on Thebridescafe.com a great web site. I hope this helps someone. I'm planning to make our boutonnieres and these are simple yet gorgeous.

Hillary shares all the info on the making of her cute DIY bouts......"These are the boutonnieres I made for my dear friend's wedding. I fought (in a nice way) with the groom over the issue of boutonnieres for months because he didn't want anything girly. Thanks to some inspiration from Janie, I came up with these and he LOVED them.

The star of this boutonniere is the fiddlehead also known as a fern curl. I am lucky enough to have the San Francisco Flower Mart nearby, which is where I got all of the flowers for these. Check around with your local flower mart vendors or florists."

Trim each plant or flower down to about 8 -10 inches in length.

Arrange together in a pleasing manner.

Secure with floral tape, wrapping tightly.

Cover the floral tape with ribbon. Secure with pin

These will hold for about 24 hours. I made them the night before the wedding and put them in the fridge, the fiddleheads drooped at about 11pm the next day, well after all photos.

Use two pins to secure on a jacket behind the lapel.

And here are a few images of the actual bout worn by the groom....images courtesy of Jess Epstein Photography.

Thanks SO much Hillary...as ALWAYS, you did an AMAZING job...so cute....I love them!
