Ask a Question
What Time is Your Ceremony Starting??

I think we should change our time now!? Our wedding is July 1st and right now it's starting at 5 o'clock.... and my poor bridesmaids will be wearing black dresses =( I'm thinking we should start it later in the evening but since our wedding is on a Thursday the ceremony/reception site closes at 11pm NO EXCEPTIONS....

So if we start the ceremony later in the evening that will cut our reception time. I don't know.... maybe I should change the color of my bridesmaid’s dresses?

What time is your ceremony starting????

My ceremony is starting at 6pm. I would recommend starting a little later mainly for your guests. Since most people will be coming from work you want to give them enough time to get there. Just keep that in mind. I wouldn't change the color of the dresses, I think they'll be hot no matter what you put them in.

our ceremony is starting at 630pm, but we are allowed to stay until 1am. is your ceremony going to be outside and you're worried the girls are going to get too hot?

sorry girls...forgot to mention that the ceremony/reception is outdoors in a garden. The wedding is on a Thursday however, it's July 4th weekend.

Ours is starting at 5, our ceremony is outside, but dinner and the reception are inside and on  a balcony. We have the reception area until 130am. so..
I think your girls wil be hot either way, but a little later wont be too bad. you will still get in a couple hours of celebration.

Being a Bay Area bride as yourself. Our invites said 4:00. Our intentions was it starting at 4:30 ish and over by 10:00. We had to be out by 12:00 midnight ourselves. Unfortunately, the guests didn't leave until 10:30-11:00 and left us with geting everything out of there in 1 hour. NOT!!!! We ended up getting out of there at 1:15ish, but the crew there were very understanding and didn't sweat us after all. Our guests were having so much fun and there was plenty of food. They didn't want to leave...it was a good thing. Some helped with the clean up.

I wouldn't worry about changing your time...if anything, I would start it earlier so that you can have a longer reception :) I think that your guests and bridesmaids will be hot no matter what so maybe making cute little fan programs or something would help.

My ceremony is starting at 2pm and reception at 6pm until late into the evening. However, both are indoors so we won't be worrying about the heat.

I know exactly what you mean, my wedding is on July 3rd and the reception will be in Gilroy CA, outdoors too. It could be as nice as 80 degrees or hot like 95 degrees. My girls have a choice of strapless so that could help with the heat, and they are wearing teal and grey, hopefully not too hot. But by 5:00 pm it should start cooling down since you’re by the bay. Like the last bride said you can start earlier to have more time at the reception. Mine will start at 3:00pm with some snacks and drinks and dinner at 4:30…I have a gap between the ceremony and reception, so I’m giving people some time to stay inside before they have to go out if it is hot.
