Are people just not commenting as much anymore???

I've noticed that also.  Maybe more brides are simply looking around to get ideas.  I'm starting to think my posts are like spam emails...even if it's viewed I may not get a response.  :~)  Kinda defeats the purpose of the site.

Oh well, I have a few buddies (like you) that I know will give me comments or suggestions and I'm cool with that.

sometimes if I'm not signed in it doesn't let me post a response (not really sure why), I'll write the response, hit send and it shows an error msg...I get frustrated and just close the whole thing :S

or sometimes I'll look at a post but don't know how to respond:S

Tiggre, rodrhonda, pb2my, mauibride are all usually pretty good at responding also. If someone responds to one of my posts i usually make it a point to go to their site also to see if i missed something by them...it's nice to return the favor.

I too feel like it defeats the purpose of this site to just view other peoples ideas and not comment and give your input...I could go to the knot for that (shuns away from evil glares) LOL

Oh I love to comment and get comments, I'm always commenting on older posts though it seems..

I always try to leave comments too. I have noticed that on my own posts. It only really bothers me if I've asked a question about something and nobody comments on it.

Yeah if I am just posting something for my own records or what not its no big deal if there are no comments. But if I ask a question and no one responds...then it kind of irks me.

lmao - Every post I read - I leave a comment like 90% of the times.
Sometimes (like a few posts) there were like 20 comments and I felt that everyone wrote what I felt so no need to add an additional comment (but from now on I will) I promise ")

I just think most of the WBC are super busy. I try to comment on at least a few every time I get on.
I have had a little trouble commenting some times. I will take the time to write out a comment only to see it get deleted or the send button won't work. By  that point I'm so pissted at the computer is I walk away.
I think if some one comments on your post retuning the favor is a good idea.

I know...tell me about it? I had over 60 view on my recent post and nothing? LOL Whatever...my blogs are really for my use more than anything. I can see exactly what I have, remember what it looks like...etc. I love giving the helpful hints as well for other brides, but dang...have we gotten lazy about a brief comment? LOL again! I know if I don't leave a comment, it's because I'm laying down with my laptop and my cordless mouse and don't fell like sitting up to type whatever...but I make sure that I at least go back over them later and leave something? At first I felt like, maybe my idea wasn't a good one? Maybe they don't like it? Who knows, we also get a lot of views from non members as well, but they can leave a comment too! So basically, no excuses! I definitely try to hit comments on my favorites or who favored me. Just out of respect...If I'm bored, I kind of hit everyone that I can.

It does seem that way. I normally try to say something. Look at this one for example right now  it has 10 comments (not incl mine) and 28 views.

LOL well I see one of these posts every now and then and I always see an increase in posting after someone mentions it so I figured what the heck ;)

I try to post as much as I can...If I don't have a lot of time I try to go through the posts that I can leave good advice or opinions on...even if it's just two words I still try to leave a comment lol...

Like one of the brides...forgot which one so if you are reading this sorry hun....she had two of her girls get thrown in jail....all I replied was "holy crap!" but then again what else is there to say :) but at least I commented LOL

I noticed the amount of views vs. comments too. I try to comment on each blog I visit even if its a quick one. I visit a blog b/c it interests me somehow so might as well leave my mark =) But I do wish more people commented on "Ask a question's". Those are most important to me b/c I don't know many married people or people that have had nice weddings. I would have missed out on so much if not for this website!

See, thats my problem also...my mom isn't helping with anything wedding related, my FMIL lives out of state and most of my friends are really really busy so I don't want to bother them with all the details so I come on here to get advice from fellow brides that probably understand the situation...but have found the advice is starting to dwindle...people keep posting their posts just not as many responses.

I read way to much to comment on all of them...lol there are many I don't comment on simply because i feel they won't like my reply...lol, I can be pretty outspoken. Then its funny some posts you think you will get alot of replys on you get ziltch go fig

It can also be that people who posted got an email saying someone else posted and are going to check it out. I know that doesnt apply to ones that have no comments yet, but I just went and viewed 6 posts that I had posted on. Im not going to comment again but I was interested in viewing the other comments. KWIM?

i always reply even if it might not be exactly what the bride wants to hear. I am however very nice about it and make suggestions that might improve it or give it a different look. I like ALL responses. I don't want to hear just the good things....give me the constructive opinions also!

I think some of the views are "return" views, where people that have already left a comment are checking back to see what new comments have been left.  (I do that from time to time when the e-mail pops up, saying a new comment was left on such and such post.)  

I try not to take a lack of comments too personally (even though that's part of the fun!) and just chalk it up to people being busy.  I try to comment when something really resonates with me, or if a bride is asking a question, but I've been guilty of reading and fleeing too.

I haven't been as active since my wedding is coming up but when I do get on I try to go back to view more posts and look through all those then I hit up anyone new that faved me or any of my posts and my usual "friends" on here.

I see a lot of people constantly asking for opinions but never post anything back on anyones blog.

sabrinav, i have tried to leave comments when i am not signed in and always have problems. i noticed the other day that "subscribe to this post" is automatically checked. if i uncheck it, it lets me leave my comment. hope that helps you out.

futuremrst, i have to say i am guilty of "read and run" lol. however, i am on here everyday all day so i read just about every post. i don't have any excuses i'm just lazy half the time. i also have a 2 year old that is usually screaming and climbing on me so it's hard to concentrate to type. i promise to try harder ;)

wow!  I was thinking about this last week how a lot of the brides when I first started back in October are no longer commenting (nothing wrong with this) as I am sure they are getting busy with their upcoming weddings, but there are always a ton of new brides on here that I rarely see leave comments.  I don't always leave comments, but I do especially try to if someone even says in their post "What do you think?"  I know I like feedback so I try to comment, but then I think I am commenting too much---oh well.  haha.  I'm at work and bored so it works for me...pretty soon though I'll be getting busy so I may not be on that much...but I'm sure I'll sneak it!  :-)

I almost made this post myself!  My last few posts have gotten only 1 or 2 comments, if they've gotten any at all.  Come on, ladies, I need the attention!!!  lol

Why to go girly!!!  Top blog of the day and it was well needed for us WBC brides to get it together!  

thinkpicksuperhero I must apologize to you because I read you Groomzilla post (hiliarious) and read your FH blog (really good writer and so intuned with the wedding prep....impressive), but I don't think I went back to your site to tell you how much I enjoyed it.  I'll do better in the future

I agree. I try to comment on alot of posts, but I never seem to get very many responses on my blogs.

Hmm! I have noticed the same, i don't know what is going on, kind of sad.

well maybe we all just needed a good swift kick in the arse to realize we need to support our fellow brides LOL. It is easy to get consumed with our own weddings but we need to remember the ladies that have helped us out along the way! I love my WBC girls and couldn't have put this wedding together without all of you!

Well maybe because it's wedding season and everyone is so busy with their weddings?

I think we all need to understand that every bride on here is also planning their own wedding...so they may not have the time to sit there and comment on everyone's posts. Don't take it personally.

Im kinda new on here, but try to leave as many comments as I can while finding my way around! I have loved all you guys ideas and am so happy that there is a site like this. Lets hope this get better and that you will notice an improvement soon.

Awwww! Well Thumbs up!!!!! It looks like you lit a fire under 'em hahahahaha ... It's true I noticed the same thing, I do a lot of DIY posts so it's always nice to have someone say thank or for them to give me their input or share their ideas on the subject

WOO WHOOO I've noticed a crud load of comments on posts today! That's what I'm talking about! We all just needed a reminder ;)

I used to respond a lot.  Now the the wedding is close, I'm exhausted and have less time, too.  So yes, I'll speak for myself.

I know for me sometimes I read something and I have no clue what type of response to give.  Also, if I see someone else wrote something that I was going to say I won't repeat it - don't want to waste anyone's time by having them read something twice.

Furturemrst, you have read my mind.. I have not been getting responses lately and I remember when I strated I got 11 responses in minutes..  I thought that I was just not one of the popular brides so maybe no one cared...
I guess it becomes a cycle because I stopped repsonding to as much posts.  

But the beauty of this site is the friendship and relationship between ppl who have something in common but yet have never met.  
I hope that ppl respond more because it really helps.

I have noticed this too lately. But I don't take it personally really. I try to comment most of the time if I read something but I agree with most of the reasons everyone has said about why they didn't, too busy.. whatever. Anyway sometimes I consider just making a post an "Ask a question" so that I will get more feedback. Not that it is really a question... I don't know. I think that people pay more attention to the questions and comment on them the most. But then if you post ALL ask a questions it's totally overkill hahaha

I admit that I don't always leave a post to everything I read, because some times it feels that someone has already has said what I was going to say. Also if the comments start adding up, it doesn't really feel that important to add on (For example: I wasn't going to respond to this question because it's already a beehive of action, but I did because it seems like someone needed to say something for those who are hushed mouth).

first of all...i am offended that you didn't mention me as one of your top responders!  lol...seriously, I always make comments on your posts.  but fine...i'll let that go.  :)
i haven't been commenting on WBC as much lately because I've been so busy getting stuff done!  I have time for a quick peek as to what everyone is up to and then i've got to run!  I think a lot of the brides on here are in crunch time and have dropped off due to that.  
anyhow...now i've got to run and do laundry before work.

I wish my site had more comments too.. some of us need the feedback and an online community is supposed to be helpin each there out.. looks like this post got a lotta feddback!  haha I know sometimes I just don't have the time to comment, and I always say I'll get to it later, but hell I'm a procrastinator. lol

I agree!  People are checking out my blog but I'm getting nothing.  I even updated like 6-10 times in one day (new posts) and I got maybe 1 or 2 comments on random blogs...

I try to make sure to comment on everyone blog I go to. It's fun. I think people just look and keep going. It makes me mad when you have like 50 visits to a post and 1 comment.

I hear ya!  I try to leave posts for everyone I come across.  But I do have posts with zero comments and a few hits.  Oh Well, the ones that writing will keep on writing!

I know that most dont comment.... 232 views as fo now and only 46 comments... that's a little disproportioned! BUT like a few other brides mentioned... I know I check the same post 4-7 or more times a day... and i do that for a few days at at time... so part of that disproportion in numbers could be because we're checking back in with our bride to be to see how she's doing and what kind of comments she's been getting on her post.

But I do know that there are newer bride to bes that dont comment on your page but expect to have comments left on theirs... its a two way street!!

I try to comment on most posts... sometimes if its something like.. got my flowers picked out... im not all WOO HOO or anything...  but if the bride specifically says HELP or what do you think?? I definitely try to leave something... Im usually off the marker with my answer but hey, at least its another opinion!!

Lets just hope that there are a few of us who will be there to help each other out when we're in doubt!!
