My MOH came down from Michigan (I'm in Ohio) to help get me motivated (ever feel like you get in a slump with the wedding planning??) on my DIY centerpieces. And we got all of my short ones finished!! This made me so happy to finally get some progress made again. I am going to be making larger tissue flower balls that will be in tall black eiffel tower vases. I wanted to do the beadswags on them (like misspriss), but I simply don't have the patience and time to get it to look right so instead I am going to be using clear Lomey gems to stick throughout them to add some bling. Will post some pics when I get those done, although I am renting the black vases so I won't have those till it's wedding time!
@mrslindseytobe -- I started by making lots of tissue paper flowers, check my posts, i have a link to the site I used that actually shows a video. The cylinder vase you can find just about at any craft store even the dollar store, I used a spray adhesive to attach the ribbon (cover your surfaces well, I sprayed on cardboard but my table underneath was so nasty from the overspray) Find beads that you like, most of the strings of beads found in the jewelry making aisle seemed to be a few beads too long. I originally had purchased those, but before I altered those and shortened them I came across these damask christmas ornaments from Hobby Lobby that happened to be the perfect length.I inserted that by using a Lomey Gem through the string. I used to 4inch styrofoam ball, stuck a bunch of flowers in (starting with 1 at the top, then working my way around) I think it took about 15 or so. Beware of storing these tissue paper pomanders. I had made one months ago and had it in a box with all my other wedding goodies and it kinda got smooshed. So now I have them all arranged and hoping they stay that way for another 4 months!
Hope that helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask! :)
great job!

I think he likes these. We'd be going with taller vases but I'm totally digging being able to do something like this!
THANK YOU!
