Makeup
E.L.F.

I had my makeup trial done last week and was sooo disappointed! I had airbrush makeup done, and it looked so thick and "dewey" instead of smooth, matte, and flawless like I was expecting. Also, she kept saying how it won't rub off, will last ALL day.....by the time I got home I was able to take a tissue and it wiped off easier than my normal makeup would have! She has just recently added this service at her salon so I'm not sure if she was just not experienced with it or what. So I will just be doing my own makeup, which I am fine with, I just want to it to last all day.

Not sure if anyone has ever gotten any makeup from e.l.f, it's super affordable and apparently pretty good quality. My mom had just given me a waterproof eye liner from them and I really like it. Today I got on their site and ordered all kinds of goodies!! I typically use a powder foundation so I bought some of that, a mineral primer, and a mineral powder booster to help the look last. I am so excited to get it and try it all out. For the next 2 days all ordered ship for $3.50.

Anyone else tried the e.l.f cosmetics or had a bad makeup trial?

Maybe she just wasn't experienced! I had my airbrush trial done and LOVED IT! I typically wear foundation and powder everyday and this was so much lighter and gave me the same amount of coverage. I've heard sometimes it can look splotchy but that wasn't the case with me. My biggest thing is that we are going to be out in the heat and I don't want it to sweat off my face.. I have heard of elf makeup products, however I wouldn't go with  the eye shadows they aren't very pigmented and don't last long at all. I would suggest paying a visit to Sephora, they will give you a 'make-over" for free and set you up with the right products. If you really want it to last all day you DEFIANTLY need a primer. I use Bare Escentuals, it minimizes the look of pores, makes your skin appear smooth and helps makeup stay in place all day. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice ladies!
@Laurie88 I saw your pics, you looked beautiful with your trial
Unforturnately we don't have a sephora around here. Nor do we have a MAC, I know they do they free makeup trials as well.
We have a couple makeup counters in the mall, like @ Macy's, but it seems like theres an older generation working there, just afraid I'd get an "old lady" look instead of the "glowing bride" LOL!
