DIY Wedding
Photo Booth - tentative

So I have been mulling over whether or not to have a photo booth, the actual back in the day photo booths can run us around 900 bucks, so for a baller on a budget queen like me not sur eif that is justifiable to me. SO I have been trying to think of similar ideas.

I have taken the idea from vintageglambride, she had a vintage photo frame. so I am going to create the similar feeling, here is my vision....I would get a chinese divider screen, I would cut out a square large enough for 3, on the outside I would place photo frames of our grandparents, great grandparents etc. behind the screen we would have a stool(for the height challenged lol). And of course we would hire a photographer for 3 hours to handle the photo taking but I think that would be significantly cheaper, I was even thinking of finding a recent photo grad and see what I can get.

What do you think, can it work? Any suggestions on upgrades or overall operation?

I have seen something similar to this.  A couple had a designated wall at their reception with vintage picture frames up with a empty space on the wall for guest to stand.  I want to say they even had props to add an extra vintage feel, like hats and feather boas.

A prop box would be great, thanks.

There's a couple other options.  You can use a photobooth software to automatically take pictures.  This way you don't have to hire someone to take pictures for you, and you get printouts right away.  I actually created software for my own wedding, and now I sell it on my website (www.seemonkey.net).

A second option is to put a camera on a tripod and have a remote control.  Then guests can just grab the remote, pose, and take their own pictures.  You don't get prints on the spot, but it's still pretty simple to setup and doesn't take much.

Either way, grab a box of simple but funny props (big glasses, feather boas, masks, cutouts of your faces) and put them next to the booth.  You'll get a lot of really fun prints.

Good luck!
