The Proposal

I apologize that this is long. Thanks to all that read it though!!

To start with when we first got engaged it was personal and quiet. We only told one other person other than you WBC ladies. We didnt even get a ring because every time we went to get the one FH would never find one that he said was just right.
OK so you remember me telling you my baby sister was coming home? She and FH has had this "surprise" for almost 7 months. I figure this whole time it was something for my birthday. They have tortured with me with this surprise! I decide to throw a party for my sister to celebrate her graduation from basic training. FH says we should also just do my birthday party the same night and just have one big party. Sounds great so I get to planning.

Skip to Saturday night. We have tons of our family and friends at my house. We are having a blast! We are all grilling, bon fire going, music is on, we are having a few drinks and I dont even care at the moment that my football team is having their butts handed to them lol.

I am sitting talking to some friends when FH said someone cover her eyes. Suddenly someone has a death grip over my eyes. I hear someone saying shhhh and everyone gets quiet and music goes off. When my eyes are finally uncovered everyone is circled around us. FH is down on one knee, my sister is knelt down to the left of him holding this beautiful cake. The cake says "Will You Marry Me?" I had to read it twice to make sure I read it right the first time! I covered my face and started crying, looked at him and asked "Really?" He said "Yes Really" I started crying again! He pulls out the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and slips it on my finger. All I could say was "Really?" again. He said "Yes really, WIll you marry me?" I grabbed his face with both hands and kissed him and yelled YES of course! Happy tears are pouring down my face. I finally say "I didnt wear waterproof mascara!" Everyone rolls laughing and FH says "Thats my girl" lol

FH takes me to the side and says he couldnt let me get married without having an engagement that I would never forget. He is right, I will never forget that night.
Something about that night changed things. Now it feels even more real! Maybe its the fact that now everyone knows now. But whatever it was gave me even more motivation to kick this wedding planning into gear.
