What do you think of dove release?
White dove is the well-known simbol of peace.

As I see a lot of couple choose releasing doves after the ceremony... I like these pictures very much, and I also like the meaning of this.

Will you release doves on your wedding?

I like the idea, but have heard and read that once you let them go they die. Something about them not being wild, and they can't survive on their own in nature. Have you thought about a butterfly release? Each guest gets one to release, and it makes a great photo op. You just have to make sure you get the correct species of butterflies for your region so you don't mess up the monarch migration, Sorry, can't hide my love of nature!

Im having one.....my mom got it for us to go w/ our fairytale theme.  The first thing we asked was what happened to them & the guy said they fly back home...im  not sure how but they do.

I have never seen this done in person, but a friend of mine has.  She says that the doves flew up and sat in a big tree in front of the church instead of flying away home like they were supposed to.  She also said that some of them must not have felt like flying because they just walked around on the ground.  It's a cute idea, but personally, I like the butterfly release better.

My mom brought this up last month and thought itd be nice to do that because a friend of hers offered to do it for us for free (they train the doves, they are released and they come back to their owners after doing a few circles). Im not sure yet..I like the idea for funerals (we did it for my grandmas funeral) but I dont love the symbolism for weddings.

Well, I still love the idea and these pictures, but we decided to release two bundled white balloons with a little label on it, instead of   using dear doves...
