I think like anything else, it all depends on the style & preference of the couple.  My cousin & his wife got married there 6 years ago & don't regret 1 bit.  It wasnt even so much like they "had to" like some people assumed she was either pregnant, or they didnt have the money, but for them, it was fun, quick, & a different alternative to a courthouse wedding. & they had decided not to plan for a church or "traditional" type of wedding.   I wouldnt want a Vegas wedding personally, but I loved their pics & I know it was totally what they loved.

My mom just recently got married last year at the mgm grand. It had a really pretty chapel and the reception was nice. I think if you pick the right hotel wedding package it can be really beautiful & elegant.
I once saw a couple getting married at the venetian casino and she had the most beautiful dress. lol Her family must have been rich to have it at that expensive hotel

I live in Las Vegas, and I was just at a friends wedding here. They had it at one of the chapels downtown, and it was beautiful. I cannot remember the name  of the place, but it had a pretty chapel and places to take pictures. Your wedding is all about what you make it. Plus, Vegas is fun! My FH and I always see brides walking around the strip! Some of them a little more drunk than others ;)
