When to start doing my DIY projects????
When to start doing my DIY projects????
Ask a Question
Help DIY GIRLS!!!!How much time in advance should I start making my DIY projects???
Should I make samples first and them about three months before the wedding make them all?

Or just start ASAP and keep them???

I would not like to have them done and then get them damaged...

How long before your wed did you guys started?

As soon as I thought of them, I made them. If you have the room to start storing them, then better sooner than later!

I made mine a few weeks before the wedding, but I would suggest making them as early as possible, and buying some of those storage tubs to store them in.  We stored and labeled all our wedding stuff in those, and it is much easier to find things now, plus taking them to the venue will be a cinch :)
Good luck and have fun! Let your creative juices flow!!!

I'd start them now. You never know what might come up or what supplies you planned on using will sell out or e discontinued. Also, designate a spot for storing all of you wedding stuff. A closet, corner place in your parents garage whatever. I know that can be difficult if you live in a small apartment but you have to make it happen. Even worse than havng something damaged would be forgetting to bring it on the big day or misplacing it between now and then. Also in the words of my wedding coordinator, "It's never too early when dealing with weddings" Good luck!

I would start as soon as possible, for the reasons already listed.  There are always things that go wrong - extra supplies you need, stores running out of stock, etc.  The sooner you know about potential problems, the more time you have to deal with them or change your plans.

I would not leave everything to the final few weeks.  Those few weeks will be stressful enough without having to worry about your centrepieces or table runners etc. being done on time because you're making something else.

ive already started on the pomanders for the church and reception.  i have about 5 diy projects... the last thing will be easy - the bathroom baskets...

fmil has graciously offered to store all the wedd-related crap for us, so i'm getting as much done as soon as possible to avoid "deer in headlights" syndrome - and also so i can enjoy the last month before the wedding and not be running around in diy-hell...

I would think that the more that you can get done and out of the way the better.  I can just imagine having to stay up for the week before the wedding tying on ribbons and printing cards and cursing myself for not doing this sooner.

I agree with the others. The sooner the better. I am starting on mine as soon as we get our rebate check in the mail. My fiance has set part of it aside for me to do what I need to do with it. I have been running to the mailbox every hour lol.
