If you do not want an arch then DONT.
The beach and the clear blue waters can be your backdrop.  Will save you lots of cash.

I agree with Scheri that if you don't like the arch - don't feel pressured to do it. But I luv the 1st picture and the 5th.

I wasn't going to use anything either at first but then decided to use a gazebo style arch more for the shade than anything but also for pictures. I like #1 and I really love the whole look of picture 5. But if you don't want one then don't get one its your wedding and it should be exactly as you want it.
