What is your song???
I LOVE music, but the stuff I listen to isn't generally the type you can slow dance to at your wedding.
My FI isn't really into music, so isn't helping much in that department Does anyone have suggestions? What are you all dancing to for your first dance as Mr & Mrs? DIY Wedding
Favours and cake all in one!
We were having a hard time coming up with a good idea for guest favours...my FMIL suggested that they be something edible to ensure that all the guests make use of them (the last wedding I was at gave out a personalized mixed cd of all the bride and grooms favourite songs...and at the end of the night almost all of them had been left on the tables! I felt horrible for them, and want to avoid having it happen to me)
Anyway, my FI was simultaneously panicking after being told that wedding cakes are several hundred dollars lol, so we came up with this idea....... We are making our own cupcakes and icing them in lime green frosting to match our colours, and then packaging them each in their own little boxes and stacking them in the shape of a big cake at our wedding! Cute, no? At cake-cutting time, we'll have a "big kahuna" cupcake to cut into, then pass out all the individually boxed ones to our guests! I made some test ones to see what they would look like, and they are almost perfect! The only mistake we made is getting frosted white boxes rather than clear ones, but it's ok, I only bought 2 so all is not lost lol. I also plan on tying little tags onto the ribbon that say "thanks for sharing in our special day" or something along those lines. |

the search begins!
I've decided that I really want to add a bit of colour to my outfit, and the way that I want to do it is with my shoes!
They'll be a fun pop of colour in the photos, and not visible during the ceremony, which is exactly what I want! I love Love LOVE the Nine West Jojus in Green, but too bad for me, they're discontinued :( Now my mission is simply to find another pair of sandal type heels in a similar colour. I've sort of been having a hard time finding anything though....is anyone else wearing shoes in this colour? If anyone can give me some hints as to where to find some, please do!!! |

Bouttoniere Crisis
Resolved!
After debating back and forth over it, my FI and I came to a compromise that we are both happy with. Rather than bouttonieres, my FI and his boys will just wear green ties with matching silk pocket squares.
The colours are still beautiful, and I think the ones we picked out are really pretty! (i mean...manly) We'll still be giving bouttonieres and corsages to the parents though. I like the bout in the picture...just without the berries...those are a little weird to me for some reason. Love the kermits though!!! We'll use green ribbon instead of pink too. |

Boutonniere's or no?
My fi has recently told me that he doesn't think him or any of his groomsmen should wear boutonnieres because they are an unnecessary expense, and he doesn't think they're terribly good looking either.
I think that boutonnieres are the perfect way to tie the bridesmaids and groomsmens looks together. It distinguishes them from other suit wearing male guests at the party, and boutonniere's can be beautiful!!! Are boutonniere's as important as I think they are, or should I just forget it? Help! |

Which shoes to choose???
I thought that finding a pair of shoes for my big day would be easy. I'm definitely a shoe girl, and had a list a mile long of gorgeous kicks to potentially wear.
But now I'm in a situation....all of the shoes I had picked out went beautifully with a WHITE dress! The dress I ended up choosing is a dark ivory colour, which means I'm back to square one in the shoe department. What shoes go best with a dark ivory dress????? HELP!!!!!! (I would go for the gorgeous Louboutin's in the photo if they weren't almost a thousand dollars!) |

Wedding Dress
I never EVER thought this would be it...
My fi and I were fully expecting to pay for my wedding dress ourselves, but when my mom saw this dress on me, she insisted on paying for it!
I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, and started out shopping for a dress that was strapless, white, modern and clean looking with not too many details. Something simple with no flowery things, no lace, as few sparkles as possible and not too much skirt. The lady at the bridal shop got me to try this dress on just to see what the shape of it would look like on me, but when I put it on, I fell in LOVE with the whole thing!!! It's a dark ivory silk dress WITH flowers, lace, sparkles, and a huge skirt....everything I thought I didn't like!!! I'm so excited about it! It's soooo beautiful! And it looks better on me than I thought any dress would. It definitely exceeded my expectations of what my wedding dress would be! |

Wedding Invitation
PERFECT
Only one day after changing our colour to green, I was doing some random googling and found the perfect invitation.
I'm so excited! The only downfall is that the price includes reply cards, envelopes, return address printing and everything. Normally that would be fantastic, but we were hoping to save a bit of cash by skipping the reply card and having guests RSVP on our website instead. I emailed the company to ask if we can get the invitations on their own...now I just have my fingers crossed hoping that they say yes!!! |

Colours!!!
Alright already
I thought that black, white and purple were the colours I really wanted, but I kept finding myself looking at green wedding ideas all the time.
Finally my fiance asked why we weren't just having a green wedding. How obvious. Why didn't I think of that!? So now it's official. Our colours have been changed to black, white and green, and I love it! |

A huge part of why we chose our venue is that we've been to events there before and know how AMAZING the food is. We met with them 2 weeks ago, and this is the menu that they put together for us...
Hors D'oeuvres (butler service) 1. Aioli Marinated Chili Lamb Kebabs 2. Mediterranean Vegetable Spiedini 3. Assorted Croustades Appetizers (plated dinner service) 1. Amuse Bouche Trio (Vichyssoise Soup w/ Demitasse, Cream Cheese Proscuitto Ball, Shrimp w/ Cajun Sauce and Cherry Tomato) 2. Market Green Salad in a Cucumber Boat Main Course (people will get to choose one of these on their reply cards) 1. Beef Tenderloin w/ Filet of Salmon, Chardonnay Chive Beurre Blanc, Roasted Vegetables, and Portobello Mushroom Risotto 2.
