The Church
St. Jude's Catholic Church Allen, Texas
I am Catholic ---period! I was raised Catholic. I was in the choir as a kid and became the Church pianist. I played and sang at more weddings than I can remember.
When i got older I was curious about many other religions and spirituality and so I sort of forgot about the Church. In 2006 older and more informed now, I returned to the Catholic Church and made my confirmation, something that I had not done while in high school. I'm I waited to make my confirmation because when I did in October of 2007 it was something very deep and profound for me. The priest at St. Jude's is a convert and is the only priest I know who happens to be married with a wife, children and grandchildren! So with all this in mind I could not think of anywhere els I would want to get married or anyone else that I would rather have marry us than Father Tim and St. Jude's Catholic Church in Allen Texas. I have chosen an evening mass at 7 pm and I know that I would like to have dim lights and incense during the mass. I just hope that Michael's first marriage can be annulled in time for Oct. 2011. www. stjudeparishcom |

The Proposal
The Sanford House Arlington Texas
I got out of the hospital the day Michael proposed. I looked horrible and it was so hot that I think my makeup had melted off! He was in a hurry to take me to dinner and kept saying that where he was taking me was a surprise!
Earlier that afternoon I was dropping my mom off at her house and as she was getting out of the car I noticed a receipt in the cup holder from some place that looked like a jewelry store. I asked her if it was hers and she snatched it out of my hand confirming that it was hers! I sort of knew something was up! I later realized that my mother had accompanied Michael to pick out the engagement ring! So, it started to ran by the time Michael and i got to the Sanford House. A very beautiful little place that we had driven by many times before on our way home. I had always wanted to go there but knew it was probably very expensive. So, I knew it must be a special day if Michael was taking me to dinner here! Indeed it was as this was where he proposed! He had finished his meal and got up from his chair. I thought he was going to the men's room and thought nothing of it so I kept on eating. With a full mouth of food i looked up and found Michael down on one knee with a little box in his hand! Big bright blue diamond eyes looked up at me and asked "Will marry me?". Instead of answering yes immediately I hugged him because I had a mouth full of food and mumble "why are you doing this to me"! THen a very cute gay couple at the next table mouthed "say yes"!. Of course I finished chewing and accepted with tears in my eyes. http://www.thesanfordhouse.com/ |
