So our wedding was initially planned for March 26, 2011. Christmas evening my mother and I had a conversation and discussed moving the wedding up to 2010. She said my aunt was getting up and age and feeble and my grandma was not getting any younger. I discussed it with my fiance and he agreed! So I really have to get moving now.....

So my FH and I are both in school and we decided on March 26, 2011 because 1- it is his birthday 2- we want to graduate first and get on our feet 3) save money by saving and doing a little at a time to achieve what we want.

Ok So at work(I am a part-time keyholder at Charlotte Russe/my part-time job while in school, if you need a discount let me know: ) I am constantly ridiculed by co-workers(with no man, boyfriend, cheating boyfriend, no fiancee, cant find one) about my wedding date. I never bring up my wedding at work, but someone always seems to bring it up and talk about it. "Why are you having it in 2011?" I try to explain, but then I get..."Why did he not wait to propose until 2011?" "Why are you going to a Bridal Expo?" I tell them I am attending to get ideas, just look, I feel its only natural for me to want to go, but they just dont get it, they think I am going to the Houston Bridal Expo and booking everything in site! I am talked about for having my engagement party, (one girl whom is not even invited said I am trying to steal the spotlight on valentine's day!) I just figured a day of love to share with my friends... my wedding colors ( peacock colors), I dont like that, why not this color... Again I dont bring it up, they ask me and then it becomes a joke. Today was the breaking point and I dont know what to do about these ladies. My mother and FH both say I am too nice, but I still dont know what to say to them? I figured some of you guys have experienced this and could help me out. Thanks.

Should I give my friends that I want as bridesmaids the chocolate dolls the ask them to be my brideasmaids at the engagement party?
I was going to give them the dolls and card asking them at the end of the night, and then the next week if they respond yes, I want them to attend the bridal expo with me in February. Should I do this?

I bought my first items for my engagement party!
I bought a set if three apothercary jars for $11.99, a larger jar for $10.99, and a medium size one for $9.99 at Ross.
I also bought three candy jars from Hobby Lobby for $4.99 a piece. I also bought two red baskets. My fiancee would not let me buy them until i could tell him a use for them (other thgan matching the colors of our asian them)during the party and after. I can use them to hold napkins and plates, forks, and chopsticks.
In one picture there is a heart shaped jar which I will use for pens for the wishing tree. I also lucked upon floating candles and votive candle holders from linens and things. Since they are going out of business, I got 16 floating candles for 1.49 and candle holders for .25 a piece.

So excited!!!!

OK this may be a bit confusing but the engagement party, bridal shower, bachelor/bacherlorette party, and wedding are all a part of on theme.
We are trying to say that our love is the same in every part of the world , no matter how you say it in any language, its love.

Bachelor/bachelorette-Latin/Hispanic
Wedding ties all together with around the world buffet and pics of us at each culture station of us in costumes of each part of the world.

What I am asking is that for every invitation that I send out I want to incorporate this into it, (kind of like have a map and with an arrow leaving the U.S. and going to Asia for the engagement party, then it moving to France for the shower etc.) Kind of like telling a story.

Like I said before,I dont know how to word it and I want to be able for people to get what I am talking about. Any ideas on how to get this on paper for our invites?

I am so torn and I just need a little guidance. I dont know which one to choose!

I like this invitation that I found on etsy.com amd I want to attempt to do it myself with cardstockfor the engagement invites. However, does anyone know where I can find this clear (not translucent) damask or any print transparent paper?

Also does anyone know where to find envelopes that have patterns on the inside?

So i bumped into efavormart.com and fell in love. They have things I can use for our Asian theme. I was thinking about these events, tell me what you think:

* we will have in at a bar/lounge club in Houston called The Office. The lady we have been working with has been very helpful in planning.

*ok we decided on the sushi girl, I saw it in person, it was really unique and tasteful... really sweet and professional girl, cook handled all sanitary procedures(i know , nutrition major)

*chocolate fountain - dippings will be strawberries, marshmallows, pineapples, nutter buter, pretzels, and apple slices

*asian foods- mini eggrolls, orange chicken, pepper steak, teriyaki meatballs, etc.

* favor cds- his version about me , my version about him

* candy buffet with red, white, gold and black(black cherry) colors, custom fortune cookies

I had to have my hard drive replaced and I just received it back. I was going through WBC withdrawals,I am sad all my favorites I saved and pictures I had from websites for my inspirations are all gone. I miss all the beautiful inspiriations AND web browsing for my planning.

I said no ballons at first when talking about our wedding but I have been seeing these ballons on Rich Bride, Poor Bride and on the internet and think they are great! Its one big ballon that can hang from the ceiling or you can put in four corners of the dance floor(which I will do) and during your first dance or after cake cutting, a remote control sets off the ballons and mini ballons and/or confetti fall out. I dont want the confetti(just in case my venue doesn.t allow it) This will be a surprise for guests.I posted a video of it.

... When I first got engaged, like literally the next day when I was telling everyone that I was engaged, almost every girl was like I better be a bridesmaid and out of excitement I would say "Of course!" So here we go:
*Now people are starting to text me little by little and ask me about dresses and planning trips so the bridal party can mingle.
*I dont know what to do and I want some people to just be hostessess but I also dont want them to feel they have been downgraded.
*I have a lot of females in my family and most of them have children, so do you think they would get offended if I just ask for just their child to be in it (but then that would make it about 8 kids in the wedding party)

Ok I dont know if this is selfish, but none of my friend are doing candy buffets and if i asked them, probably would not know what one is if I asked. However I wanted to be the first to do one amongst everyone and seem original, despite this being a big trend. Now my weding is not until 2011, so I dont want to run the risk of someone using it first amongst people I know that are geting married, but I also dont know if I do it at my engagement party, will I see a repeat and dont want to do it for my own wedding. When should I do it for the engagement party and just be the trendsetter(cause it will be a hit) or just wait until the wedding or just do it at both.... I know this is a lot because it seems confusing to me, but if you can just help me out a bit ... thanks

Sine this is an asian theme, I want to wear my hair long with chopped bangs, a kimono, and these heels... I also am a mac fanatic and picked out some makeup sets, the lady at Macy's said that they would do my makeup if I bought fifty dollars worth of makeup, which is usually my average total, so i pray this all come together...let me know what you think....

Since our wedding in in the south during spring(which still feels like summer); we decided to have a table set up outside of the church for early arrivers to the ceremony. We may have tea also. i also wanted to display limes and lemons in apothecary jars (you can see it in one of the pictures) as decorations.

Well my FH and I are having an Asian theme for our engagement party. The promotion girl at our vpotential venue suggested that we have a Nyotaimori, which is body sushi. I thought they just placed the food on the body raw, but they use leaves and place them only on arms stomach thighs and legs.My other dilema is that we may not go with venue but we still may want that display ? I cant find a sushi girl on my own except through that promoter.I dont want to one day be rude and just say hey we dont want your venue, but can we have the connect with the sushi girl....
