I ran upon this poem from MrsBoggess' blog(Thanks so much for posting it) and I fell in love with it, I want this to be the reading at our wedding.... Here is the poem and the author below on youtube.com reciting it at a wedding! The Beginning
And they lived, happily ever after
And I’m starting out this poem From the ending, Because too many Things these days start out with Good intentions, But too many dreams End without the slightest mention Or even the foggiest comprehension To exactly what went wrong in the Very beginning
So it was, till death did them part
And the end is where we start Breaking down the anatomy of their success With their first great move They forgot about the rest And kept their eyes on a horizon So far beyond where the sun sets It took the stars in perfect alignment To make their two worlds - one universe And with their vows scripted from bible verse It’s like their whole lives had been rehearsed And since the angels and prophets where In perfect agreement, this one solemn promise Would never be reversed
And likewise did their children grow up so fast
And that the marriage did in fact last Is only and afterthought For all the sacrifices made And every sound parental decision sought Yes the rights for these lives Has already been bought
And this poem is not About beginnings and it’s not about me Because time tells all stories And the book of life has Already been written
And for those of you who Thought this story started when Bride and groom were smitten, have No earthly clue about the heavenly plan God has written
They lived, happily - ever - after
And even death for these two lovers Is not the final chapter Because love designed by the master Lives on - even in the here after And here after You’ve left this sanctuary today Hopefully you’ll never see matrimony In quite the same way Because time tells all stories And the next time You join hands And close your eyes To remember this beginning You’ll also visualize the magnificence Of their story book ending
And they lived, HAPPILY- EVER - AFTER
