I didn't realize how close Kokoberry's (Chocolate Wedding) day was! Today is the day, & I just wanted to send some love her way. This is one wedding where I just can't wait to see the pics for! Her projects are soooo pretty & I know she will make a beautiful Bride. Best wishes Kokoberry!
In all the busy-ness of wedding planning, we sometimes get away from taking care of ourselves. One of the best things about this forum is that everyone can relate in one way or another because marriage is the common factor. With all that said, the holidays will be here before we know it, & I am wondering if anyone here is interested in being involved in a WBC Secret Santa!
Because we are ALL on a budget, the restriction will be that the total price spent must be less than $10. Including shipping/handling. Make use of coupons, Sales & Dollar Store, Bath & Body Works, but please don't skim on quality! Be creative!
If you are interested, please leave a comment here, & I will convo you privately for your address. I know we all LOVE to receive packages in the mail, so why not receive or give something extra special to someone from WBC!
Deadline date for all interests will be November 20, 2009. Once you have your Secret Santa recipient , please have their gift in the mail by December 5th, 2009 (we want to make sure gifts arrive on time since holiday mail can be crazy). Let the FUN begin!!!
So, I have been working with Le Ink Coquette on Etsy (They are FABULOUS) to fine tune our wine bottle labels (sparkling cider) for the toast. They did such a beautiful job that I've decided to have them finish our reception signage for consistency.
By accident, the designer trimmed our border in peach, & as it turns out, I LOVE IT! I didn't think I was missing a color from our already Tiffany Blue & Gray palette, but the peach looks beautiful & adds a soft, but modern touch that I haven't really seen. So, we're not majorly changing our color palette, but we will be including the peach in more subtle touches in signage, as well as a peach signature drink. Probably some type of frozen-non alchoholic drink.
I found these blingalicious wine bottle holders at ZGallerie, only cheaper at Hobby Lobby. We will have a bottle at each table for the toast. I will post pics of the bottles in action after they are all labeled.
So, I've shared with you guys our Wedding Party's personalized totes, Survival Kits for two of my neices and the satin hankies for our moms, but we still have much more to do. I wanted to give a monetary gift to a few key people on our Wedding "Team". Who dosen't like money, right! So anyway, we will gift these personalized, fun, VISA gift cards (spends just like Debit/Credit) to our Soloist, Reader & Photographer. Our Photographer is a very good friend who isn't asking for anything, but we know we need to pay her for her services. Instead of a plain check, or ordinary gift card, we opted for something that is more "us".
You can also make your own, or choose from a great selection of predesigned gift cards for $5.95 (fee) at www.giftcardlab.com. You can load anywhere from $10 to $250.
Just for fun, what will your new last name be? Hyphenated names too! I wonder if we'll have any duplicates on here? :) Already married? Feel free to share as well!
I had made some damask chair signs several months ago, & somehow they got wet & the ink started running, lol. So...I contacted Decadent Designs on Etsy awhile ago, & they created a Tiffany Blue with chandeliers & lace chair sign for both my FH & I. The signs are great...only problem is they came in bent. Seller sent me bottom cardstock for me to redo myself :( but it's stuck on pretty well, so I'm leaving them as is!
Glam It Up Toppers (Etsy Seller) took on the project for me to create & complete our bouts for the gentlemen. I made my own for our Banner Bearers (not pictd in this post). They also made several bouts for our 2 Groomsmen, our dads, the Ushers, the Soloist, etc..
Each bout consists of rhinestone crystals, tiffany wrap, magnolias, & guinea feathers (you can barely see in pic). My grooms bout is minus the guineas, but has white feathers & white russian netting.
I am about this close ::squinching fingers:: to purchasing my shoes, and maybe dying the crinoline. I just can't make up my mind on going with the blue crinoline, or tiffany blue shoes....or both (is that too much?). Im thinking one or the other, but I would love to know what you guys are doing. Please vote:
A) Dying Crinoline B) Colored Shoes C) Both D) Neither. Sticking with White E) Other (please elaborate)
Thanks so much to fellow BUSY bride-to-be, Tobemrsf for her help on this project for my mini Hershey chunk wraps. When I saw her completed project (pictured), I wanted to have some in an apothocary jar or platter at the reception for our guests. Even though we're not having a candy buffet, I will have damask mint matchbooks (also pictured) & chocolate for guests to take with their favors.
I love the way our wraps turned out & I will make a few so you you guys can see the final look.
If you are having cake or cupcakes at your wedding reception, what flavors are you planning to have? I want to get a good round about idea of what our guests would prefer!
Most of you know that we are having cupcakes, & one cake to cut. Our cake will be strawberries and cream. The guests' cupcakes will be red velvet with cream cheese frosting, white/vanilla with buttercream frosting & strawberries and cream. But what are you guys having? I also love lemon, carrot & chocolate cake but really don't want to have more than 4 flavors offered.
Week VII, Seven, 7, Siete, Sept!!! The 7th week. Wow!
I just want to again welcome & encourage any new brides out there, or any settled brides who may feel overlooked at any point in their planning. Whether it be posts with minimal comments, or feeling left behind in general, please just know that we are all here at WBC to support one another!! Even when people dont comment or give the feedback you feel you deserve, you dont know who you are blessing in the process just by sharing your ideas!!! So dont stop! You never know who is looking & collecting your ideas to help them plan a more beautiful wedding because of your help!
I am going to scale back the WBC Queens to once, maybe twice a month. Lemme tell ya, Wednesday rolls up FAST now, lol! I still take great pleasure in just highlighting a few awesome women here, so it wont stop, but it is time consuming to sift thru so many profiles on your own. Especially, every week. Congratulations to this weeks Queens! I hope you guys have a wonderful week & please keep up the good work!! Xoxo

Happy Labor Day!
What Are You Doing??
Happy Labor Day Ladies!
As most of you know, I just recently went back to work, but HOW GOOD is it to have today off!!! Yes! The only thing is that I'm not really lounging the way I'd like to. My engine light came on yesterday on my way home from a cookout, & the car is shaking. Not good. So, I'm going to have it checked out (I hate to have to spend my first check on car issues!!) & then will probably slow cook some beef ribs over at my FI's house later on. I doubt if I'll be doing anything wedding related today, but I will be back in the swing of things soon! I have lots of things to share with you guys :)
Anyone else chilling today? Anybody cooking anything? Where's the party at :)
I can't believe this is the 6th installment of Queen Brides! So, thanks ladies for sharing all your fabulous ideas with us here at WBC (and beyond). I hope you don't mind being congratulated & acknowledged for your beautiful bios:

I must admit that I just love to see her ideas, and she has inspired me in finalizing some key pieces at my reception. It's a bummer that I haven't really been able to purchase anything, because I was out of work over the summer, BUT I am working again (part time), & I will be showing you guys some of my last touches soon. I'm seriously trying to wrap this up, but if you've ever been out of the job, you undersand it takes time to catch up..
Anyway, I LOVE this centerpiece wrap that Creative Bride came up with, of course in the perfect shade. Since I already made up my damask centerpieces with the peony tops, I decided that I will use what Cre8tive has come up with for a few Highboy Tables (pictured). All of the guest tables will be in solid colored satin linens, but we will have just a few High Boy tables placed in the room for guests to talk, mingle & eat at as well. These tables will be covered in a damask linen, & tied with a tiffany blue sash, then topped off with the featured centerpiece. I love it! It is VERY hard to stay away from her Etsy Shop :)
We are planning a late afternoon/early evening wedding, & a Private Hors Doeurves Reception to follow at a 2nd location. I don't think we'll have the traditional bouquet & garter toss, but I can never say never. I am thinking of good food, great fellowship, music, some pics, & we bounce! For us, time will be saved with the guests having their food readily available, & they can visit different stations, plus have servers come to them. So, I'm thinking even with the cake cutting, first dance, & possibly the toss, we are averaging maybe a 3 1/2 hour reception..
I know the average reception time duration is about 5 hours, but I'm okay with a little less.
How long are you guys planning to be at your reception? Are you doing all the "traditional" reception activities, or anything different?
Congratulations to this week's WBC Queens! Today is a blend...one bride is already married, and others are still planning. Either way, they are all gorgeous & have lots of fabulous ideas. Thanks ladies for all you do.

Ask a Question
What is Your Guy Wearing?
Ladies, I am working on getting my shoes & narrowing down what to "Hint" to my FH to wear on our wedding day. I know he will know the right suit/tux to wear once he goes to try them on, but I want to have some ideas in mind before we even go.
Please throw out suggestions. Our wedding is only semi-formal. You guys know the colors...Tiffany Blue (not themed), steel gray, irridescent white, & black and white damask with chandelier accents. My gown is white, a-line. I'm wearing a mantilla veil.
I would love for the guys to all wear tiffany blue neckties. I don't know if I should suggest to FH to wear solid white necktie? I also love the tux's with white jackets & black pants, but not solid white for him. I love seeing it in other weddings, but I don't see it for him. Maybe him in a Tiffany Blue vest, & white tie? But I really like the clean look of the white vest, white tie & black pants. I also LOVE striped neckties, but haven't seen any striped tiffany blue neckties. Clearly I'm clueless!
So please help :) Tell me what your guys are wearing (or wore). It dosent have to be in my color palette. I just need ideas. I am open to maybe a gray suit, or black suit, or like mentioned..the white & black. Our bouts are pictured. They are magnolias with guinea feathers. Adorned with Crystals. My baby's bout is all white & cream with tiffany blue stem.
I did not do my usual write up on each bride this time. I figure you guys can visit the Queens & see what you love best about them. Each of them are absolutely awesome. Quite a few of the brides are under 100 days to their wedding, so I hope you will continue to boost the support when you have the time, or simply fave them or leave a little comment. A little support goes a long way! Oh, & there was a tie for 2 Pink Brides, so we have a double portion!! Wooo hooo! Rock on ladies!

Check & Check!
THANKS TO UNPREDICATABLE BRIDE,
I have a revised Photo Sharing Card to upload to Vista Print!!! You guys, she worked like she was paid. You know how money drives most of us to go above & beyond? Well, not her. Shayne was legit when she made a generous offer to help us brides out, & she did it with such a kind heart. And she did it quickly! You know how we all have our heart set on something, then you gotta wait forever to see the results?!! Not in this case. Thanks again Unpredictable Bride.
So, here our Photo Sharing Card that I'm ordering for free. Vista Print has an offer thru September 1st for 100 free post cards (just pay shipping).
Roll out the RED CARPET!!! We're back with the Wednesday Queens, but this time there's a twist!!
I'm bringing back the forerunner brides who are now married. I like to think of them as our WBC retro or throwback edition, lol. They are stylish, they are helpful, & we just love them because they've helped pave some awesome ideas for us all to reflect on. I also will be resurfacing married brides from time to time, because they tend to go out of sight when they're not actively posting, I think that's a shame to have to dig in archives to find someone who has been here all along! So cheers to all you ladies (even the ones that are not mentioned this week).
AND PLEASE, don't hesitate to leave comments on these blogs just because they're married! I'm sure married people like positive feedback just like we do, lol! You never know when they'll pop back on their blog, or when they receive an email alert that someone said something on their blog! If you've already stopped by, stop again! As Unpredictable Bride says, "Pay It Forward"!!! Our day is coming too, & I think we might like some feedback from others.
Katieo {Pink Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/katieo. First post: 9-3-07. Katie had a an awesome shabby chic wedding that was all budget friendly. She & her hubby, Chris tied the knot on October 5, 2007!! Katies blog was one of the first blogs that I would always go back to just to admire. I love her out of town bags! So check her out, & it is NOT too late to leave her a message! Last I recalled, she is still alerted when she receives messages, & Im sure shed be pleased to know she still rocks over here at WBC. Plus, theyre 2 year anniversary is right around the corner, hint hint!
Alybrand {Blue Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/alybrand/page/2. First post: 12-24-07 (the night I was engaged, woooo hoooo!). Alyshia & Brandon had a beautifully simple aqua, chocolate brown & sage green wedding last July. She has awesome ideas & some very helpful posts!!
Mamajea {Green Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/mamajea. First post 5-31-08. Jeanne & her husband had a beautiful green, black & white wedding, with damask. They wed on November 28, 2008, in British Columbia. I got my CD idea from Jeanne to do for my girls. She has some really great ideas & beautiful wedding photos!
Annmariebarber {Red Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/annmariebarber. First Post 9-28-08. First of all, I want to see her wedding pics! I know Ann Marie was a stunning bride! She & her Groom, Nico were set for a June 13, 2009 wedding in California. Ann Marie has amazing deal information on damask material in her blog. She even made a chic frame with Damask packing tape! If you havent already seen her blog, I highly recommend stopping by.
Vixysticks {Orange Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/vixysticks. First post 3-26-08. Victoria had the best Disney Wedding everrrrrr!!! She made it so tasteful, and fun. She also has an amazing proposal video (was on link, but you can pm her to view). Her engagement photos are the cutest!
Msvalencia {Chocolate Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/msvalencia. First post 10-16-08. Ms. Valencia & her hubby Alden had a truly beautiful wedding in New Orleans. They got married on June 14th of this year. She was a stunning bride, & her girls dresses were gorgeous!!
Shanna24 {Purple Wedding}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/shanna24. First post 2-28-08. Shanna has pictures of the rose petals her fiancé laid out for her the evening he proposed to her!!! Her purple wedding was truly beautiful, & her shoes were HAWT!! Shanna has some very pretty inspiration on her blog.
Cowgirlznen88 {Yellow Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/cowgirlznen88. First post 5-15-08. Jen & Wayne are nearing their 1 year anniversary! They got hitched on September 27, 2008, in Iowa. Jens wedding was yellow with black & white. Its one of my personal fave color combos for weddings. Jen sorta left us all hanging, because the last photos we get to see are her engagement photos. As lovely as they are, we like to see the real deal too! Anyhow, her blog is fantastic & you may find inspiration there for your own wedding.
Blingbride {White Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/blingbride. First post 1-1-09. Genae & Keith had a classy-chic, bling filled wedding celebration in Atlanta, GA. There really isnt a lot to say about Genaes stunning wedding, because the pics say it ALL. She did a hands down amazing job on her wedding. On top of that, it was on a budget that most people would back away from, but to brides like myself, it is that much more encouraging to know that what Im doing on a less than $10k budget (way less, lol) can still look like quality, because she has proven it.
SPECIAL THANKS Martasmonograms {White Wedding Blog}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/martasmonograms First post 2-17-09. Although this particular entry is not geared towards specific wedding relations, but graphics & designs, it is here to help each & every bride here who may be interested in Martas services. I absolutely love freebies, especially the free items that are of quality & reflect exactly what YOU want. Marta has been kind to offer so much to us here, & help lots of brides bring their wedding vision together with Martas lovely design elements. Keep in mind that Marta does have a business, so her items are not free, but she recently did a huge amount of requests for free, & even last year, she did alot of free services for others. You can also view her amazing blog {Blue Bride} at http://www.weddingbycolor.com/marta12 Thanks Marta!
AWESOME NEWBIE Unpredictable Bride {Black Bride}: http://www.weddingbycolor.com/unpredictablebride : First Post 8-08-09. Shayne is planning a black, white, silver & damask private wedding in Illinois for next October. She is already on a roll in her planning & blogging stages, but one of the most drawing components to her blog, is her heart. As most of us brides begin the planning process with questions about our weddings & relationships, Shayne kicked off with questions about what she can do for us to make our planning easier. If you havent already been by her blog, I highly recommend it! See her lovely photos, continue giving feedback & encouragement, and see what we all can do to pay it forward!

Ceremony Signage
Reserved Seating
I made a post awhile back on some reserved seating signs I was working on, but I ran out of the scroll paper I needed & the Scrapbook store I purchased it from no longer had it in stock! So, I decided that if they get it in again, I might still do something for the reception, but probably not.
In the meantime, I wanted to complete our reserved signs for the Ceremony, so I contacted the awesome Mrsgroves07 @ Etsy. She made the vintage border shape that I initially wanted, & embelished with lots of rhinestones for me. I will be placing 4 signs on each side of aisle, so that there are 8 total. Basically, our immediate family will have reserved seating at the Ceremony.
Side note, the ribbon looks almost white, but it's grayish-silver.

Ask a Question
Would You Let Your Groom Plan?
If you & your future husband were given an extra $25 grand on top of your own wedding budget, & the ultimatum was to only let HIM do the planning, would you? How do you think the money would be spent if he started from the beginning of your engagement? Do you think he'd splurge on the honeymoon, save most for the house, have certain entertainment? Do you think he could put things together better than you?!! Or...would you not trust him & just elope?
BIG Thanks to everyone who took the time to pour out your Wonderful Wednesday Brides votes & comments for this week. I really didn't know how this would all turn out, but whether the post got one response or 100, I am just pleased to get more exposure on Brides who are working hard to put their wedding day together.
I won't keep you long with this post, but when you view the Queens for this week, please take the time to comment on ANY post on their blog. Have nothing to say? Just congratulate them. Compliment something. Share the truth with them about something that could be done differently or better. Maybe FAVE them or post on their blog. Mention them in your blog. Send a personal message to them just to see how the planning is going. You NEVER know who may be one of your closest friends here, simply from reaching out. Often times we sulk & get mad that no one has anything to say, well...let's do our own part & get this party started, because maybe someone really needs something just from you. We all know Wedding Planning isn't always peachy, so lets keep up the support!!
Congratulations Ladies!!! Enjoy your planning, or marriage if you're already married! xoxo

Theyre already in the planning stages of a romantic honeymoon in Niagara Falls, after their October 23rd nuptials. Best wishes Gaynelle!
Mrsstephenstobe {Brown Bride} http://www.weddingbycolor.com/mrsstephens2b : First post: 7-15-09. Vicketa is planning a lovely outdoor wedding, with a palette of Chocolate, Coral, Kiwi & some Ivory. Keep the comments coming over at her blog! Check out her wonderful Journey post. It, as well as the proposal are very touching.
Skeeta7910 {Green Bride} http://www.weddingbycolor.com/skeeta7910 : Rita is a Clover Green bride who took off running with her pretty blog, since her start date here of 7-5-09. Shes planning an intimate Toledo wedding with her family. I love that she has included a splash of watermelon color to her scheme. Leave her a note! See how the planning is coming along!
Toyacoco {White Bride} http://www.weddingbycolor.com/toyacoco: Latoya is a beautiful bride-to-be who is getting married in Canada THIS MONTH! August 22nd to be exact. I must admit, I sadly believe that I NEVER even saw her blog, or knew it existed. The White & Black blogs tend to get buried since the color block isnt featured. Unless its a bride receiving lots of comments, its hard to know so, please be sure to wish Latoya the best for her upcoming wedding. She has wonderful posts, & with her day nearing, deserves to be encouraged! Plus, you gotta see her engagement photos! Beauty Queen~!
Hazzbang {Purple Bride} http://www.weddingbycolor.com/hazzbang : Haylie joined WBC on July 8th, & we has zero comments on her blog! Of course none of us would intend to leave a newbie out in the cold, so be sure to send a special welcome to her when you get a chance, or simply check out her post. The beautiful Bride-to-be is in Australia, Queensland to be exact! Her elegant wedding is arranged for September 4, 2010.
Browncurls {Pink Bride} http://www.weddingbycolor.com/browncurls: First Post 6-4-09. Wedding day April 15, 2012. Jeannies blog is Bravo-licious & she has the wedding style to back up the name. She has beautiful ideas that are Magazine worthy, & she has been an awesome addition to the WBC Family! Plus, I just love her dimples!! She's a cutie!!
Our first roll out of the Fabulous WBC Queens went really well! I can't thank you enough for those of you who have been leaving comments on that post for me, & more importantly, our featured brides!! It's a great feeling to know that in the midst of planning your wedding, there are people very much like you who often need support, honesty, & simple feedback.
With that being said, I am in the process of scanning the WBC archives, & most recent joiners. I'm looking for brides who may be overlooked, or who just simply get to be featured!
Quite a few of you have sent me personal messages of who you think should be mentioned, so I want to invite any more of you who have nominees to add. It can be for any reason whatsoever. Maybe you like her shoes, or maybe you like her brutal honesty. Maybe it's the DIY projects, or the teeny budget she's working with to create a masterpiece. Reasons are limitless, but the results are forever appreciated. The bride can be a newbie, or someone already married. Please just convo me thru my contact section if you have someone (or more) to suggest! If your mentioned bride is not featured on Wednesday, it's all good. Give it time so that we can make room for all the nominees.
Lastly, I will be almost doubling the # of featured brides from now on. I will be featuring one bride from EACH color block on WBC. Please don't forget our Black & White Wedding blogs.
Happy Planning, & THANKS for your help! :)
Don't forget to leave comments on those blogs that were featured from Last week! Go make someone's day!
I decided to do traditional corsages for our moms & grandmas, still with some chic little feathers & vintage lace for style factor. I am making brooches for our Hostesses & other Wedding attendants (will post pics soon).
The corsages actually have a similar style to boutonierres, but they are much larger. I did not make these, they are from Etsy.
To help all of us keep up with whose month it is, please list the following so that we can all be aware!
1.) Your Name (screen name) 2.) Wedding Date (must be an August bride, 2009) 3.) Colors 4.) What you're currently working on, have left to do, etc...
Happy Planning, & BIG Congrats to ALL of WBC's August Brides. Also, if you all know of any August brides who may be signed off now to prepare for the wedding, please chime in. On the top of my head, I know that the following have given a farewell or at least acknowledged their date coming up:
Thirty3thirty, August 29, Colors are Truffle, Champagne & Pink! Congrats Brie!!
Posh Bride, August 8, Color is Blue (Aqua). Congratulations to you too Kristal!!!
Well, not really "Glam", lol, but it sounded nice!
I made one pew cone the other night to see how difficult it'd be, & how many materials I'll be needing for 12 (6 on each side). I used the largest cardstock sheets or metallic Tiffany Blue, & a "lace" cardstock in turquoise to lay on top. I also made a mini flower ball with a styrofoam ball, & trimmed fabric lace for the handles. I also hot glued a crystal strand on the front part of the cone, for detail when it hangs.
I love them alot more in person. Any suggestions on something to add or take away? I'm trying to keep it sortof simple, but I'm open to all suggestions!!
I have heard the greatest things about Trotter06 on Ebay, & so about a month ago, I decided I would see if I could catch a deal as well. Thank you to Kokoberry and every single bride here (my memory fails me) who posted.
My FH & I have a pretty large group of friends/family who are serving in different areas, from Usher/Hostess, to Day of Coordinator/Director. These are the recipients that are getting the bags.
I got gray my first order (for the Director & DOC), & then the rest are black for everyone else. The black turned out to be my fave because the colors really pop! I must say that I am TOTALLY pleased. The quality, price AND turnaround time are A+. As a matter of fact, the Seller sent me an extra bag for free, because the embroidery on one of the bags was slightly frayed. I have cards for everybody, but does anyone have suggestions for what I can put in the bag that isn't lotion, soap, or perfume related (allergies)?
Oh, & for the bag totals, I spent less than $4 per bag, including s/h. And that includes embroidery!
Here is a picture of my bouquet! I'm very excited, because it's like the icing on the cake :) I was going to have a vintage fabric bouquet made, but the seller sat on my order for months, so I moved on. It was a blessing in disguise! My bouquet consists of full bloom roses, peonies, feathers, & crystal brooches. And of course, a touch of Tiffany :) Oh, & yes..there is extra ribbon added. I have a picture included as my inspiration for a longer ribbon.
I think one of Rhonda's bouquets for my MOH will go perfectly with this!
P.S. I did NOT make this bouquet. I got it from Etsy, seller Diva Bridal Couture :) She's awesome, & extremely accomodating. I love her work. It's hard to see from the picture, but she actually hand painted some shimmer on the petals. I can't wait to get it in.
I am anxiously excited about planning our special day, & living our very special life together. God has been so very good to us, & I will forever be grateful. Our colors are aqua, irridescent white & steel gray with damask chandelier motifs. No theme really, just putting things together one day at a time. Wedding will take place in Summer of '10!
