gratefulbride's Blue Wedding Blog - Wedding By Color http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride I am anxiously excited about planning our special day, & living our very special life together. God has been so very good to us, & I will forever be grateful. Our colors are tiffany blue, irridescent white & steel gray with damask chandelier motifs. No theme really, just putting things together one day at a time. ]]> Wed, 08 Feb 2012 06:09:22 PST en-us Market Place - A Little House Cleaning :) http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/163376 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/163376 Sun, 27 Feb 2011 11:54:00 PST Happy New Year !!! - I Miss You Guys! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/158970 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/158970 Sat, 08 Jan 2011 06:15:00 PST Just wanted to stop in & share some xoxoxoxo's with you guys. My time and dedication to this particular blog isn't where it used to be, but I still think about you ALL so much. Congratulations to the newlyweds, the upcoming, the past & the planners. Keep up the wonderful work, & continue to be blessed. PS-Thank you for the message & emails. You all are the bestest :) Love, GBride :)]]> Sayonara! - XOXOXOXO http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/151357 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/151357 Sat, 02 Oct 2010 09:06:00 PST Well Ladies (and any gents), I wanted to do a proper exit, without just leaving you guys hanging. First things first, yes...I am still engaged, and happy and the whole nine yards. But the time has come to just simplify things on my end & "sign off" from WBC. There are no major reasons, but for those of you who follow me here, I have invested alot of time & energy into my blog, & I LOVE the WBC Community, but after all I can possibly post & share, I really think my time is up. I haven't been as in to posting & blogging as I used to be on here, & I don't think it's fair to just drop off the planet without at least saying good bye!! I also have another blog that I share wedding details, as well as life details on, so my blogging is not totally finished, but I will not be devoting time here the way I used to. Of course, I will peek in from time to time to offer supportive comments to you all here, and to all of the wonderful new brides as well. And, I will also be sure to share photos from when my day comes around. On a final note, I just want to encourage all of you here to please continue supporting each other, leave encouraging posts (even if it's constructive criticism, leave it in love). It takes courage to post something as intimate as your wedding details to the world. So keep up the good work ladies, & I wish you all the best!! My friends & members still know how to reach me:) Happy Planning!!!]]> Welcome Folders - A Little Southern Hospitality :) http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/149413 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/149413 Sun, 12 Sep 2010 15:22:00 PST I was VERY excited to come across some folders in our color, for .10c each at Staples. "Tiffany Blue" can be a hard color to match up sometimes. Anyway, this is part of the final phase in our oot packs that we will have for our travelling guests at their hotel(s). They will get a gable box with a few goodies, & a folder with city information, hot spots, contact info, etc.. For the people coming in the night before, or the day of, this may not be that useful. BUT, for those coming in days in advance, it is really helpful. I took first hand experience as a guest when I recently travelled & had days to spare, but found it a little hard to locate the recommended things to do. It's easy to find out from a stranger, but sometimes it really helps to get first hand info from someone you know. So...the folders aren't done. Im waiting for the welcome letter & a few other fun things. I gotta send a shout out to my girl, Gorgeous6 on the folder use. I was planning to just use/order pamphlets from Vista Print, but when I saw how convenient & neat her binders were, it made me second guess. I still love the pamphlets though, & really if we didnt have other inserts for the guests, ie, door hangers & photo sharing cards, that would be the way to go. I can't find the pic of our gable boxes, but will post soon. :)]]> Thank You Cre8tive :) - MOH's Bouquet http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/148874 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/148874 Tue, 07 Sep 2010 15:26:00 PST I am trying to catch up with some posts that I never made, but one very special one to me is a bouquet that I got from Cre8tive, on Etsy (also has a blog here). I was looking for something a little smaller than my own bouquet, but with a style that was still beautiful, while being simple & stylish. Pictured is the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" bouquet & I really love it. Ive been trying to add a few ostrich feathers to it, but Im really not doing a good job at it, so I'll probably leave it the way it is. I think my MOH will love it as well.]]> Photosharing Sign :) - Fabulousness! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/148869 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/148869 Tue, 07 Sep 2010 14:20:00 PST I am a wedding for dummies kinda girl, so details with explanation are key to me, because I alot of my family will be new to some of the things that seem so old to alot of us planning brides. I went to the Fabulous Unpredictable Bride aka Printable Bride aka Shayne, lol, & she formatted this infamous Polaroid Picture image for me to frame & display near the extra Photo Sharing cards that we'll have setup at the reception. I LOVE them & can't wait to see it all in action! BTW- the 2nd picture is the back side of our photo sharing card. I don't want to use the excuse of being busy, but truthfully, so much has been going on, & I just have had to put my own projects on the back burner in order to help in other areas for other people. Before I go any further in sharing what I've been up to, I MUST congratulate & give shout outs to the Beautiful Brides: Nidhal, Tashasita , Cranetobe & Deanarae, as well as all of our other WBC sisters who married over the summer!!! I feel so out of the loop, lol! I have many blogs to visit & comment on. On that note, I have been travelling (nothing extravagant, but I have been visiting with family, which has been beau-tee-ful!). I have been blessed with a promotion on my job. The summer portion was like boot camp! For those of you who don't know, I work with children & the program that I work for developed a summer camp, with yours truly as the Coordinator. I would go in as early as 6am & get home some nights at 8pm. This was an action packed camp, with weekly off-site field trips. Grades Kindergarten thru 9th. Yes, the middle schoolers were FRESH! Whoa. It was alot, but so much fun. Ive been working on my own business that Ive neglected so much, and been volunteering at a children's hospital, here in NC. Also, been helping in other areas where brides have requested my help. SO, I have really put my projects on hold, but I have a plan in mind to start really cranking some things out in full effect in the near future! Right now is not the time though because I am on a mission to redo my bedroom, lol. Its been bugging me, & I have LOTS of wedding stuff in there...it's like my workspace, but I have to stop. So, I am in the process of cleaning out some storage totes, & redoing my room in shades of pink & black & charcoal. Maybe some zebra, or classic-timeless stripes in black & white... any suggestions? Okay, so now Ive typed a book, but I really miss you guys & I thank you all who have emailed, texted & even created posts ***winking at Unpredictable Bride & my Sis Monikas***. Thank you & Happy Planning! I'll be back soon with some projects!! xoxo ]]> Ask a Question - What's Your Review? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/145910 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/145910 Wed, 11 Aug 2010 23:04:00 PST Just wondering if any of you are fans of the Very Sexy fragrance from Victoria's Secret. I came across it today & thought it was really pretty, so I saved it. I posted awhile ago about using average size picture frames for seating arrangements, which is what we are considering. This design may work for us...]]> Gotta Heart Vista Print! - Tent Cards! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/144185 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/144185 Wed, 28 Jul 2010 11:41:00 PST Okay, so I was looking thru some of my deals & freebies from Vista Print & trying to see if there are any other items that I need to try and take advantage of. I saw these folded business cards, & my mind started racing. You really can use these for so many tent card functions. They're about the size you'd select for an escort or place card. HOWEVER, due to the fact that they print in bulk off of one design per discount/order, you pretty much would not be able to order different names on each card. But, in my case, I had some thank you cards made up at Etsy a few mons ago (will share pic once I take a pic). They are on tiffany blue shimmer cardstock, with a thank you message & damask. We plan on placing them at each place setting. Something like this can work with the Vista Print offer because it is basically just one generic design. No names or anything. Just a thought. They're cards for 250 are $29.99 for matte or $49.98 for glossy. Still not a bad deal, but watch for deals because the one I had was for $5.99 for 250. Not bad at all!!!]]> Ask a Question - Do You Know What This Font is Called? http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/144169 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/144169 Wed, 28 Jul 2010 09:12:00 PST I have been really busy the last couple of months with all things non-wedding related, and I am trying to get back in the swing of things. I am working on some incomplete projects, as well as new, & this font is one that I really want to include in some of my projects, including a welcome pack for our guests. I had this area covered before because I had bought some awesome rhinestone napkin rings similar to ZGallerie's from Hobby Lobby awhile back, but I cannot find the box that I had them in!! So, I didn't want to risk not having them. I found these at Yallstore on Ebay for a great price. They have a few colors available, but I ordered the clear rhinestone. They have netting & rhinestones in the center. Well, I went to a wedding recently & the Wedding Party, ie Hostesses, seemed to blend together, even though they were all wearing the same color. So, I purchased some custom pins/brooches special for our girls to wear & to keep forever. And help them to stand out. The pins are from Etsy Seller-All That Jazz. I LOVE this seller! She is quick to respond, & shares pics every step of the way. I got the pins in today, & they were all packaged in gift boxes. I am thinking about adding black and white guinea feathers, which is what our guys' bouts have. I think it will all look fabulous on the Hostesses' black dresses.]]> Centerpieces - Almost Done! http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/139790 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/139790 Sun, 27 Jun 2010 18:47:00 PST My pomanders are done (silk roses-blend of white & ivory ) & tiff blue lampshades on candle holders. The lampshades will alternate with the pomander topped damask vases on every other guest table. For some reason, this has been one of the biggest challenges-deciding centerpieces, but keeping it simple. I still plan to trim the bottoms of the lampshades with flowers or crystal garland. The lampshades are from the awesome Stephanie (Cre8tive).]]> Menus! - For the Little People :) http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/134502 http://www.weddingbycolor.com/gratefulbride/milestones/134502 Fri, 04 Jun 2010 08:35:00 PST Something new added to the kids station! Kids Menus. They're not extravagant....they are eating 1-2 sides already on the adult menu, along with chicken strips, & of course a cupcake like everyone else. The menus add a little pizazz and are informative for the parents as well. We will have a couple of teens on board helping at their area to make sure their little plates are brought to them, instead of things becoming hectic, lol. I love the pieces, & am thinking of using them on our candy table, along with a few of the apothecary jars we have on hand. The table cloth will be black and white damask (pictured. that mock setup is from Marta, who I bought the tablecloth from). The candy signs are tiffany-ish blue with white calligraphy. The candy will be in "tiffany" blue/aqua. What color do you guys think I should paint the stands? Here are the options: A- Black B- White C- Tiffany Blue D- None of it! Leave it Gold. Instead of printing alot of escort cards, they used a few table frames to display a smaller seating chart. I thought this was a really good idea & something you can do at home. Just split up the names in alphabetical order, add some flourishes (or your desired details), & print. I had been planning to put our seating chart in a large Ikea frame on an easel, but we may go with something like this. ***Photos from slhashimoto's blog on Project Wedding! You ladies are amazing. Shayne was one of the emailers & she actually was responding to some questions I had. The girl keeps it really real, lol. She really motivated me to keep on keepin on & I just really appreciate it. On top of it all, I now have an official WBC badge over there!! I remember alot of you who I mentioned being WBC Queens (and many others who may not have been mentioned), & so I share my crown with all of you! It makes me soooo happy to see the power of ONE person sending something positive, & like negativity it can create a chain reaction, but on here, I hope we keep the Blog love & fellowship going strong. I thought my mind was made up on the song I will walk down the aisle to, but over the weekend-it changed because my Pastor's daughter walked down the aisle to my choice. Of course, more than one person can totally choose the same song, but when you're going non traditional, & you hear "your" song again, it seems sort of "duplicated" & I don't want it to seem like I was copying. Anyhow, our friend who is singing me down the aisle (lol), introduced a song by Bebe Winans to me, which I like...but not sure I love. I came across another Christian song that really touched me when I heard the words. It reminds me so much of all the things my FH & I have been through together & how we love each other so much. The main photo is from work done by Dress Your Event on Etsy. She also completed our crystal hang tags for us (pictured). FH knows that Marta (Marta12, tiffany blue & damask bride) was very dear to me, so we are excited to have a special place for her at our wedding. I bought a tiffany blue paper parasol awhile back, but I may not use it. I am really loving the softness & details of this one. Will keep you guys posted! This particular one is from Bella Umbrellas. It is one of the least expensive that they offer. I am going to check a few other places for better prices, but may go with this one.... Tiffany brides can relate to me in how difficult it is to find certain items in our colors, lol. In person, they are totally worth it. We chose the black boxes with stripes inside. For our Flower Girl, we went with a black with tiffany blue tutu tote bag. I couldn't be happier with it! There was a miscommunication with the free embroidery, so her name isn't on it, but it all worked out because I found a $4 black lace/rhinestone hair clip from Forever 21 to attach in the middle. It's ALL stuff they can use again and again. The blue tiffany tag is awesome because the back side is flourish & leaves room for us to write her name & a message.
