Wedding Newsletter

Thank you MARTA!

Update: I removed my previous newsletter off this blog, to not be confused with the new & improved version that Miss Marta "renovated" for me. I thought my newsletter was "acceptable" before to be sent out, but now I can send it out with the reassurance that it has a professional, clean touch. I credit each of us as creative brides, but I have to give credit where credit is due, and Marta is definitely the icing on the cake!

I was wondering if any of you are doing a wedding newsletter. I realize that we are a very tech savvy generation, & most everything is communicated thru email, online pages, & even text/phone. But....I have some relatives who really don't bother with much of that. My grandma & other older relatives (of mine) would much rather see something in the mail (especially with lots of them being out of town).

Lately, I've been getting lots of questions of "where did you get your dress", "what style is it", "tell me more about Lleweyn & the proposal", "what hotel", etc..I am in the process of creating a newsletter for our family members, young and old so that they can be in on the loop almost as much as we are. I think we can afford to do this timewise, since our wedding is a year away. We'll probably just send out 3-4 editions (between now & March 09) with our photos, the "so called" theme that we're incorporating, family news, news about us, info about the church/reception site, additional updates that our families crave! Plus it can be created for free! You know ours will have damask detail somewhere on it!

I will also send a modified version to our wedding party & committee (team of friends who are helping with the decor, set up). This will include photos of dress fittings, shower & brunch info, & latest news.

I'm doing a "bridesmaid" newsletter, i give out a new edition to the girls each month, with updates, things to do, where they can help out, and all the other details and ideas i get along the way.
the girls loooooove it and its a great way to keep EVERYONE informed as well as to save yourself having to explain the same thing over and over and over again.

i did mine up on microsoft publisher and then just had them printed. Each letter is about 10 pages long.... (i LIVE For this kind of stuff so i get a bit carried away!)

if you want ideas or to see a copy of mine just let me know!!!

This is a great idea... I was trying to develop something like this... 80% of my FH's fam and friends are out-of-town.  And most aren't tech savvy.  Also, yes, I am making my own broom!

Oh this is perfect. I agree with bodygardner 80% of our guests are OOTers as well. This newsletter will be great to keep everyone informed. Thanks Grateful Bride, love this idea.

Hey Ladies....I did it!  I made our first official newsletter tonight!  This edition is the more general for friends/family....it's almost like an announcement, but more!  I tried to upload a post, but wouldn't you know it isn't cooperating.  If you want to view it at all, I will email it to you.  Just email me.  I included an intro to just let everyone know the whole purpose of the newsletter, how we met, the engagement story, & very brief wedding details....I gotta save something for the STD & invitation!  Also included our couples email address & contact info.  Once you all get started, it is so pleasing to see the end result!  I just have to gather a few more photos, & I'll be mailing it out next week!

This is such a great and creative touch. It would help to keep guests and the wedding party informed should there be updates...which of course there will! Sounds like your plans are going very well. Congratulations!
