Wedding Ink....A Tattoo?

So, I was just thinking about my Fiance's ring (have not purchased yet), and I got to thinking about a tattooed band. Not necessarily thinking of doing it, but just the idea of getting one in general. We have never really discussed it, & I know I will be getting him an actual ring, most likely with something personalized on the inner part.

I was curious though, to know whether any of you brides (and H2B) may be considering (or already have) a tattooed band. Maybe even to have between the two of you to have underneath your actual wedding band(s). It may be a date of significance, your initials, a personal message, etc.. Would you do it?

i would do it. not sure if i will but i am into tatts and think its a cool idea... i do have a friend that was not crazy into tattoos and she got the ring when she got married and wishes she did not... but you can always have them removed if you HAVE to :)

i am getting a tattoo with his/our last name... (i am going to work into my back piece)

i say go for it!! ;)

I really like the idea, i know my H2B would be good with it but i am a bit of a chicken lol

This is a really neat idea. My H2B is an engineer so he won't be able to wear his actual wedding band very often when he is working (there is too much of a chance of it leading to a lost finger or something similar).  I'll have to mention this to him to see what he thinks.  Thanks for the idea!!!

I am also going to be getting a tattoo of my maiden name so that it will always be a part of me! :)

I actually went this last weekend and got my first tattoo...and I love it. My Trav has 6.....so I guess you could say we are into tattoos and I think this idea is great honestly. Even if it's not rings the thought of having something special juz between the two of you that no one may know about or may...whichever...is super intimate. I think it's excellent!!

I think this idea is fabulous.

If I weren't so afraid of needles, I would most definitely choose this over a ring.

I love love love this idea!

We did, I like it but my ring that I got also sits over/underish of it and I like it, but it does look a little funny, and it hurt like HELL!!

Hey, Miss you too...LOL

I think it's a great idea.  Shon and I were actually thinking about doing it before we got our rings.  I keep changing the wedding date and it'll be a nice gesture (to him a least). Go for it and tell me how much pain you felt.  Luckily, Shon is only 4 letters.

I love this idea!  I actually wrote about it on my blog too.  My fiance would never, ever do it and wouldn't really like me to either.  It would be awesome though!!

My fiance is already really tatooed so we have thought about it but we haven't decided its such a sweet idea though

How funny i was thinking of getting the date under the band/ring tattooed .

LOL, kind of cool. We both have a few tattoos but I'm not sure if I would  be up for this. He probably would go for it. It reminds me of before i moved to Florida, when we still has 1300 miles between us. He wanted to get me a necklace with a pendant that had POJ on it for Property of Jameson. It's been our inside joke since. Haha, if we did this I'm sure I would get POJ tattood under the ring and he'd get POR.

Very neat idea. I have a couple of married friends that has chosen a tat opposed to a ring. So good luck deciding.

No, it's not for me. I don't like tattoos and I know a few people who DEEPLY regretted having tattooed someone's name on them. So, no.

I personally already have 9 tattoos... most on my back. but I love them and my H2B has 4 and we have actually talked about that and we just love the idea... Our tattoo artist is actually drawing something up since he knows us both and he has given us all of our tats... if you want it i would definitely do it its something small and simple and it will be my smallest one yet but i would just put under where the band goes... its a perfect idea!!!!

I think it's a great idea.  I want to do it but my guy seems to need a bit of convincing.

I'm especially into the idea because we're both already tattooed, so it's no new venture in that aspect.  Also because we can't afford the bands we really want at this moment.  And a tattoo is pretty close to zero.  It would be a temporary solution to the no-ring thing and also a lasting memento.

absolutely:)

My FH proposed by tattooing "I love you Will you marry me" on his body in French alongside a pic of an Eiffel tower, as we are getting married in the South of France:)

And during his whole will you marry me bit, he said that I was "the missing piece to his puzzle" .

I have been wanting a puzzle tattoo for some time and was going to tattoo a symbol for soul mate separately, but I am going to surprise him by tattooing soul mate in french inside the puzzle piece instead:)

Was going to get a toe ring tattooed years ago until someone I knew stole my idea...*sigh*
