Here is a mock up of the floral arrangements that will line the aisle. I threw some other flowers in...

Photo Sharing Cards
How Are You Including Them?
If you & your Groom are using some type of Photo Sharing Card, how are you getting the word out? I've heard of putting them in out of town boxes, sending them out after the wedding with the Thank You Cards, including them in a Welcome Booklet, or displaying somewhere at the reception, like at place settings, or on trays in strategic places around the room. ALL great ideas..
I plan to have free postcards printed out at Vistaprint, & may "tweak" this design a little since I made it some time ago. I already have the request up on our wedding website, but I feel that with it blended in with so many other things wedding-wise, it may tend to get overlooked by the time out wedding actually rolls around. So, I am thinking of putting them in each oot box, & around the reception. My thoughts are that I want each guest to be mindful when taking the pics that we would love everyone to have access to viewing (everyone, meaning guests). I love the idea that our guests can share & view so many different perspectives & shots from the entire weekend! So, if you are having Photo Sharing Cards, how do you plan to ask? |

Damask Hanger
Personalized
I love this hanger that I got for my MOH as one of her gifts. I also think it will make beautiful photo ops. I love the monogrammed hangers, but this hanger was more in my price range, plus the little personalized tag can be removed when my MOH gets tired of it, lol.
I purchased the hanger from Etsy Seller KimGrant Ink. She is awesome, & also has plenty of other designs. BTW, that is my MOH's dress pictured. The color is "Mermaid" ;) |

Do it Yourself
Beautiful Vellum Tealight Lanterns
Since I only have 2 pomanders complete for our inner aisle {to be placed on chairs}, I just fell into a lazy rut & don't really feel like making more, lol. BUT, when I came across this super lovely DIY pinhole monogram tealight project on Project Wedding, I fell in love:)
Since we plan to have a later afternoon, early evening wedding {whenever the date is}, these will add a beautiful glow. If I don't use these for the ceremony, I might use somewhere at the reception? I will post my version once complete:) IF I even do this, lol....stay tuned. ;) For instructions: http://www.projectwedding.com/wiki/show/diy-tea-light-lanterns |

Ask a Question
DIY Arches
Does anyone know where to begin on making these arches?
Our ceremony decor is going to be very simplistic & minimal, but out of the few elements there, I want a beautiful impact. I fell in love with these arches some time ago, to put on top of inexpensive pillars at the start of the aisle. Ours will be on a smaller scale, due to budget & at my risk of DIY, I don't want to bite off more than I can chew! I'm figuring I will need maybe manzanita branches, maybe curly willow...or something, but how do you get the arch effect? I'm concerned on how to get the branches to look "bent". ANY & all suggestions welcome. Floral/branch projects are not really my specialty, lol. TIA! |

Ask a Question
4th of July Plans? {NWR}
I have a ton of things (clothes, handbags, home decor items, etc) that are not being used, so I have decided to pair up with my sister and have a huge Garage Sale this Saturday to purge our junk, & hopefully earn some $$$$. Later in the evening, my FH & I are checking out the Minor League Baseball Team & enjoying fireworks there at the game.
I've declared not to touch one thing wedding related on that day, & just enjoy some BBQ & homemade banana pudding :) How are you all planning to spend your 4th? Will you do anything traditional, or stick with wedding stuff? |

Ask a Question
Envy Much?
Just wondering if you ever feel like looking at wedding blogs/magazines, etc make you want a little more than you normally would if you were planning your wedding without the internet.
I am not a jealous/envious person by nature. I am always happy for others & work VERY hard for what I have, but there are times when I see more & MORE fabulous things that I think to myself would be beautiful in our wedding, lol. For example, I already have an aisle runner that is perfect for my FH & I, but I keep stalking this damask-like runner on Etsy {the one pictured}. No way am I going to purchase it, we are already set, but it's like I can't help looking at all these items we could use, & then I have to step back & do a reality check with the meaning of our wedding, along with the size of our budget :) So, are there any items that you see on other blogs that you could totally see in your own wedding, even if you ALREADY have your own? Or, do you ever look at other items & want to "borrow" them for your own wedding?? What would you borrow? |

Flower Girl Dress
Check!
<
I originally ordered Tayler's dress from Sweet Plume on Etsy, and when it came in, I thought it was not worth the $$$. The seller ended up contacting me for my feedback, & I let her know my concerns. She ended up refunding money for shipping so that I could send her the original dress back, then UPGRADED my dress to the one I really wanted, for free. It was about a $30 difference. I am really excited to have damask AND tiffany blue (it's really hard to see the damask in the pic I took) for our Flower Girl, because that's really the only damask that will be seen at the ceremony, lol, unless I use it in our programs. I am most excited that it's different & not like the same flower dress that comes to mind. They're all beautiful, but I wanted something that she'd have fun wearing again at a later date... Tayler tried her dress on (I went up a couple of sizes due to date change) & she LOVES it. I knew she'd love all the tulle so she could feel like a ballerina. She cried when my sister told her to take it off, so I am glad that she loves her dress, lol. I willl be adding a white flower to her sash. |

Our Cardbox
Flourish & Chandelier
Our cardbox is complete! I shot the vision to Amanda, at Shea Chic Designs on Etsy, & she ran with it. I was inspired by an all square chandelier covered cake, but wanted a variation with square & round boxes. I also wanted to get back to our original colors with the Steel Gray & Tiffany Blue. I decided not to incorporate damask in this, but a damask/flourish feel to the pattern. Crystal baubles are tied in at the top of the box.
One of the greatest compliments came from the designer, when she told me that in making this cardbox, it was "fun & inspiring" & she also told me that she will be making another one similar to this now for her own home & studio:) |

Ask a Question
What Color(s) Would You Choose?
If you had the oppurtunity to have another wedding, or decided to just up & change things around, what wedding colors would you choose? What things would you like to add?
I personally would love to have a wedding with shades of pink, from soft mauve to deep pink, with ivory & pewter. I love the victorian look with crystals & candleabras. What color choices would you select if you hadn't gone with your current palette? |

Lace & Victorian Inspired
For Upcoming Portraits
So, lately I've been broke as a joke with unexpected car expenses & my teaching job wrapping up, BUT I still have to plan for those breakthrough moments & part time job checks!
I have Bridal Portraits scheduled for this summer, & have been thinking of some sort of detail I would love to incorportate. That's when I came across these beautiful, Victorian inspired lace fans & parasols on www.parasolpassion.com. I love the monogrammed parasols, & now that I've seen so many brides DIY for less, I am definitely hooked! However, I love the look of the lace, & I think it will be a lovely touch with my veil (mantilla). I will probably go with the Aqua lace (in the pic with the multi parasols) for a pop of color. The parasols are currently on sale at this site, but could probably be found on Ebay for less. The fan is soooo gorgeous, & as much as I'd love to have it, I would have to make a choice between that or the parasol, or maybe DIY. I posted for inspiration for you brides. :) |
