Welcome to Charlotte
Phase I
So you guys already know that I worked on a few simple, but time consuming projects last weekend (which happened to be my birthday weekend, WOOOH!!). In the project category, I included our welcome boxes.

I got a bunch of white gable boxes from a local paper store, in December while they were going out of business. I got maybe 65 for $30. I had our chandelier (not seen here) & damask monogram in the aqua & gray designed, & printed on layered cardstock tags done by Jessica at Jessica'sDesign Shop. She's fab! The tags were attached to each box with a shimmery, sheer, silver ribbon.

Anyway, here is a glimpse of what I started. All 65 boxes have been assembled. The tags have our names & wedding date on them, and our water bottle labels say "Welcome to Charlotte". There are love facts on the contents section on the back of bottle. I got the damask tissue paper from the same place where the boxes were purchased.

So far, I only have water bottles, State Maps (got for free from the State), & "Mint to Be' damasked labeled peppermint packs inside the boxes. I will put chips or pretzels, our welcome brochure (I'm having printed via Vista Print), tea bags, Tylenol mini packs, maybe some chocolate kisses or miniatures since most ppl like chocolate & a mini bottle of water with the labels that Marta12 (awesome) designed for me awhile back. I will post Phase II upon completion.

Oh, & the candlesticks are another favor for the favor table that I got in Tiffany/Aqua Blue. They shouldn't really be in this post, but I feel lazy today & don't feel like moving it, lol.

A Few Things Done
On Saturday, I had a couple of good friends over to help me get as many little tedious things done in a short window of time. We worked on assembling favor boxes, & out of town boxes!

My friend got the glue gun out & we attached maribou feathers to the tops of my aqua boxes, & added an adhesive crystal for a touch of chic! Then, I also had these small, silver takeout style favor boxes, so we attached ribbon & a personalized sticker.

Ask a Question
Which Bolero is Your Fave?
Please help a sister out!

I am toggling in between these two VERY similar bolero's from Etsy's, and can't get my mind right. One has more lace detail along the sleeve than the other. I have always LOVED these since I first began planning, & I wanted the lace in there to compliment my lacey veil. Plus it's an added bonus to cover my flabby arms, lol.

Can you please take a look & tell me which one you like better (if you like at all, lol).

Thanks a Million!!!

Note...the "Bolero Three" photo is from a different seller who is charging twice the price, however, I like the cropped sleeves...I threw that pic in to be considered as well so that seller can customize bolero if need be.....

Little Blue Boxes
Great Deals
I've been scouring the net this past week trying to get a reasonable deal on an aqua or tiffany blue favor box for our cake & punch reception (I've been in a hurry because I am having friends over next weekend to help get some of my DIY list tackled). I really wanted a favor that was pretty, but also inexpensive. In between Craigslist, Ebay & Efavormart.com, I lucked out with Efavormart! Their regular price for 100 boxes is $79.99 (in turquoise). They are currently running for $34.99. Just thought I'd share! You might be able to do better than this special, but if not, I hope it may help a fellow bride.

I am going to play around with my lace tape or damask tape on these to keep from buying ribbon (hopefully) and top them off with a unique embellishment. I will post pics for you ladies when it's all said & done. I'm just ready to get the list checked off!

CD
Simple with Pizazz
I saw some really cute, yet simple cd wraps on Etsy recently, & decided to try them out myself. The Seller is Megan with Megasmiles. She has an awesome & AFFORDABLE store! Check her out! She's quick to reply to any questions you have.

I used cardstock, crystal brads, damask wrapping paper, & double sided tape. I trimmed with scissors, but it definitely needs a REAL paper cutter, as one of my edges is all wavy & rough, lol.

Anyhow, this is just a trial to see what it would look like. The stickers just say From: The Prescotts. This might be a favor for our guests at our cake and punch reception, along with a small candy filled box. I am still contemplating. I already have most of the supplies on hand, so it would be a project of less than $25 for 60 ppl, including the cds.

I Found My Earrings!
Crystal Clear
I found my Bridal earrings to compliment the Austrian Crystal necklace that I am wearing on my wedding day. To see what the necklace looks like, copy this link into browser:

The earrings are actually being custom made by The Velvet Olive on Etsy at a terrific price. She is actually doing a larger version of what is pictured here, but still in a teardrop shape crystal. They will have a silver base instead of the gold. I am very excited!

BTW, it turns out that I have a very similar crystal necklace that my great grandmother gifted me before passing away recently. This will be my "something old". The only difference with her necklace is that it dosen't have the crystal pendant, but I can easily add that for a fraction of what I would have spent on the entire necklace. Yay for an ALMOST complete wardrobe!

Damask Treat Boxes
For Our Welcome Boxes
In about 2 weeks, I'm having a DIY party at my house to tackle some of the projects that I haven't completed, or just flat out have not made it to yet. About 4 friends from our Wedding Party are coming to lend some elbow grease!

One of the many projects on the list is our Welcome Boxes for our Out of town guests. I ordered these little treat/favor bags from LittlebeaneBoutique on Etsy. They are inexpensive, & perfect for putting candy inside for our boxes, rather than just tossing in loosely. Actually, I think we'll put mints in them, & personalize the label with the infamous "Mint to Be" quote:)

I got some great brochures from the State of NC sent to me for free to put in each box. They include maps & details about the State. I am also going to the Chamber to look for other helpful brochures for our out of towners. The other fun info is formatted in my welcome booklet that I created in Word.

The water bottle labels are ready for wrapping, but I need to get the chips/pretzels, & tea bags to add.

Merci Beaucoup
Thanks for Our Wedding Attendants
Here is a mockup of the cards we are giving to our Wedding Attendants & Family at the Rehearsal Dinner. We will also have a small gift for each participant, and a little more for our Pastors & parents. The cards are matted on black linen type cardstock & inserted into black envelopes. This is probably the most black we are incorporating, but I am going for a more classic, edgey look for the Rehearsal Dinner.

The original image shown was actually in Bitmap form & much clearer. I couldn't upload it, but when I tried to convert, I lost clarity. The text reads:

"Thank you for all that you've done for us. We will always be grateful for your love, support & prayers. We're getting married!"

In Love,
Sonya & Lleweyn

Pinwheels for Kids...or Adults
Great Favors & Photo Opts!
Ladies, I am at the end of the planning phase & at the middle of our payment stage of things. I have a long list of things to get paid for, made, printed, stamped & ordered, BUT I saw these stylish little pinwheels on Etsy, & I just love them!

They're not in budget, but I would love to put one in each one of the paint can place settings that I made for the kids. I think they'd be extra cute during photos, while the adults hold their sparklers at send-off.

Only thing is they cost $35 for 10, so they are $3.50 each. It still is so cute, & I just wanted to share with you ladies.

P.S. I will be posting more pics of findings & projects completed, but my new camera (got for Christmas) has a broken screen!!! Uggh.

Stay tuned :)

Blue
I am anxiously excited about planning our special day, & living our very special life together. God has been so very good to us, & I will forever be grateful. Our colors are tiffany blue, irridescent white & steel gray with damask chandelier motifs. No theme really, just putting things together one day at a time.
