Here is a mock up of the floral arrangements that will line the aisle. I threw some other flowers in...

Chic Gift Boxes
Damask & Chandelier
![]() I absolutely love the look of this favor box from Littlebirdieboutique's Shop on Etsy. She attached a button to the top for extra detail on top of the damask pattern, & then hung a beautifully embellished chandelier tag from Mulberrymuses's Shop (also from Etsy). The favor boxes are $22.50 for 10, & the tags are $8.95 for 6. I really have no need for these boxes, unless I use them for Bridal Shower favors, but I am trying to find a cheaper route. You can get 10 favor boxes (solid colors without embellishments) for $7.90 from Sophies Favors. I would probably get the Aqua Blue, then wrap with the Damask Packing Tape, $7.99 a roll from This Next dot com. As for the tags, I might be able to make my own in Publisher, & print on cardstock, which would save lots of money. These are a few options for any DIY brides looking for small boxes to embellish. P.S. Any ideas of what I could put in these for a Bridal Shower favor? |

Favor Style
Thanks to Ms. Stewart
![]() My FH & I decided a long time ago to have an edible favor for our guests. We also agreed on a monogrammed cookie favor to do the trick. I also have thought about having a cookie buffet with pretty & yummy cookies. Now, after seeing this setup by Martha Stewart, the plan has slightly shifted. We are going to have 3 of the inexpensive round decor tables (larger sized) that you can get at WalMart or another home store, dressed in either white or tiffany blue linens, with a band of damask or white lace fabric around the top, like pictured here. For the favors, we will still have a monogrammed cookie, in addition to customized & wrapped soap (found a very sweet bride here who's mom does this & it's fabulous), tiffany blue candle sticks, & blue mints, & of course, the cookies, lol. To stay within budget, I am scaling the quantities to less than 30 per item, that way, there is a good variety for each guest. As for the cd favors we're working on (a few posts down), we will put those in the oot guest boxes only. That will save $$$. |

Our Cake Topper
![]() I have had the pleasure of working with Landra & Brianna at the EVENTistas Etsy Shop. They recently completed my Swarvoski crystal embedded cake topper (aqua, clear & a few black crystals), & are in the process of completing our customized aisle runner. As most of you know, I have been knee deep in DIY projects, & as much as I love them, there are some things I'd rather just leave to the pros, & I'm so glad I did. I love the way the topper turned out. Also, FH & I are having a simple square cake to cut. The rest of the cake will be cupcakes inside of filigree wrappers, like pictured here. I am working on my cupcake tier now, trying to figure out if I want to make it damask, or solid tiffany blue for the pop of color. OR...I am thinking of doing a steel gray based tier, with a tiffany blue table linen/skirt. |

Need a Wedding Dress?

![]() But this is such an incredibly thoughtful gesture from a fellow bride, D1rty Martini @ Project Wedding (she is also a Green bride here). Wall Vinyl
I Love It
![]() I was on one of my favorite sites, Etsy.com, & came across wall vinyl, which I've seen before, & actually was set on ordering from Wedding Graffiti, BUT these prices are alot easier on the wallet. Seller is ScribbleIt. The wall vinyl is great because it's a way to personalize your event or space without damaging your walls. I was VERY excited to see that they have not only Damask, but Chandelier motifs as well. I am planning to have our names/monogram done & placed on the wall behind the altar for our ceremony. The damask & chandelier will be at the reception...one behind the head table & the other motif behind the gift or guestbook table. Seller also offers a variety of colors. |

Photo Projects
![]() I had drawn the line on adding anymore DIY projects only because my days have been really busy completing the ones that I've blogged about on here, lol. But low & behold, I found yet another to add to my list. Only this time, I'm handing it over to my favorite handyman, Mr. Gratefulbride, to help me (I may have to do some begging & pleading). The plan is to make this extra lovely folding photo screen for the reception. I want to have it near the foyer area as guests enter & sign the guestbook. I've already placed an order for some damask fabric, & I will get some aqua blue ribbon for the trimmings. You pretty much need a basic floor screen (Im looking for a cheapo version, even used, so I'm hitting Goodwills, Bog Lots & discount stores this week), & foam board! I will use this screen to display a memory of my FH & myself throughout the years, from childhood to now.. Ask a Question
What Are You & The Brows Doing For the Big Day!?
![]() Just wondering what you ladies are doing for your day of eyebrows, or if you'll be doing anything to them at all. IMO, a cleanly arched or manicured eyebrow can really open & beautify one's look, but understandably is not a choice for all. The options that I'm aware of are: Tweezing (I'm known to put baby Anbesol on my brows & tweeze a pretty, clean arch) Waxing (the good old Hot Stuff) Threading (An increasingly popular ancient Middle Eastern and Indian method of hair removal. Basically, a skilled threader uses a soft piece of cotton to individually pull out strands of pesky lil hairs and in a matter of minutes, youre hair free! This can be done on your brows, your upper lip or your face) Or, Tattooing.. I have tried all of the above EXCEPT the tattooed brows. I didn't think I'd like the threading, but it gives a really gives a smooth, beautiful & long lasting finish. Plus, it's natural (they generally use cotton, opposed to ht waxes with chemicals), so it leaves my brow area from being puffy & red. As for the wedding day, it'll probably be my infamous tweezers or the threading. How about you? |
