Ask a Question
What Are You & Your FH Doing for Thanksgiving?

Due to our work schedules, my FH & I have been deprived of some much needed quality time together. We are talking about driving down to Florida to spend Turkey Day with his parents. If we don't go there, we might like to cook something at his place, or stop by my parents. Everything is still up in the air.

What are you guys doing for the holidays? Will you do something just the two of you, or extend it?

For Your Tears of Joy
Something Extra Glam

Wow. All I can say is I thought I had an idea of what to do for some basic vellum or tissue wrapped tears of joy packs, but this bride definitely set a new standard! I love her creativity. She printed out in a brownish gold font, but also got a calligrapher to hand write some of her other beautiful projects, such as table signs & place cards, so that she could get it in a truer gold tone (courtesy The Bunny @ Project Wedding).

I must say that I am going to attempt at something like this, only with my printer, not a calligrapher. It's basically just cardstock, kleenex/tissue, & whatever embellishment you want. For me, to save time & money, I will probably just attach adhesive clear rhinestones, instead of the beautiful crystal hanging pieces. I won't do enough for each & every guest either, as I know they wont all need them. Probably 60% of our guest count. I will definitely post the finished product!

Damask for the Boys
Accessories

I've bookmarked these adorable Damask neckties before for my twin ringbearers (actually, they'll be carrying the Bride Banner), neckties found at http://www.amazinggracieinc.com/. Since I wont have damask anywhere else in the wedding day attire, just decor, I think it would be a nice pop for the boys to wear. I am even thinking of letting their attire be less formal, & more fun & carefree much like the boy pictured.

As for the banner, I am currently working on it! I bought some Tiffany Blueish material & will put the font in a script white. I will post pics soon. :)

Pretty Parasols
For the Ceremony

There's a possibilty that our wedding may move outdoors now, & down here, June can be pretty harsh. We are already having scallop fan programs that may help with the air circulation, but I am starting to lean towards providing parasols/paper umbrellas for our guests as an option.

I want to do one color for our reserved seating area (probably just our parents & grandmothers) & another color or pattern for our other special guests. I selected most of these off of www.paperlanternstorecom, but www.orientaltrading.com has great prices as well, especially for plain white that you may want to keep in that color, or possily decorate or personalize.

Change of Plans

I think that since we've changed the wedd date, I've had this surge to adjust some of the elements that I thought would stick until the big day. Not a whole lot is changing..the colors are definitely staying, but the invites, stds & centerpieces will change a little.

I love pomanders, & I am thinking of doing carnation pomanders with inserted crystals for sparkle on top of a vase (like pictured), with a dangling crystal strand & ribbon to band it. I love the simplicity & glam appeal! I still want my candles, so I am thinking votives surrounding the centerpiece. The one here was made with tissue, & that is definitely being considered to cut costs.

For the head table, I am still doing trumpet vases with lamp shades, & white submerged orchids.
This photo was grabbed from lh2b at Project Wedding. Check out her fabulousness!!! She has a gorgeous day ahead...

Ask a Question
Post Your Favorite Recipes!

So, this is not wedding related,or maybe it is.....I guess this could help out with wedding related gatherings, or menu choices! Just curious if we have any cooks on here, or any brides-to-be who like to dabble around in the kitchen, especially with the holidays coming up.

Some of my favorite recipes include:

Baked Macaroni & Cheese
Slow Cooked Beef Ribs Smothered Chicken
Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Sex in a Pan (Dessert): This dessert is layered with butter graham crust, cream cheese, chocolate, vanilla & butterscotch puddings, cool whip, chocolate shavings & nuts on top(optional)
Caramel Cake (the creamy, rich, butter frosting is what makes this cake!!)
Chicken & Dumplings

Okay, I have to stop here. These are just a few of my faves. I didnt list all of the ingredients/recipes because my hands are tired & I,m being lazy because Im under the weather today. So...what are some of your favorite things to cook?

DIY Wedding
For the Sparklers

While I was on Style Me Pretty, I saw some of the best DIY projects :)

Included in the search, I came across these stylish little sparkler sleeves & matching DIY matchbook covers. It's a nice alternative to putting them in vases, plus helps with portion control to get the most out of your sparklers. Now, I admit that I'm a DIY bride, but I do have to limit myself. Wrapping & cutting 100 of those little matchbook covers is going to be a no-no for me, lol. I already ordered some personalized matches (see older post), & I'll get cardstock to match with our monogram printed on, like in the pic here. I just wanted to include the matches with the sparkler covers to possibly help someone else who is craftier than me. :)

Enjoy...

DIY Wedding
Chic Centerpiece Idea

I thought I was finished with the whole centerpiece thing, but then I came across this fabulous find on Style Me Pretty.

It's a DIY project with some pretty simple tools (such as clay pots, spraypaint & toilet paper tubes). I am thinking about making this for the guest book table instead of having the well-loved crystal tree. Or, I may just add a few crystal strands to it & have the best of both worlds. I love, love, LOVE the little Damask tubes & feather pieces at the tops.

Fabulous Invites
For a Soiree or Shower

Papernosh is one of my favorite vendors at Etsy.com. Featured here are two extra delicious invites that I am considering "hinting" to my MOH for my Bridal Shower or luncheon. The mere inspiration is enough to DIY to cut costs. I really love the chandelier motif with the polished look & beautiful embellishments, plus the funky envelopes seal the beauty. I think that between my MOH & I, we may be able to pull off a close look...

Stamp It
Save-the-Dates

I came across this extra cute rubber stamp for a unique catch phrase save the date. The price is $23 just for a rubber stamp, but considering the money saved on printing, it really saves.

I found this keeper on Etsy.com. Seller: Babyjewels.

Blue
I am anxiously excited about planning our special day, & living our very special life together. God has been so very good to us, & I will forever be grateful. Our colors are tiffany blue, irridescent white & steel gray with damask chandelier motifs. No theme really, just putting things together one day at a time.
