Here is a mock up of the floral arrangements that will line the aisle. I threw some other flowers in...

Cake Holders
Serve It Up! I was NOT looking for more cake options because I am already in a whirlwind of what to choose....cake or elegant cupcakes? Either way, I won't be disappointed, but I really like these cake platforms. I'd probably get them in aqua or red & keep the rest of the cake simple, with our monogram topper & maybe bands of color, like pictured here. We were wanting to have our scriptures iced around at least one tier, so that would be an option. I'm really not much of a flower diva, dispite all the millions of strands that I'm adoring below! I like the look of it here, but I'd probably stick with candle votives, or some of those faux diamond pieces scattered around.

Ceremony
Garlands of Flowers I wasn't really factoring much to be added to the Church ceremony as far as decor goes, but I do need to soften the room up a little. The walls are all white, and all the chairs are maroon, as well as the carpet. Not my wedding colors, so I need to soften it as much as possible without looking overdone.
It sounds odd, but I will do a steel gray runner to contrast the floor color & take the maroon away from the vision, & have white luminaries lining the runner, as well as aqua petals. There will most likely be sheer white fabric draping the ceiling, & then at the altar, I like the look of these strands of orchids. It's hard to word, but I have the visual in mind & believe that it just may work. For the pop of red, I will most likely have the pomanders hanging on every other inner pew. Stay tuned..... |

Menu Cards
Wedding Stationery II found these designs (and more) at www.whiteaisle.com. I really like the place cards, menu cards & table cards. I'm trying to make up my mind on which style I like most.

Ice Cream Goodness
Ice Cream Bar For the Rehearsal Dinner, I have had some great advice on cakes (to do or not to do...), & my groom isn't much of a cake person, but he is an ice cream person! Instead of doing the big Steelers Football cake, like I originally thought about, I will incorporate his love for foot ball in another project.
Instead, we will have an ice cream bar set up. SInce there will be less than 50 people in attendance for the rehearsal dinner, this will be very economical, thanks to my friends at Sams Club! We'll have some Haagen Daaz Vanilla, Chocolate & Butter Pecan....& some frozen yogurt for the "not so ice cream feelers". In addition to the flavors, I will get some aqua or red acrylic ice cream bowls, have brownie chunks, hot fudge, caramel, nuts, whipped cream, waffle cone bowls, fruit toppings, etc...I'm looking forward to this! |

The Ceiling
From Top to Bottom.... I like to have balance when I decorate & have completion at the top, as well as the bottom. Whether simple or elaborate. In this case, I'm wanting fun, airy, but with a sortof whimsical approach. I made these tissue paper pompoms before & being that they're very fun & pretty when you walk into the room, I am considering hanging them up at our rehearsal dinner. Please sit these colors to the side though. They are beautiful, but for our colors, I will probably have variations of pale aqua, robin's egg...whatever it is I'm using :) & maybe even some white.
The steel gray will probably be incorporated in for the candle holders on the table. There will be a table runner made out of aqua & white wrapping paper, edged in that fabric tape stuff. For the red, I will either have red chargers under the plates, or red napkin rings. Being that this will be very casual, & laid back (at our church fellowship hall), we will have those dressy plastic plates. I forget the site, but they have plasticware in the funkiest, trendy designs & colors, & they don't look cheap! I also like the chandelier approach that can be hung. I can do battery operated candles on the chandelier for lighting & get the little shade toppers to match the scheme. I am considering this because it's very pretty & simple. |

Rehearsal Dinner
Let's Eat! Our wedding isn't going to be crazy formal...I guess "laid back" formal, if there is such a thing. Being that there will probably be about 30-40 people @ our rehearsal dinner by the time we count the few people in our wedding party, plus close friends & family traveling into town, I am thinking of just doing a casual rehearsal dinner at our church fellowship hall (since we'll be there anyway). A friend of mine has offered to basically run the show, & I am thinking of doing a photo slide show there. Menu will probably be deli/sub sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit skewers, veggie platter & beverages. This way, the menu is pretty general to please most tastes, & the real food can be served the following day.
My friend's mom makes the world's best pound cake, but I want to consider doing the groom's cake then too. He is NOT a big dessert eater, but he LOVES the Pittsburgh Steelers. I saw the best ever Steelers cake online & am considering, but will that be just to please me???? I have him in mind of course, which is why I want to do it....& I know other people will be woofing the cake down, but do you guys have any other suggestions for a groom treat, or should I stick with the cake?? Ask him & he'll shrug his shoulders. |

Coffee Station
Wake Up & Smell The Coffee We will be having a small Coffee station set up at our reception, being that we do plan to have an evening celebration, & we will not be serving alcohol, so this is a beverage option that guests can relate to if they want something other than the soft drinks, water, etc. I think it will be a nice touch especially when the dessert is served. We plan to do flavored syrups, have hot chocolate options & tea bags with hot water options, whipped cream, marshmallows, etc...
What do you guys think? |

Wedding Program
DIY Here's a pic of the Programs that I'll be making. I have a friend who is going to order the fan shaped cardstock, & she'll do the printing. I will tie some ribbon on most likely in shades of gray & aqua because the program itself will actually be in aqua.

Wedding Reception
Light It Up.... Sorry I really don't have all the photos right now, but I have the vision in my mind. We will have pale aqua paperlanterns or strings of white lights to drape the ceiling @ our reception. We will most likely be in a plain hall, with room to add. Steel gray satin & textured linens will drape the tables, & candles with submerged flowers in tall vases will centerpiece. The red will most likely come in with a few submerged red orchids on the tables.

Wedding Cake
Mmmmmm, Cupcakes! To cut down on costs, but to still have the same elements of style, taste & color, we've opted for a square cupcake tower. The styles here are merely inspiration, so the foundational pieces will be in steel gray. Like the damask pattern...it will be in steel gray/platinum & aqua. The cupcake liners in red or silver, the wrappers in white (see style to the left in pic) & the icing in aqua. Our initials will be on the cupcakes in an almost transparent color. Our top cake will be very simple, & smooth, similiar to the cake photo. Not decided on the actual cake color. WIll probably be aqua blue, with our silver Monogram Swarvoski topper & either a crystal ribbon (cake jewelry) around the base, or some mild dotting. It may be nothing at all on the cake, but the topper, because our 2 favorite scriptures will be iced around the middle of our cake.
