Guestbook
PLEASE ADVISE; another DIY
So, I really like the idea of creating a hybrid photo album/guestbook from polaroid snapshots of my guests; I want my guests to scribble messages on the little white edges and backs (in metallic sharpie!) instead of on blank pages. Even if I am unable to decipher the well-wishes and words of advise later on down the road, and even if i question my choice of color scheme (future me: metallic sharpie?), I will likely not forget the fun of the evening, especially with each guest's face captured and preserved. I like the idea of snapping little clusters of people chatting together, couples being cuddly, and the hams being hammy (um, hello groomsmen). I am thinking that it will have to be an ongoing process, rather than the thing you do as you enter the reception area, as my mom has alerted me to the fact that 200 guests will be a lot of people to manage with one camera. I agree, and I don't want people to be crowding the camera--though I suspect that may happen regardless of any premeditated distractions. Nevertheless, I think if I try to orchestrate too much, I will simply be setting myself up for disappointment. What do you guys think of the idea--too much effort? Or totally worth it?
