Flower Girl & Ring Bearer Gift Baskets
Another small victory coming in under budget.
Small basket, teddy bar, coloring book and crayons. I wanted to do something that would also serve as some entertainment for the kids at our wedding. One for the ring bearer, Mikey and one for the flower girl, Jayla. |

Flower Girl's Bouquet
Tell me these don't photograph well.
FH & I were at Michael's- I was going to make a pomander, so we were gathering materials. It was getting over budget fast. Then he saw my favorite flowers bunched together already for half the price and I took them home and wrapped white satin ribbon around the stems. Ta-da :-) And so much less expensive than giving a 6 year old real flowers to ruin. |

Bridal Shower Board
So I had a corkboard and the FH and I just got some black and white satin ribbon and went to work with the hot glue gun.
Next up- printing 7 of our engagement photos for the board and applying them to black squares of coverstock. This is for my Bridal Shower- I wanted to make one thing with a personal touch. This is also a way to remind people that this day is about both of us starting our new life together. |

Candy Bar Progress
I can not wait to order the candy already!
I've put some ribbon on the jars I have so far. Almost done gathering scoops. Now, I am on a mission for the candy dishes that spell out love. Any suggestions? |

Christening for my uncle's baby
It was so nice to get out of wedding mode and into baby mode for a day.
Last Sunday, we made the trek in the pouring rain from NJ to Brooklyn for my uncle's 2 month old, Josias' Christening. The baby made me so happy and it felt so good to go to church with the future hubby. The photos are of my wonderful Momma holding Josias. He is so animated and perfect! So much joy! I even went to the Bible store- there is an amazing one by me to get his gifts. Photos are here for you too. |

Ask a Question
Time for a personal loan? Anyone get one?
Okay, so we are 4 months off from our wedding.
We have raised 75% of the funds needed to pull off our dream wedding. We have been careful and cut everything we could. But this last couple thousand dollars have become a challenge- due to some unexpected health issues on my part. Trust me when I say- the last thing we wanted to do is apply for a loan. But, we might have to. No one can help us with the kind of money we need. Have any of you taken out a personal loan to help pay for your weddings? In these economic times, I'm not even sure we can get one from a bank. Open to suggestions? Still happy to marry the man I love with all my heart... |

Inspiration
Bridesmaids' Newsletter
Ahhh- deep sigh of relief.
So after this week's slump, I'm breathing lighter again. Thank goodness!!! I'm happy to say that I've had more communication with my bridesmaids. Also, starting a monthly bridal newsletter to mail off to every bridesmaid in the bridal party has given me an outlet and a way to literally keep us all on the same page. Accomplished a whole bunch of DIY projects this weekend with the help of my fiance'. I'll be uploading photos of those soon. Next weekend- lunch and spa trip with 2 of my bridesmaids...to catch up! I wanted to post something to thank everyone for inspiring me with their own wedding efforts. Blessings to all new and future brides! |

Ask a Question
DIY Paper Flowers- HELP with placement.
So I started my paper flowers. It's amazing how inexpensive this is. It took me five minutes and I can make about 10 for $1.
I thought I could use these along with my white petals for the aisle. Photo #2 is what our altar will look like. The outdoor lakeside part looks like photo #3 except I'll line the petals so the middle of the aisle is just grass...it's neater. Should I just use these paper flowers- jumbo sized for the aisle. Also, everything is white- should they be orange- add some color for fun? I think so! |

Tuxedos
Thank you Men's Warehouse
Whew- thanks to Men's Warehouse we saved our sanity. We have groomsmen in Miami, Maryland, Georgia & New Jersey. So this is our one stop shop.
My groom is going to take my breath away in this all black tux with white vest and tie. The groomsmen will compliment the bridesmaids in the coral/rust color. One more thing- DONE!! This took 1/100th of the time it took for us to find our bridesmaids' gowns. Men have it so much easier. |
