Wedding Decoration
The turnout of the aisle decor I posted a DIY on.
Taking a quick pause from my wedding story. I thought since we were on the ceremony portion of this wedding story. I would refer back to my posts for ceremony décor. I posted about some aisle chair decorators that I was going to use for the ceremony. I wanted to post a picture of what those looked like. I am entirely glad that I made these to give everything some color because the wind was very strong the day of the wedding and my bright pink aisle runner was not able to be put down. The wind would have hoisted it away! I posted about how to make them a few posts before the wedding as they were a last minute cheap idea. The arch was the main focus of the ceremony it was larger than life with tons of flowers draping from it and I had vases with floating candles creating a stage for us. (of course the candles did not stay lit so in pictures they just look like jars of water… haha) but oh well I never noticed. We had rows of white chairs and throughout the hedge cut bushes we used Sheppard’s hooks with bright pink lanterns hanging on them to continue our décor from the reception to the outside. The overall cost of our ceremony was not outrageous, between the chairs, arch, lanterns, aisle that I could not use, vases with candles we came in at about $350 probably. And it looked awesome! Everything I could hope for.

The Longest Walk Ever
I made my way out of the limo and my heart started racing. Up to this point I felt a little nervous and really anxious. But as I was walking up to the hall. Every emotion you can think of hit me. I wanted to cry (happy cry) I wanted to scream, I wanted to run, I wanted to live that moment forever. The hall was beautiful! I got a peek of it before anyone else. All the candles were lit in the romantic dimly lighted reception hall. I wanted everyone to fall in love all over again. The tree centerpieces made the atmosphere feel so natural but as you looked up at the ceiling the bright pink parasols and the white lanterns made it feel whimsical! I loved the combination of natural and fun! There was tulle draped in and out of the huge beams of wood that stretched from one end to the other. It was truly a dream come true. But reality set in and even though I wanted to live in that moment it was time to meet the love of my life who was waiting for me at the end of that aisle. My dad told me I looked beautiful and that he loved me and escorted me to the door. Fade into you by Mazzy Star started to play. (Such a great song!) if you haven’t heard it LISTEN TO IT! I am not sure if I was more nervous or my dad. It was the longest short distance I have and will ever walk. Sean looked amazing and the look on his face was just so unforgettable. He wanted to cry immediately( and he will never admit that) but he was all teary eyed and excited. We had both waited for this moment for so long. And it was here. It was time to be Mr. & Mrs. Harvey

-To all you ladies who have already walked down the aisle what kind of emotions did you experience. If you havent what do you think your emotion will be? (trust me your not gonna be right)

Getting Ready
Time to become a bride!
My MOH helped me frantically get dressed at the hotel. It was about 4:30 and the ceremony started @ 5. And I know brides are supposed to be late and all that stuff but look I wanted my day to run as planned and the plan was 5 o’ clock. (or as close to that as possible hahah) I slipped into the beautiful oleg cassini dress I bought a year ago at this point. And I loved it a million times more than the first time I wore it when I knew it was “the one” in the store. My MOH helped me put on my fabulous PINK shoes that I had dyed to match his pink vest and my jewelry that I had so carefully chosen(A simple single pearl necklace with matching earrings). Then it was time to put her makeup on. (I actually am very good at makeup, I have had a million in one compliments on how I should do makeup for a living) but I did not trust myself with all the stress and nerves on my wedding day to do my own, but of course my lovely MOH(best friend) was set on me doing hers. So I agreed and I went to work on giving her a nice romantic smoky eye. It turned out great but I was just so nervous and the butterflies were really there, I honestly had to stop and breathe because I felt myself passing out from all the excitement. There we were my mother, MOH and myself ready to haul some butt down to the hall. I was quite rude to the limo driver now that I look back because I wanted to get there! And he took the long scenic route… ( I would have appreciated it if it wasn’t already 10 minutes past 5:oo p.m. with another 10-15 minute drive ahead of us.) I kept frantically saying c’mon c’mon. I promised Sean I wouldn’t be late because he said he felt so nervous and just wanted to see my face. Standing up there in front of 80 people waiting for the limo to pull up was to much for him. This was it we pulled up to the hall and my bouquet was brought to me by my brother and it was time to take the long walk with my father. I was finally a bride!

Getting Ready
Wake up... Wedding Day!
Ok first off let me just state HOW CRAZY the night before the wedding was. On top of all the decorating and chaos that was going on. I soon realized how many little details I was missing on the BIG DAY… (then I just realized after the wedding) that you are never really done and there is always something more you could want so just be happy with what it is you can get accomplished. I received a call from my florist the night before verifying that everything was wonderful and we would see her in the morning. She went over my order with me only to my surprise to realize I never completed it! I was missing all of the boutonnieres’ . I only ordered one for the best man, one for the future husband and one for my dad. WHAT ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE??? So needless to say I transformed from bride into florist and was up until 3 a.m. making boutonnieres’ for everyone. I couldn’t believe I had forgotten this. Well they turned out beautiful! I pat myself on the back I did a good job ::1st picture is my brothers boutonnière with me on the way to the hall:: I did simple baby’s breath and cream roses with a nice pearl pin. They were actually really simple to make and with the arm and a leg I spent on the florist boutonnieres’ I wish I would have done all of them myself. So after that chaos my mom, MOH and I laid in the hotel room and said nothing in the thought that the other one might be sleeping. Out of no where I yelled! “Is anyone else just laying here with their mind racing?” and everyone was relieved we could talk. We talked ourselves to sleep. 7:30 a.m. was going to come very quickly when we fell asleep around 4 a.m. But it didn’t matter because when that alarm went off I jumped out of bed as if I had 2 days worth of sleep. (We brides run on pure adrenaline I figured out). I did eat a small breakfast, my stomach hurt WAY too much to eat, then it was off to the florist. (I was too much of a control freak to let anyone see them before me) We arrived and to my surprise I thought my bouquet was way too big and it reminded me of a Spartan Shield form the movie 300. I was not all that happy. But looking back it looks AMAZING in pictures. So I guess they know what they are doing. Because ladies, it’s ALL ABOUT THE PICTURES! ::Picture 2 is a close up of my bouquet with the husbands dragon head cane:: His leg was still not completely healed from his accident 3 months before the wedding day. You’ll see the hobble in the pictures later. Then it was off to the hair appointment. I brought my stylist the inspiration Dita photo and he just ran with it. I cannot tell you how much I loved my hair. It was my favorite part of the day. He spent 3 hours getting it to look perfect and it did. I looked like a vintage beauty just as I had dreamed! ::Third photo are of hair getting done:: . I chose not to wear a veil because of my extreme hair do. I picked out a great flower piece with French netting and a few feathers and I am so glad I did it looked great! ::Fourth photo close-up of hair piece:: I then went to Chanel to get my makeup done. :: Next few photos are of makeup getting done:: The lady did a great job! I just applied my fake eye lashes myself afterwards because I have a thing with that, I don’t like others to do that! ::Last photo of me putting eye lashes on in the bathroom:: Now I was all beautified and so it was time to rush back to the hotel to get dressed and boy were we running late. EEEEKKKKK.

3 Days until my wedding!!!!!!!!!! I am running around like a mad woman at this point!! so much to do soooo little very little time. I just finished up the hall layout for my venue!(They wanted it 10 days ago but hey! They are getting it this afternoon) what can i do? I am only human. I was perusing the internet when I came across these babies(see picture)

and i thought to myself what a simple nice little feature. So off to michaels i went to find these cute little tin vase thingies. Well to my suprise everywhere around here had nothing of this sort. I found things that were similar somewhat but they ranged in the $10 price range. So i thought to myself DIY! how do i make this similar and cute and WAY BUDGET FRIENDLY! well i put a slight twist on these puppies. and they turned out EXTREMELY CUTE!

i got several pieces of scrapbooking paper(its a very heavy duty cardstock) its about 50cents a piece. and i rolled them into a cone shape and put a dab of hot glue on the edge. I then decorated the top of them with a silver ribbon and tied it on both sides to create a handle. I bought pink and brown hydrangeas and topped them off on the top of the cone. See the picture similiar to what i did. You can decorate the cone however you want whatever kind of flowers. its just a cheap easy fun way to spruce up your chairs.

so total cost of these OVERLYCUTE chair decorations

Scrapbooking paper- 39cents a sheet(it was on sale at michaels!)
Hydrangeas- 2.50 a strand(great quality! @ Michaels)

Cant beat that huh ladies! give it a try its such a fun simple idea! and you can put your own twist on it!

Wedding Dress
Weigh in Reality Check!
So I tried my dress on yesterday. And it still fits! My weight fluctuates quite a bit so I stress overload on whether or not it will be to tight on the BIG DAY! I have tried it on way to many times for my own good… but I just don’t want it to be to loose or to tight. I feel like if I know, I can control. I am not claiming to be “fat” or cry boo hoo that I am to skinny(please I HATE when women do that!) I think I am a pretty average sized girl and I am A O.K. with that. I have curves and I love them! I understand wanting to loose a few pounds before the wedding…. But why build yourself up to be something your not. Your fiancé loves you just the way you are. You don’t need to drop 20 pounds just because your wedding is coming up. Everyone wants to look perfect that day. But if you weren’t already perfect to the one person that matters then you wouldn’t even be planning your wedding! All I am trying to say is watch yourselves after you buy your dress. You don’t want a wedding day meltdown. But just accept what your are and how your built! Don’t expect to loose 10 pounds before your wedding day. No one is focusing on that anyways. No one is going to remember WOW you were 10 pounds thinner on your wedding day. You will be the most beautiful person in the room no matter what your size.

I have 11 days left ladies!!!! My stress is very high and I am ready for my wedding day! I am not expecting a perfect day. I am just expecting to marry the love of my life! Is anyone else worried about their weight???

So I have short hair. And I want to look like a glamorous goddess. I am pretty edgy(i listen to mostly alternative and metal music, i am not afraid to wear headbands and blue eye shadow.) so needless to say this is a big change for me.... well its me but if i was going to a red carpet event!!! I LOOOVVEEE DITA VON TEESE!!!(like on a crazy person level) she is so beautiful.(For those of you who dont know her, she is a pinup burlesque girl, also dated Marilyn Manson for awhile(he's crazy but shes beautiful anyways)... This is what I will do with my hair on my wedding day. Simple, but different. And i think 50's glam everytime i see my dress so I think this hairstyle screams it! What are you guys doing with your hair. What do you think of my choice?

WEDDING DRAMA!!!
WOAHHH OVERLOAD!
soooo this past week has been a total overload!!! That is the whole reason for me starting this blog! WHERE DO WE START???

I went to finish paying for the Reception location. Which went smoothe, I asked the woman if i could take a look around the hall one last time for mental images. She took me in. The tables were set up and I said, is this a typical wedding set up and she said Yes. There in front of me was a table with 8 chairs (CRAMMED SO TIGHT, THEY COULD NOT PUSH IN) at a dinner table and I said. You paper says seats 8-10 COMFORTABLY(mind you with 100 guests i was planning on 10 per. table 10 tables) yea NOT! 8 were way to crammed! I said to her. Do you really think peope want to sit that close to eachother? She said well it is a little tight. A LITTLE? ohhhh ya see it wouldnt be so bad. If i hadnt already put the order in for my specialty linens (which takes 6-8 weeks to come in) and I am only 25 days from my wedding @ this point. There is no way I wanted anymore than 6 guests per table. Which means I needed another 5-6 tables. Needless to say I told the woman look for future brides, dont lie on the paper and put seats 8-10 comfortably. YOU WOULD NOT EVEN HAVE THE OPTION OF 9 at a table!!!! Luckily the linen store (for extra money) could get me the extra linens in time. But now I needed more centerpieces. Well the place I purchased my orginal centerpieces was out of them and had a 90 day return policy! I gave them the sad face and they gave me my money back. But now I had to start from scratch 25 days before my wedding!!! After days of looking I have decided to do the manzanita crystal trees on my tables. (Now you guys know I am on a budget) but I worked my skills. Michaels is selling the braches for $10 each. And I have an endless supply of coupons. So I got them for $5 each(with a group of people all buying them so i cheated the system) All and all with all of the coupon usage, vases i needed and flowers for them i came in at about $16 per centerpiece!!!! FOR DREAM CENTERPIECES!!! THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!

Oh and then the drama continued this weekend. My hair stylist had a life changing experience and decided I DONT DO HAIR ANYMORE. SORRY! but that also worked out because I scored an amazing STYLIST on saturday! He's GREATTTTT!!! and he has all my visions in mind!

sooo all the drama worked out for the better but.... there was a lot of drama!

I ALWAYS WIN :)

Wedding Cake
I bought my cake!!!
We got the wedding cake over the weekend! I LOVE IT! it fits us so well. Just a touch of fun and yet still romatic. This picture is a bad OLD model of the cake and ours will only be three tiers, which eliminates the bottom layer. The third layer has stripes on it( which whoever made the model decided white stripes on a pale pink background would look good...) uhhhh yea.... The top two layers will be exactly as you see, the third layer will be fuschia (our color)with the white stripes..... I am very excited to see the outcome. I got the cake @ publix. BRIDES listen you do not need to spend $700 on a cake. Publix has beautiful cakes that taste SOOOO good and you can do so many styles patterns colors..... you name it they will do it... My cake is 3 tiers and i decorated to my taste and did all the colors i wanted and the total price for the cake with delivery! was

$194!!!!! beat that!!!

Our wedding is going to be an outdoor cozy ceremony. With pops of bright pink and chocolate brown to set the stage. Our wedding will feature manzanita trees for centerpieces with splashes of orchids and strands of crystals. Most of my wedding decor and accessories were DIY pojects. I love the outcome of just doing something yourself. I also make custom bridal headpieces!
