Wedding Dress
This is it! I think...

So This is the dress I am ordering it this weekend (hopefully)... I originally wanted something fitted at the top with a huge bottom with lots of sparkle and pick ups... But now that things have changed so much I thought this dress would be a great summer wedding dress it's not huge, it's more flowy (is that a word LOL).. But here's my question I am plus sized a 16 street do you think this dress will be flattering on me? I would love to go try it on but being plus sized all the boutiques say I have to pay for it and order it inorder to try it on... So be honest do you think it will be ok on a plus sized girl or is there a better shape?

Thanks...

I am a plus sized girl also. Wedding dress shopping is terrifying for a plus size B2B! I found that A-line dresses looked the best on me, because they flow nicely and don't showcase any imperfections. It depends on your "trouble spots". If you have a tummy, or hips, I wouldn't order the dress.  BUT that's me personally. Oh, and I would never order a dress without trying it on first. The dress that I picked out is COMPLETELY different from my original vision. Good luck!! =]

Heather, I don't think it has anything to do with size. I think that some dresses flatter some people and not others. I think it really sucks that there's no way to try it on before you spend all of the money to order it.

I had a hard time trying on dresses cuz I'm a little big myself and apparently they only keep teeny tiny dresses in stock. I picked the ones with corset backs so I could have a little more room (plus I love the look of a corset). That way I could get some idea of what I wanted and looked good in. There were a couple that I was in love with on the hanger and then when I put it on I thought "yuck".

I don't think this post has probably helped you any but I guess I just wanted to agree with you :S sorry

I agree with itsmedmh is nothing to do with the size and it really sucks  that you can't try it unless you buy it.

I will suggest to go somewhere else where you can try it or where at least you can try a similar style so you can see what it will look like.  As per your shape I will guess that an A line will be more flattering, but you wont truly know how this fitted style will look on you until you have it on.

When I was trying dresses I thought that they were made to look good not matter what.  Styles I would have never consider were looking good.

it really is hard to tell if it will look good on you because every person is shaped differently. Is there a David's bridal near you?  The generally have knock off dresses of designers that you could possibly try on to get an idea if that is what you like.  I commend you for ordering your dress before trying it on--I don't think I could do that.  I found a few that I liked online but when I tried them on--it was a no way jose moment.  I ended up with a red dress---and even then I called 40 stores and drove 3 hours to try it on before I purchased it.  I'd hate for you to order it and hate it when it comes in--this was my BIGGEST fear...it's a lot of money to flush down the drain if you don't like it.  I'm not plus size, but I have read from other brides on here the strapless didn't fit their style--they went with a halter...so that is something you might want to consider too.  But then again it all depends on your body shape.  Good lucK!

I think its beautiful.  Plus, Spanx's have the ability to cover any thing up  My fiance's sister (triple D with an apple figure) wore them when she was trying on dresses and everything looked good!
