How Exciting!!!
How awesome is this website?!?

Hello everyone! I stumbled onto this website this morning and have been so inspired and excited! I love the concept!!

Well, not too long ago my boyfriend of four years proposed, finally! : ) He proposed February 9th! And of course, I am already planning.

I'm excited because I have so many things rolling through my mind and I love the fact that I can get other peoples HONEST opinions. I have yet to find a venue and I know this is one of the most important things that I need to do. Finding one that is reasonable on cost seems to be my biggest hurdle.

The second thing I am struggling with is colors. I know that no matter what I want a damask pattern, I love it! I have always loved the black and white pattern. I thought about having just a black and white wedding; simple, clean, elegant... But most of my friends and family are telling me that I need to have an accent color. Do I really?!? If so, does anyone have any suggestions?

I am really looking forward to using this site! I have 18 months to my wedding and it may seem like a long time, but it will be over before I know it!!!!

Firstly CONGRATS!  :D

And the damask thing is just so nice, if we weren't having a beach wedding I would've loved to have used it.  I reckon if you are going to go for it in a black you need an accent colour that will really POP, the odd thing is it doesn't even have to be a colour that you're really into, like lime green or pink (or even both) but bright does look great.  Or you could go metallic?  Gold or silver would look awesome.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! And welcome to WBC! I too am using damask in my wedding. I really love the pattern. My accent color is pink (In a couple of shades). You do not have to have an accent color, but that is up to you. A color combination that I personally love is red and aqua. Check it out. Good luck with planning!

Congrats on the engagement! :)
I am like you.. there are so many colors to choose from! I know I want black and white.. but I am unsure of an accent color.. I myself am thinking of either gold, or like a bright lime green! I don't know.. it's tough!!
Goodluck on all of your planning!

Congrats and welcome!  Damask isn't my main theme but I do love it.  My invitations are black and white damask with some of the font in fuchsia to accent.

many girls on WBC are doing a black and white themed wedding. i am doing black and white with a red accent but i don't think an accent color is necessary. a damask themed wedding would be very elegant and classy.

congrats on your engagement!!!! i've been with my boyfriend for a little over 4 years now and i am just waiting for the day :)

Welcome to WBC!!

I say that if you don't mind your bridesmaids in black or white, then you definitely don't need another colour.  A lot of brides are going with black, white and another color, but that doesn't have to be the case.
