I am planning on having a grooms cake at our wedding or rehearsal dinner. I have a few ideas. Is anybody doing this? If so are you having the groom's cake at the rehearsal or wedding reception?
i thought the point of these cakes are for the groom to have a say in his own cake, they dont get very much imput in to the rest of the wedding, as much we like to include them they really just usally say yes dear lol. I think its a great thing for the rehearsal dinner that way you can get the shoving it in to each other face the night b4 the wedding. I think its kinda cute if you maybe wanna surprise him with one. but wouldnt it be nice to see what he comes up with on his own. she how creative he gets :) good luck!! P.S those cakes are super cute!!
Nah, we're not really too fussed about the small things like the cake but I have chosen a Spiderman and Mary Jane topper as a quirky token to his big kid side
I'm still contemplating it. If I do it, we'll have it at the rehersal dinner. I was thinking of four small cakes with the logo of his four fav. sports teams. That wouldn't really fit in with the wedding though.. so definitely it would be at the rehersal dinner.
I am doing a grooms cake as a surprise at the wedding, I won't put it right next to our beautiful cake though. It will be one of his college logos. He is going to love it!
We're not having a grooms cake. One cake is expensive enough. Plus I don't really see the point unless you are cutting up the grooms cake to send home with guests.
My groom had one. It was in the shape of an absolute bottle. and read "absolutely the best (his nickname). We didn't even cut it that day. We ate it the next day because we didn't even get to eat a piece of our wedding cake (only the piece we cut to take the pic). Too busy working the room.
