My bridal garters came in a few days ago, I ordered them from www.gartersbykristi.com. I wanted something Marine Corps themed and it took a while to find the right one. At first I wanted something camo, but nothing was the right camo print, and to have them custom done it would have been ridiculously expensive lol! But I'm super excited about the one I decided on :]

Boudoir Photography
I did it & loved it!
Has anyone else been wanting to do a boudoir session for their husbands/fiances? I have been for a while now, and I finally found an awesome photographer nearby. She was soo sweet, and made me feel completely comfortable...& she was a fellow military wife so we could def. relate to one another! I had been planning it for so long, constantly buying cute panties & lingerie outfits (working at Victoria's Secret has given me alot of really cute ideas too)
Lindsay, my photographer, made a good point by saying that these boudoir sessions are just as much for the woman as they are for the man. When you see the pictures of yourself, it'sa total confidence boost! I don't know how she did it, but she made me look & feel amazing! Bridal Shower
So I had my very first bridal shower last month! It was so nice! I loved having all of my favorite people in one place! I can't believe how wonderful our familes are, and how truly blessed we are. We got tons of stuff, and I know it will all be put to good use!
My mom & Aunt bought these really awesome damask dishes from Big Lots & used them for the food. They found some really cute ice cream dishes and used those as flower vases...that way everything that was bought for the table, I am able to keep and use in my new house. |

Only 35 days till the wedding!
& my Marine is finally home!
I can't believe our wedding is only 35 days away! How crazy! I still have tons to do....like really.....TONS! I've been so pre-occupied with deployment, and work, and school, that wedding stuff has kinda been the last thing on my mind. But my husband is officially home from his 3rd deployment, and now that I'm on cloud 9 again, I can really focus on getting all these little wedding details taken care of.

Champagne Flutes
I had mine made at Things Remembered....since my hubby is a marine and we're having a military wedding, I though it would be cute to have the EGA (eagle globe and anchor, it's the Marine Corps symbol) engraved on our flutes! This isn't a great picture, but you get the idea. The other looks the same except it has "Groom" on it. I think I'm going to add a bow to the stem...probably with just solid black ribbon.

So I've always been a fan of Target, they always have cute things, and even better, CHEAP!
I found these really cute & simple damask invitations that were only $24.99 (for 50). I've see tons of pretty invitations with the damask theme, and they have a pretty big price tag too. I just find it ridiculous to spend an insane amount of money on a piece of paper that everyone is going to throw away! In my opinion, I'd rather spend that money on something that actually matters. So I've decided to use these for the wedding..I'll probably do a little DIY and add some cute ribbon or something, I haven't decided yet. I also found some great heels for me and my bridesmaids! They're knock-off Ninas but who cares! I found the Nina Electra shoe a while back, and decided it was absolutely perfect, and I had to have it...in red of course ;) Then I found these online and they come in red (for me) & black (for my girls) Only $22.99!! Beats the $100 I was going to spend on the original. |

Honeymoon
help! I can't decide!
I have been so frustrated about all this honeymoon stuff!!
Anybody have any advice on where to go? I know I want to be on the beach somewhere, and somewhere all-inclusive... A cruise is out of the question b/c he is currently deployed for 7 months on a ship so that's the last place my hubby would want to be LOL! So help me out ladies, I'm so over-whelmed... **honeymoon update**(8/20/2010) Hubby & I decided we really don't have time for a big honeymoon after the wedding, the military is only giving us a certain number of days to have a wedding and move to a different state. So with that said, we will just have a few nights to ourselves at a really nice hotel, and then on our one year anniversary, we will do it big! Def. want to do an all-inclusive resort...either the carribean or Mexico, we still have time to decide though. I feel like we would really enjoy it more that way, and it gives us something else big to look forward to. Might not be every girls dream of waiting a whole year for a honeymoon, but thats what happens when you're "married to the Marine Corps" LOL! Wouldn't have it any other way though :] |

I just ordered some silk gerbera daisies from Afloral...I was wondering if anyone else has, and how did you like them? I have been thinking about doing silk bouquets for my bridesmaids so I figured I would just order a few first and see how they look, and if I like them or not. Hopefully I like them, they were super cheap!! Like $0.49 a stem & shipping was like $8.95 so that wasnt too bad either. If I decide to keep them I will be making small hand-tied bouquets myself---wish me luck LOL! ***UPDATE*** so my flowers came in today! I was really impressed with how quickly they got here...shipping was less than $9 and it only took about 2 days!! The color of the centers isn't dark like the picture..I kinda figured they wouldn't be as dark as I want them. However, I took some black fabric paint and I brushed a little bit in the center & it looks awesome!!! They look pretty good, and I'm excited to make the bridesmaid bouquets now. Holding them up infront of a mirror you cant even tell that they are fake! |
